    Awesome story man Liked it very much.

    About Tony asking how he carried him; Some thing like this would be funny;

    TS: Say how did you cross the 100 miles that fast?
    HP: Now that is a secret ;)
    TS: No seriously?
    HP: Eh. I had donkeys.

    ten minutes later Press asks him;
    HP: I had Horses close by.
    TS: Horse or donkeys?
    HP:I think it was Camel

    A week later Nick Fury asks about it;
    HP: No it wasn't horse it was unicorn

    Let Harry troll them man. I want to see it.

    I already removed a few instances of that on FFNet, but the version here is slightly outdated in that regard (because DLP formatting is whack.)

    ---------- Post automerged 06-06-2012 at 00:00 ---------- Previous post was 05-06-2012 at 23:58 ----------

    I might use that...

    Week later still :

    Fury : So, unicorns?
    Harry : It might've been a flying broom.
    Fury : Now this is just getting silly.

    Excellently done. I'm curious on how you are going to handle the action parts of the series--more specifically the larger-scale battles of the Avengers movies. The Avengersverse's combat is much more physical than in HP. People get punted through walls, get shot, and have buildings collapse on them. How's Harry supposed to handle being bitchslapped by an Asgardian when he's a simple squishy wizard? Are you going to keep him in clothes and robes? Simple protection spells on the clothes seems a bit cheap, IMHO.

    As for Harry's attitude in this fic, it seems more like he's aloof to me. Although he wasn't born a pure-blood, nor does he despise Muggleborns, he has picked up a bit of a holier-than-thou view of Muggles. He isn't worried about being shot because he can spell his clothes to block bullets. He doesn't worry about being tracked because he can short out tracking devices. He doesn't care about being captured because he can Apparate. With the removal of wizards, he doesn't really see the world as a threat--much the same way you wouldn't feel worried about being stabbed when you enter an infant ward. No threat. Now, Harry doesn't have the arrogance to feel better than them--he still sees Muggles as human beings. He just doesn't feel threatened by them, therefore he can casually talk with the pretty interrogator and wave at the people tracking him. He kinda has the same attitude as Banner in the Avengers, come to think of it. Watching the world, aloof and amused because nobody can touch him.

    Well, two of the other Avengers - Hawkeye and Black Widow - couldn't take a punch from an Asgardian either, so that's hardly a prerequisite. For now, he's sticking far more to handy stuff like apparition, stunning spells, obliviation etc. since he isn't involved in a full on fight yet. Regardless, HP wizards are sturdier than Muggles - the fact that people crash in Quidditch all the time and survive with broken bones at worst attests to that - and properly enchanted armor would help out; Thor may be of service in that regard. ;)

    This attitude can really only last until he realizes that there's Muggles who can kick the crap out of him, though; any of the Avengers, really, but also some of the villains. You are correct in that this Harry's essentially only known the Dursleys as far as Muggles go and spent the last decade and a half among wizards, so he's not really paid much attention to that world at all.

    Yes but he was playing with Dudley's computer when they were away so he shouldn't be that out of touch with technology.

    Maybe impressed with internet or more modern tech. but hardly with computers or planes.

    And he shouldn't stay ignorant after he gets a good idea what they are capable of, not very professional if he want's to stay on top of his game.

    Like Arc reactor for example. He should be curious about how that works since it feels like magic to him.

    Well, the last time he did any of that was as a kid, so I'm not sure how relevant that is. As for planes and computers - they're practically magic to most people since they don't have a clue how do they work, and that's people that actually use technology a lot. I can't imagine wizards thinking about the issue much at all, and he is in a world where tech is even more advanced that it would be in the real world around 2010.

    Ignorance is a curable condition. ;)

    Well, I did mention that for a reason, y'know - it will come up again.

    I really really like this. It's going a bit slow at the moment but I figure that's needed for build-up so no complaints on that score - especially if you update regularly :D - and the writing as a whole is solid as is the characterisation. Concerns and criticisms have been well covered by everyone else and I honestly didn't have any to begin with. I'll definitely be watching this.

