So essentially it's only useful if you are wanting to use it as a RMAH trading pool.
    Wonderful.
I guess they fuck you even more then. They don't take 15%...they take 100%.

Paypal taking a 15% cut seems way off to me. I use paypal a lot, and without looking, I think it's like 3%, and (If I recall correctly) that's only if you have a premier/merchant account, which you only need if you deal with more than cheeseburger money. I'm not sure on any specifics involving a deal with Blizzard, but this is the case for ebay.

Well like I said, I've used Paypal maybe twice since I made my account and I've never transferred money out or anything larger than £10 to my Paypal account so I'm not really sure what the case may be. All I know is Blizzard said something along the lines of Paypal taking a cut of what's left if they need/want to, probably because of you having a premier/merchant account, though I can't be too sure till I actually manage to sell something now I have money in my Paypal account to post some auctions up and see what happens.

Yeah, pretty sure it's mostly Blizzard that gets the 15% cut when it goes to Paypal. I believe they said Paypal will have their own fee.

I guess they figure most people will sell small stuff, put it straight into their Bnet balance to buy something good while the really good items sell for a lot and go to Paypal, and they want a good chunk of that.

Patch 1.0.3 just gutted DHs on their best damaging skill. Absolutely zero reason to use Nether Tentacles now over other EA runes.

Sadly I can't do anything D3 related due to visiting my girlfriend but leaving my Authenticator at home, would've liked to spend this down time just testing out new builds and browsing the RMAH for bargains since I'm on my laptop =\. Still, wasn't too happy when I read the patch notes, people say Reflect Damage needs looking at, Blizz go and throw it on Siegebreaker. Admittedly he was an easy farm but I wouldn't call giving bosses that affix exactly a way of 'looking at it' ... Blizzard in a nutshell I suppose.

I believe their goal with that is lowering the damage from everything, but making more complicated affixes to deal with.

I actually approve, just wish the affixes were a little more interesting and less "omg not again."

    • Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses.
    • Unique monsters in Hell and Inferno difficulty are no longer guaranteed to drop two Magic items when slain
    • The quality of the item for the fourth stack of Nephalem Valor from bosses has been slightly reduced

    What.

Inferno monsters now deal the same amount of damage, no matter how many people are in the game. So, melee classes can tank, and multiplayer is actually a lot easier.

It's called nuking the botter methods. Playing through a full act naturally now nets you significantly more, and better, items than before, due to the gaurenteed rare per elite pack kill at 5 stacks of valor.

Just pick somewhere where you don't die very often so the repair costs don't eat you alive, if you went glass cannon.

Edit: Got ninja'd about a different topic? Is there a word for that? Was talking to Paimon, anyway.

I found this post on the battle net forums of D3 to be quite hilarious and actually somewhat true.

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5889888966

I don't mind the new patch, most of it seems pretty good ie the improved loot drops in late hell and early inferno and the reduced monster damage. The IAS nerf doesn't really bother me but I wish they hadn't increased repair costs so much. I lag terribly while I play though and disconnect quite a bit. I'm still trying to work out the issue but many of my deaths are lag related. I also still can't handle act 2 inferno but I think I just need to pump my resist and damage higher as well. I have around 400 all resist, 40k hp, and 22 k damage with my witch doctor and I'm still really struggling.

Cluster Arrow + Loaded for Bear + SS is my new right-click. 3-shots most champion mobs I've had to fight.

So, I happen to have an absolute shit-ton of Normal and Nightmare crafting materials (over five hundred) - they worth anything to anybody on the AH, or should I just dump at the vendor?

It wasn't exactly hard to get 'em - salvaging useless Magics and Rare, and all.

It doesn't cost you anything to post them and unlike regular auctions, commodities can be cancelled at any time.

Yeah, but would anyone actually buy them on either AH? I don't really want to waste a day hoping/waiting - they're eating up a lot of space in my Stash.

Speaking from experience, you can make a metric shit-load of money off of ingredients. Of any kind. People pay good money (either in-game or otherwise) for you to farm for a few hours.

As an example, my best friend paid me 100k in Runescape for 10k cow hides. In a WoW example, the reagent section of the auction house is ridiculously inflated right now, because people are too lazy to go farm their own shit.
