I saw a missed opportunity, that was why I changed it from the original in which cheering charms were it. Though they made him laugh, movie Hulk has displayed being pretty cheery while smashing before so I didn't figure I could really get away with it. (the fact that it made the Hulk seem like a push-over didn't help.)

    Great update!

I like that it's not just the Cheering Charms. It's good that they had something to do with it, and they clearly did, but if it was that simple it'd seem a little too simple. Even though HP magic is OP as a general rule.

I liked Harry's exasperated reply that he'd return the damned phone. Though the fact that Fury attributed much to that was a bit weird, I'd expect him to think that his phone could have been copied by now and compromised with a bug of some kind, etc. On the other hand it was grouped in with Fury appreciating that Harry saved the lives of his people, and that part did make a lot of sense.

Fight with the Hulk was fun from both perspectives we saw it at. Harry causing the Hulk to trip while chasing him was funny since we saw it from Fury's perspective, but as readers we know it was a tripping charm (I can't remember the name of it now), etc.

One thing I was curious about -- Harry can "feel" how strong the hits are that his shield charm is taking. It reverberates and often messes up the ground around him when he is hit. Is that taking a toll on him? Not that he has to keep casting it necessarily, since we have no canon reason to think that magic makes you tired, but this effect that the hits are having on him? It never quite seemed to wear him out, or at least not until he took a direct hit.

Speaking of the direct hit -- I'd have expected Harry to be hurt a bit more from that. His clothes might have protected, but there's a lot of Harry that isn't covered by clothes. Even if they absorbed the entire hit, he should still have gotten cut up a bit from how fast his arms/face/whatever went slamming into the ground a few seconds later?

    /end incoherent commentary ramble.

    5/5 btw -- great stuff.

Really well done update, and I like the revision where the cheering charms aren't the Anti-Hulk.

Well, I guess they are, but I like that they're not something to cast at will and are always effective.

Hmm, didn't catch that bit, I didn't read the newer version. I like Oz's explanation. :p

Oh, and here's something I noticed and read a few times to sort out.

The first two excerpts I quoted imply that Natasha and Parker have caught up and rejoined Barton and Santana to make a group of four. The third excerpt makes it seem like there are still two separate groups of two people.

Something more mysterious? Personally, I think Harry has been around Hagrid so long violent creatures just like him. Looks like Harry is going to have to make a new entry into the Monster Book of Monsters.

Roarian can keep clinging to his Harry was just trying to get away nonsense. I know what it really going on in this story. Harry is working as a free lance journalist for the Quibbler trying to hunt down the illusive dimension hopping crumpled horn snorkack!

Hey, I just noticed that your summary on FF.net contains a typo:

The way I understood it was that Harry's cheering charms calmed the Hulk down enough that it actively decided to turn back, not that the charms forced it to. I mean, it was laughing, it hit Harry and then it stared skywards for a bit. That doesn't read to me like it was forced into anything.

I like it. It makes Harry look powerful, but it also makes it so that magic doesn't completely wipe out the Hulk. A nice balance, I think.

    Also Banner dialogue :
Random post-ch10 notes: with some of the Harry/Shield antics thoroughly milked, and before this turns into a retread of Rorshach's Blot's fic, things change a bit from here on out; for one, we actually get more Natasha again, the whole Fury and Harry thing which has been coming for a while now, and then we'll be going into the stories of both Harry himself and other relevant canon events. (Notably, Tony's getting in the news as Iron Man and the Obadiah Stane subplot there is still on track with minimal changes due to Harry's interference.)

We'll be checking in with the arc reactor and Pym subplots too. -nods-

Mawwwwwd!!!! Cheering Charm FTW! I don't think I could have asked for a better fight between "your Harry" and the Hulk. All the whiners complaining about harry's magic being too powerful or the hulk not having magical resistance, should be pretty damn happy with what you've come up with.

I love that you never out right said that the Hulk has any magical (anti-magical) properties....but you didn't discard the notion either. In Harry's eyes what he's (The Hulk) doing must remind him of magical effects, so that's what the Hulk is compared to. In a way, it reminds me of the Asgardians. What they are doing isn't magic, not as Harry knows it at least, it's technology. But it's so advanced, it's indistinguishable from magic. The Hulk might have been an accident, but the result is so far ahead of anything capable by Earth's technology, that he almost seems magical....in a demonic sort of way.

Anyway, I'm done rambling. Kudos on the awesome fight scene, and keep doing what you're doing to keep the awesome sauce flowing :D

I like to stick to these rules:

    1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
    2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
    3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
    ;)

My only concern is that Harry's penis isn't being properly represented. 'Cause, I mean, it should be friggin' huge. And, given that this is a crossover, adding a few inches above and beyond wouldn't hurt, either.

Like, if, during the heat of battle, it's getting mistaken for part of the Hulk... you're probably doing it right. :|

lol, okay, enough of that. :fire

Fanfic meta-jokes aside, and in all seriousness, I think you did a great job. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and some parts honestly had me laughing.

I sent you a PM, rather than spam the thread with my half-assed grammatical critiques.

Oh come on, your grammar corrections with funny comments are the second best part of a story thread. D:

Edit: Oh. Shit. Didn't see Oz post.

    Haha! Thanks, guys.

Honestly, you weren't missing much, though; this one was heavy on the proofread and light on the funny. I'm slipping in my old age. :facepalm

I really liked it anyway. :)

New chapter looks like it'll be up today. A lot more talky-talky than action in this one obviously, with Fury and Harry meeting face-to-face and more Banner as well.

    Cheers.
