Alright, I hadn't really thought about that - changing the few lines that reference that shouldn't be an issue.

    Cheers.

If you wan't to know about apparation's use in combat refer to DD vs Voldemort fight at 5th book.

Apparation is used some sort last resort there. Like when DD trapped V in water. V tries to use different ways of breaking out (seen as flashes of light) before apparating outside.

Did Dumbledore take notable advantage of that though? It could have just been Voldemort's pride refusing to simply escape without trying to break through the magic first.

I hope Harry took with him a Time-turner - wonder what SHIELD would think about him being in two places at the same time?

That's what I was thinking - for him to apparate to escape would be admitting that he couldn't break Dumbledore's spell: big blow to his ego, that, and Voldemort's ego is everything.

I'd figured that, as well - then again, HP wizards in general don't really seem to take advantage of half the magic introduced. E.g. if you have veritaserum, legilimency, unbreakable vows, how is it that something like Wormtail's betrayal is even possible? Especially in the middle of a war. (I mean they suspected Remus, so why not check and see if you're right?)

    ---------- Post automerged at 00:53 ---------- Previous post was at 00:51 ----------

It would be extremely handy, but it is a bit ridiculously plotbreaky - if you can travel through freaking time, there's not really such a thing as surprise or being unprepared.

It would be fun to have multiple Harry's running around during the concurrent events of Iron Man 2, Thor and Hulk, though. ;)

Because they are wizards. With the exception of the unbreakable vow all of those things can be countered, and the unbreakable vow is not something you just ask someone to do. More than that though, the Fidelius Charm is a charm that has it's roots in trust. If like other magic it has an emotional component then it would make sense that doing something like that would violate the trust needed for the charm.

Though it is apparently possible for you to cast the Fidelius Charm on a place you are staying in so it makes little sense not to simply trust yourself. There are reasons that would make sense, but that isn't a debate for this particular thread.

Question. How far along are you with the next chapter? All this anxiety (and disappointment, when I realize that your post isn't an update) is starting to wear on my nerves. Seriously....I'm developing a twitch.

This is greedy of us, I realize, but I'd like to know too. I just caught myself hitting the refresh button eagerly after having tabbed out for a quarter of an hour. We need more of the good stuff, man.

I don't know if its been pointed out before, but short range apparition isnt anything special... They LEARN it short ranged. Across the great hall, remember?

Plus remember the weasley twins apparating EVERYWHERE? they pretty much refused to use doors after they learned and apparated between rooms instead of walking down the freaking stairs...

Why did you remove the part about apparating with super-sensory charm on?

I figured the confusion and pain was from the feeling of apparition itself, amplified by the charm - that was the bad idea, and not the cracking sound you have reduced to a pop.

Yeah, no I definitely thought it was because of the sound.

I figured that if you reduce it to a pop, the sound wouldn't be nearly as deafening if amplified. It was a detail that wasn't really necessary so I figured I'd remove confusion.

What about the whole squeezed through a tube thing?

Or, if the charm effect only hearing, that might be still manageable, so yeah, alright.

Turn about is fair play does seem more in character with Harry than grab and question.

I'm a little surprised that Shield didn't suspect Stark being responsible for Harry's documents - after all Harry rescues technological tychoon and suddenly, after months of not bothering about them, he gets documents. Even if they can't pin it on Stark, the suspicion is bound to be there.

It looks like Harry is catching on as far as technology is concerned - he might not know enough yet, but he is finally becoming aware that that lack of knowledge is a serious problem and not just those silly muggles playing around again.

One thing that seems a little odd is Shields communications - they seem a bit too informal and informative for a professional secret organisation. Insufficient paranoia? I mean sure Harry cheated his way into tapping their communication system, but SHIELD is supposed to be playing in the leagues where that sort of thing is expected and risk caused by it minimized.

Stark also seems to have noticed Harry's effect on technology - at least when Jarvis mentions it, he just waves it away rather than reacting to the anomoly.

I really like the use of the Invisibility Cloak as a Hallow, meaning it should hide him from everything not just make him invisible.