    I personally didn't notice the overabundance of winking. I can see it once it's pointed out but I didn't notice it beforehand so... eh. ;)

    I seriously doubt there is anyone who can kick the crap out of him. There are probably people who can challenge him, but a challenge and kicking the crap out of him are two different things. If anything, I'd say he is a bigger threat than most just based on the sheer versatility of the Harry Potter style of magic. If you factor in his training and the elder wand, I think he becomes even more of a threat.

    I think Nick Fury said it best in your story when he said something like you would need to surprise him to get him. I fully expect Mr. Barton to be found as well. Harry might need glasses, but anyone who can see something as fast and small as a snitch on a quidditch pitch has to have amazing eyes. In some cases he spotted it from the other side of the pitch. Those eyes were trained for battle in your story as well.

    Well, the various Avengers are hardly slouches either; Harry might be a serious threat to SHIELD and most any normal Muggle for obvious reasons, but he's not the only one with superpowers, and not all the Avengers will be as affected by his magic (The Asgardians, for example; probably the Hulk, and most of the villains to some extent.)

    We'll get to Barton in Chapter 5; he was laid-back enough about SHIELD keeping an eye on him, but when there's suddenly someone pointing a weapon at him he gets a little less friendly. ;)

    Haha, oh god why. Why aren't you Ryuugi Shi... Seriously, that update rate has spoiled me for everything else.

    Back on topic:
    I agree that there are people that could beat Harry in a fight, yes. I don't see what he could do to the Hulk, for instance.

    However, I do contest the fact that people could kick the shit out of him(Barring extenuating circumstances)... Because he can GTFO like nobody else. Teleporting the fuck away alone renders him practically immune to getting the shit kicked out of him.

    Eh, a new chapter's probably coming out today; I've got about 3500 words typed up and 1500 more that needs some serious editing still. Good-sized chunk again, in other words.

    Apparition is indeed very handy,but since he still requires an idea of where he'd have to go and a wand, it's probably less helpful in a fight than it might seem (we never really got any action abusing apparition in HP, probably since it's a little more off-putting and confusing than instant movement given that one's apparently conscious during transport.)

    In any case, Harry going all out will depend on who he's up against; he wouldn't do so against a shield agent even if they wished to harm him, mostly since, well, what's a Muggle really going to do?

    Cheers. :)

    Imperturbable and Impervius Charm to make it as difficult as possible that some physical force meets his body. Then he only needs to deal with the kinetic impact energy somehow. Lifting up Hulk takes away the ability to use his physical energy to move himself or hit something.

    I'm not saying you should have apparition used as a combat skill, not all. I wasn't stating that Harry couldn't be beaten because he teleporting all the fuck over kicking ass... Just that nobody can kick your ass if you aren't there anymore. Even if you can't win a fight, if you can just duck behind a corner and teleport 100/500/X miles off, it's hard to get your teeth knocked in. Also, portkeys, activate and gtfo.

    Simply put, while I don't have any issue with Harry being unable to beat certain people in combat(It'd be very boring to read if he was invincible), I don't think that "Muggles who can kick the crap out of him" are much of a worry when he can just leave whenever he wants. He could certainly lose to them, no questions there. But there's no reason to stick around once he knows he has lost, right?

    If you have your heart set on someone beating his ass, that's fine. ;] Heroes often do get smashed. You should just include a believable reason why he doesn't just portkey or teleport away.

    Edit: For further clarification, I'm not even saying it'd be difficult to take him down. Snipers, poison, drugs, darts, betrayal, surprise... All perfectly viable options. However, you said "Muggles who could kick the crap out of him", so I'm assuming an actual straight up fight. If I had to fight a black belt(?) Krag Maga fighter to the death, I could shoot him while he was sleeping. It wouldn't be particularly difficult, but I wouldn't say I kicked his ass.
