No idea, I cleared through azmodan with 20khp. I had 35k heading into act 2 with around 300 resist all and got one shot, but I have no clue what is necessary with the new lower damage.

I spent 4mil on two new weapons (I now have 4, and really need to sell some so I can get money back).

The first one has 650 dps, 105 dex, 94% crit damage, and an open socket.
The second one has 797 dps, 120 dex, and 74% crit damage (also 10 discipline).

Somehow these weapons are actually within 5k dps of my 1120 DPS socketed 2hander+quiver. The trade off is 2% crit, 140 dex, and 168% crit damage against 15% flat damage and 300 DPS. Somehow, that's only a 5kdps difference. I can only imagine what gearing up with another socketed+crit damage one hander with dex will do if it had some real DPS behind it.

Why is he using MTG terminology to describe D3 -_-. Although, to be fair I don't even know if they originated from MTG either.

The Timmy, Johnny and Spike player archetypes were created by (introduced by?) Mike Rosewater, the head card designer of MTG. However, the player types they represent are useful for all types of game design, not just MTG. (original article)

I'm still playing, purely because I'm waiting on a beta or 2 and it's something to do till GW2 is released. Made back half the money I spent buying the game so, only another £20 or so to go before I'll either hang it up or go insane and actually try and make a bare minimum of £1 profit.

I'm enjoying C9 Open Beta more than I was enjoying playing D3 at end game.

So no, not playing. Huge let down for me.

I never played Diablo 2, so I was interested in playing D3, played it through once on normal difficulty, then when realised the idea of replay ability was just doing the same shit repeatedly just on a higher difficulty, I dropped the game and never looked back.

It's pretty much the only Blizzard game i've ever regretted buying. Waste of $80.

*shakes head* Ever since WoW (and yes, this means before 'Activision' became involved), Blizzard has gone down the crapper.

They are, essentially, so far up their own assholes that they make Electronic Arts look like saints.

This game did poorly because it sucked. Part of the reason Diablo 2 was so great was that it offered a lot of customization opportunities, and multiple viable builds. Similarly, you actually felt like you were achieving something whenever you played, and it wasn't a large time commitment. With the loot stacks system in place, it basically locks you into running a long section of the game for loot that you probably don't even want. Blizzard could have done amazing things with their loot system (class detect? Fuck yes please) but eschewed it in the pursuit of randomness. Sorry blizzard, you may not have gotten the memo, but takers are no longer interested in spending their time for minimal or low payouts. Especially not in an instant gratification game like this one should be.

There is no reason for me to ever get frustrated while playing a video game because I am making no progress. Even if it isn't effective or significant progress, show the players that they are always advancing. This game was punishing for no reason, and some of the issues that the game faces that make it unfun (uber combo of keywords on mobs for instance) should have been removed as soon as the public outcry started. This isn't WoW where I can show off my epeen because I grind on quests if dungeons for hours. That is a game where struggling for minute gains makes sense, and is tolerated, even desirable. Not Diablo, which has always marketed itself as a game where you are The Hero slicing your way through hordes of minions.

Thy took all the mediocre bits of Diablo and made them full features, added a bunch of new ones with potential, and removed all the really good stuff. If I was designing the game, id give players an option to only get class relevant gear, and the option to go back to random class random stats gear. I would remove unfun combinations of keywords (and everyone who played the game knows what these are) and offer the player more chances to interact with their character. I liked being able to place my skill points where I wanted them, and I liked leveling up and having a lot of skill points to distribute. Put in a respect system if you must, but for fucks sake I had no way of differentiating my characters from anyone else's except for minor visual differences, since we are all using the same Damn skills. I would pace the game so that bosses were a 9 and uniques were a 5, regular mobs 1-4 on the difficulty scale. I would have made the bosses less gimmicky, and hit less hard, but have massive health pools. It is no fun to he instagibbed by a boss, and in Diablo 2 on any class that rarely happened to me.

In short, I'm not sure any of the developers actually played Diablo 2 and enjoyed it. There was so much good about that game that could be improved that wasn't, and even mire that was good that was straight out removed. Bottom like for me is, blizzard removed my control of my player (stats, skill points, which skills are even viable) that I had no draw to my characters after normal/nightmare. Which is a shame, because the storyline was amazing. Tyrael falls from grace to help save humans? That sounds just like him. Diablo having a Xanatos gambit to unite the Prime Evils? Wow, a cunning evil antagonist? Do want. Admittedly I disliked the whole "super human of destiny" b.s. but you can't win them all.

Although I could see Tyrael doing that, it also sucked because it took the mystery out his character.

Diablo's screen-time also sucked, as did his characterization. Evil, yes - but it was cheesy evil, something you'd see out of some crappy cartoon or B-grade movie.

His characterization was also as flat as a pancake, and the whole 'ZEH PRIME EVIL!' shit was released post-D2 in crappy novels, as Blizzard is so fond of doing/ruining their franchises with.

D2 was never a game I played for long periods of time. I always played for a month or so and then went to other games for a couple of months or a year.
I can see myself doing the same with D3, picking it up again every couple of months to play some more, so I'm not disappointed that I lost motivation for now.

I'll be honest, I kept trying to think of a clever name for tits! Diablo but I could never make it work. I call her Diabla for now, but it'd be great to have an exceptionally funny female Diablo name.

But then again, in games tits never stop my violence, so I don't know why it would matter.

I feel the same way. With this one though, I was able to make my money back and more. And since I still have the account, whenever I want to go back, I can play for a week of entertainment and possibly make more money for it.

For some strange reason the two achievements I earned last night were lost. Does anyone have the same/a similar problem?
