I'm not denying that. Merlin isn't the best name ever, but it's not that horrid. I do like it more than Phoenix.

...Of course he could name Harry fucking "Thunder Thighs" and for the rest of the story I'd only be thinking "At least it wasn't Phoenix."

It's been updated, it's Magician, which I'm perfectly fine with.

    What are you talking about?

Sword in the Stone Merlin was the most badass Merlin. Dude warped himself through time just to go on vacation in Bermuda.

Here I thought Stark would call him 'Houdini' just to be an ass.

Reading Harry's thoughts about what to do for a mask and his proximity to Stark made me think he would end up looking like Saiyan Man for a moment there

The name isn't too bad. I'm kind of sad that he wasn't branded the Highlander. He could have adopted Professor McGonagall's accent at the press conference and starting wearing Gryffindor's sword around. I wonder if he has that thing with him? Something that could kill with a small cut could be useful.

The blood...I wonder if they are talking about Harry's blood. If they think that gives magical protection they will be disappointed to see that backfire spectacularly. They seem to think rather highly of themselves if they think they can live up to such lofty promises.

I look forward to see what happens.

One of the things I'm eager to read about is Harry and Sif's meeting. :)

    I now ship Harry/Sif as I do Harry/Kara.

Well, Sif's showing up, and she has an enchanted sword. I think we all know what inevitable there. :p

If you've seen the movies or the comics, that's kind of how they work. Of course, if you know your comics, you know the Tesseract will get involved, and that thing can do some wacky stuff. Plus, that thing has a tendency to attract the wrong kind of attention. ;)

There's a couple people who suggested it - Harry had better hope that the whole Master of Death thing includes immortality or that'll be a rather momentary romance. :p

The problem with the immortality angle of the Master of Death title is that a big part of becoming the Master is the acceptance of the inevitability of death. Doesn't make a lot of sense for you to become immortal.

I have to say I'm enjoying the way Harry's story is going. He slips in and out of the other movies, playing a part in each of them; sort of like another Agent Coulson. But we still have hints of his own story arc, with actual tie-ins to ancient mythology.

Speaking of, the adding of an extinct wizard race leads to some interesting questions. Were the previous sorcerers more powerful inherently? Or less, due to HP wizards having a full millennium of time to advance their craft over the others? Did they both rely on wands, and Harry can learn more spells from his predecessor's teachings? Or were they masters of wandless magic, which the Magician can learn to utilize. Any artifacts for Harry to use? Would there have been a Hogwarts if the Jotun's invasion hadn't wiped out the Seidhr before its building? Really looking forward to finding these things out.

This part has me troubled. Are you trying to tell us that the army is going to unlock the magic in Harry's blood (to some extent at least), because they are gonna apply their knowledge gained from messing with the Tessaract?

    Please say no man. Please.

I agree. However, I do seem to remember that the author said in a previous post he wasn't going to have magic explained by science. I can safely guess that Harry's blood will add some knowledge to the army, but it is not going to explain what he does or how he does.
