The picture was never about the man's power. It was about his suicidal bravery despite his complete lack of it.

Taure has said this in far fewer words than I will:

Scrib, you've missed the point entirely. Look--look at the picture.

This extended version, if anything, emphasises the point that Tank Man was making and, will forever, be remembered as a voice against the dark.

He stood in front of an unstoppable, immovable force.

He stood against it and the world applauded.

He stood against knowing full well he would die for it. (His true fate is unknown).

Whether it was one tank or one million tanks, he stood against it. He defied it.

This man stepped in front, this man stood his ground and said 'No, no more'.

And there was no force in this or any universe that could have made that man stand aside, in this very moment.

    You must see that.

The irony is that the more famous version was probably cropped precisely because of this sort of utter retardation, making it a bit more iconic, a little easier to digest, a little clearer, etc.

Looking at any version and seeing 'one man's power message' is, however, fucking disgraceful.

This guy didn't just jump in front of a tank.

He jumped in front of a tank TWICE.

If you know the story, after a few minutes of face-off, he climbed up onto the tank, talked to the tank driver, stepped down, stepped aside, then as they started to move, jumped in front of the tank a second time before finally being dragged away.

Not gonna lie. That gave me a story idea for the anthology.

I have a framed copy of that photo hanging in my office. I still regard it as probably the most courageous thing I've seen in my life.

Gnaga, can't tell if you're being humorous, or didn't realize they're Deloreans... They're Deloreans.

You might think this is impressive or whatever, but if you think about it, all you really need is the first Delorean. After that the others are embarrassingly easy - just set the controls to go back five minutes, repeat, um, let's see, 10 times, then voila! just start painting the copies to tell them apart.

The really impressive part is that this proves there's no universe-ending paradox induced in time travel, and I'm only really left wondering what the guy in the middle did with all the other versions of himself. [As an aside, this picture would be infinitely cooler with about ten copies of that guy 'shopped in.]

Oh, and this also assumes the ready supply of either (a) plutonium, (b) a 1.21 gigawatt lightning bolt, or (c) a Mr. Fusion.
