Finally gave in and bought it for the PC. Have it for the 360.. but Workshop makes the PC version way too good to not have it again.

Thanks, not showing up on the main page so I probably wouldn't have noticed. Now I have Portal 2. ^_^

Do it. You don't need a super machine to run Witcher 1.

    ---------- Post automerged at 23:11 ---------- Previous post was at 23:00 ----------

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction is 75% off, at $4.99 USD for the next 8 hours.

The Deluxe Edition is $6.24 USD and has "Infiltration Mode, Shadow Armor and 3 bonus weapons". Has anyone played with the extra gear, and was it fun?

    ---------- Post automerged at 23:17 ---------- Previous post was at 23:11 ----------

You wanted Crusader Kings II? It's 75% off for the next 8 hours.

    Crusader Kings II $9.99 USD
Crusader Kings II Collection $12.49 USD

I'd go with the Collection if I were you. It's worth the extra money for the expanded gameplay and compatibility with mods.

edit: Actually, the Collection is missing the 3 newest bits of DLC, including the Islamic expansion.

Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam $9.99 USD [no discount]
Crusader Kings II: African Unit Pack $0.49 USD [75% off]
Crusader Kings II: Songs of the Caliph $0.49 USD [75% off]

    There's two paths I'd recommend.

Tight Ass: CKII [vanilla], Dynasty Shields, Mongol Faces, African Unit Pack, for $11.46. That gives you compatibility with all mods as far as I'm aware. It ignores the crippled Ruler Designer DLC and all of the music packs. Buy Sword of Islam when it comes on sale again.

Middle Road: CKII Collection, African Unit Pack, Songs of the Caliph, for $13.47. Buy Sword of Islam when it comes on sale again.

And the obvious third path is:

Bulging Wallet: CKII Collection, African Unit Pack, Songs of the Caliph, Sword of Islam, for $23.46.

I'm probably going to go with Swamp-Ass and just buy the basegame. My backlog is big enough that I can safely wait for the Winter Sale to buy the DLC if I want to. Anyway, thanks for this :)

I decided not to buy this. Apparently Splinter Cell Conviction is one of those Ubisoft games with very obnoxious, 24/7 DRM. Not all of Ubi's games are like that, but I don't buy the ones which are.

I got an error (An unexpected error has occurred. Your purchase has not been completed. Please contact Steam Support.) when trying to buy a few games yesterday, which was weird because it worked the day before.

The error code was kind of useless since it doesn't tell you anything...
I googled the problem and it seemed it'd work if you'd delete steam or used the web browser instead of the client. I tried it and it didn't work. So I sent a ticket. Which you have to make a new account to be able to for some reason.

"I've tried buying the games from the client and the website and I've deleted and reinstalled steam. I've checked with my bank and it's not a problem on their end."

    Steams reply:

"Thank you for contacting Steam Support.

Are you attempting to make the purchase through Steam or with a web browser using the storefront webpage?

If using Steam, try the following:

    If using a PC
-Exit Steam, then go to the location that Steam is installed to. By default this is C:\Program Files\Steam directory (this is the default with a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
-Delete all of the files except for:
    Steam.exe
    And the folder \SteamApps\

    If using a Mac:
-Exit Steam and go to the folder Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam
-Delete all of the files in this folder except for SteamApps.

Restart your computer and test the issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.

If the issue still persists, try using a web browser (Internet Explorer 7 or higher on PC, or Safari if on a Mac) to make the purchase using http://store.steampowered.com/

If it still fails, try logging into your Steam account and making the purchase directly through the Store interface.

Please let us know if you have further questions or concerns. "

What the hell is up with that?
I know they're probably swamped by tickets but why the hell would they just send out a answer without reading the ticket? It took them over a day so it wasn't just an autoreply message.

God damn it. And I really wanted those games too. I probably won't be able to get them for the sale price once they fix their problem. T_T

I've had that same problem, basically it comes down to using the regional Steam browser instead of the American one (or at least the one closest to where your debit card/credit card is billed to).

So, what do people think of Borderlands (Game of the Year version for $7.49)?

Because, I missed out on the Batman pack because I didn't know it had been on sale, and I missed getting Fallout 3/New Vegas dirt cheap because a friend from out of state was visiting and I didn't get back to my PC in time...

I found the single player to be a bit boring. Apparently the game really shines in Co-op.

If you have an Android phone or iPhone, then you can see all of the sales, chat with your friends, and of course buy games through the Steam app.

See, that's kind of what I heard; which is unfortunate, since I tend to be a single player type of person (which is undoubtedly encouraged by my connection only being 786k downstream).

Still, for less than 8 bucks, it might be worth it just to check out a few of those 7,750,000+ guns.

    I've got a rock.
    Seriously.

    Castiel got it.

Borderlands is worth it, for under 10 bucks it's a fun little game just to see the crazy weapons and the game.

There is also the fact that Borderlands 2 is slated to be released on September 18th to consider.

I gave myself $20 to spend on this sale. I was thinking of getting the Dungeon Defenders (played the demo, and it was cool, but boring solo) and maybe the dues ex package. Worth it?

DX: Human Revolution is good. The first game is said to be good, but I haven't played it yet. Apparently the second game isn't very good.

A number of you are waiting for ARMA II: Combined Operations to come on sale so that you can play the DayZ mod. It's 40% off now, which is the cheapest it's been this year.

    ARMA II: Combined Operations $17.99
