So, anyone else run a foul of some hacking? I logged on today, after not having been on in a while due to RL, to discover to my utmost displeasure that my main character had been stripped of all his gear and gold.

Apparently this has been going around, lately. My only suggestion would be to play in private games, or if you absolutely must play pubs, invest in an authenticator. It's something like $5, and takes maybe 10 seconds to put in the generated 6-digit code. Also, once you associate an authenticator with your account, it can't be associated with anyone else's, meaning that even if someone got your password, they'd need your authenticator as well, and the code obviously changes every time you press the button.

    This.

I don't have a smart phone because I'm a cheap fuck, so I just picked up the actual authenticator.

If any up and coming Demon Hunters are looking for a weapon, I have an 1110 DPS crossbow (blue, fire damage and % damage, no other stats) for sale. I paid 1.5mil for it, and I'm looking to get 1mil out of it now. I think that's a bargain still, but my auction house isn't working so if I'm wrong I'll lower the price.

It's a great bow that got me through most of act 3 inferno.

The whole public game hacking thing is complete bullshit, there's absolutely no reason to avoid them. People are jacking your password through other, more traditional methods like trojans installed through various browser exploits.

Basically either get an authenticator, play Diablo III on a PC you never use to surf the internet, or get used to changing your password very frequently.

I'm stuck on how to deal with reflect damage mobs on DH.

    Currently, I have two choices:

    1) Get out my 900 LoH 600 DPS weapon and poke them down slowly while being able to ignore their reflect damage to a large degree

    2) Take Impale + Grievous Wounds instead of RoV Stampede and spike them during SS.

Both would work, but the Impale way doesn't involve me keeping a back-up weapon.

So I think I found the most amazing boots ever. First time I've found an upgrade for myself.
    230 dex
    71 Int (7.1 AR)
    53 AR
    12% Movespeed

8k DPS upgrade, boots with movespeed are a necessity, but finding some with that much dex is amazing. Some people would say bojanglers, but the 13% IAS on them even with a perfectly rolled dex (~90) wouldn't match these badboys for DPS in a real situation.

Reflect is one of those affixes that makes you yell BULLSHIT! as a DH. You pretty much one-shot yourself >_> My preferred method is either just skipping or Shadow Power - Gloom.

Tons of people whining about repair cost, but I think all the changes are good. Well, all but one.

There new Gem prices are kind of ridiculously low.

Considering gems under square cost less than 3 freaking thousand to buy and are worthless as soon as you step into the next difficulty since you find better? Yes, they need to be ridiculously low.

Then remove the gold cost all together. Having a cost as low as 10-100 gold is a useless factor. Add the gold cost in when it actually becomes a decision.

100 gold for upgrading is not a gold sink when it drops 1k at a time.

It has to actually have an impact on the economy to be considered a gold sink. This won't do anything.

In a 5 hour play session the gems I find and upgrade at those costs would cost me around 500 gold in inferno. Meanwhile I made at least 150k-200k gold just from vendoring crap drops and picking up gold, never mind the cash from AH

Once you get to the gems costing 30k, its a gold sink.

What I'm saying is that the cost is so minor, it might as well not be there. 100 gold is next to nothing in inferno.

Kai, they're lowering the gold cost on low level gems. Oddly enough, cheaper low level gems is going to be focused towards low level players who are still levelling.

100g is nothing in Inferno, you're right. But if you're in Inferno, you probably shouldn't be giving a shit about Flawless Square gems anymore.

I know what they are doing. It's going to cost 10 gold to raise a gem at the lowest price. 10 gold. Why even bother?

No, it's not a cash sink.

Inferno still drops square gems, so yes, it matters. I go out of my way to find pages to upgrade them. Another thing that doesn't make sense. Gems dropping in inferno requiring pages to upgrade that don't drop in inferno.

Not like I was raging or anything about the change. It was just a simple observation until Tide decided that he needed to be rude about it.
