Clone? Jesus Christ. Well, I never followed Batman all that well. I just remember his brief presence as a BL in the Blackest Night.

PG in Comics. World's Finest #1 is her first issue that explained how she and Helena appeared in this universe. I think they've barely had time to print a third one. I'm not sure. But, if I had to guess then I'd say no, they haven't met. By the end of #1 though she was out of the Supergirl costume and in the new ghastly one.

Her and Kal haven't met, but almost it all of it (World's Finest and JL) goes AU after the fire with the exception of the GL stories, which are still canon so far. So if you're follow the Green Lantern title then you know what's coming next. I've made mention of Sinestro being capture by the Indigo Tribe. It's the consequences of the escape that I have in store for the future. Past that, it's all AU stuff.

    Two things.
    1. Doctor Fate hasn't been introduced to the 52-verse as of yet.
    2. His symbol is the Helm of Nabu.

The only place you'll see his ankh is the little glowy thing on the palm of his hand when he zaps people. I think I've seen him use a hand held ankh before, but it's been ages. The front of his uniform is blank. But that doesn't mean anything either with all the costume changes they've given out.

If anyone has a call on the ankh, it's Isis since it's originally hers, but she hasn't been intro'd yet either, and they've just now started introducing Shazam. Suffice to say I won't be changing it.

It was the body of his clone created by Darkseid when he was trying to find a way to break Bruce's spirit (Final Crisis). When Wayne disappeared trapped in the Omega Sanction, other heroes mistaken it for his real body.

Also, I read today that Morrison is leaving Action Comics after 16th issue. It was good when it lasted, I suppose. Now Superman once again will be a subject of mediocrity. And we all know that mediocrity is a terrible fate.

That's not true. Fate's symbol is the ankh. It appears a lot a round him. Hell, anytime he teleports he leaves a glowing ankh fading behind him. It is even in video games.

As far as Sandman goes, Death has this real Egyptian thing going on, with the Eye of Horus tattooed around one of her eyes and wearing an ankh for a necklace. Personally, I see it more as her symbol than anybody else's, but I'm sort of on the fringe of the comic books community, where I'm really only dedicated to Batman and this New-52 shit just sounds so unappealing that I may have to even drop B-Man.

    EDIT:
Because superhero videogames are such a great way to legitimize anything. Need I remind you that Deadpool shows up in the Spiderman games as a villain?

I have to second (third? whatever) the notion that the ankh is Dr. Fate's symbol. It shows up pretty much whenever he does something.

DCUO even has its own comic. It's an AU, but only in plot. The characters are the same.

Hey guys it doesn't matter if Dr. Fate and Death have the same symbol.

(But apparently it matters if the Punisher and Death have the same symbol)

In all seriousness though, that's the most nitpicky thing you could complain about. Just let it go.

I fail to to why the Ankh must be exclusive to Dr. Fate. I'm not much into comics or DC in general but wasn't Death around long before him?

    :facepalm

People are under a vast impression that this is the universe that they've all watched or read growing up. It's not. This isn't the Justice League Unlimited cartoon, nor is it a video game or whatever. It isn't even the New Earth Comics that it was just over a year ago. It's the New 52.

I keep saying it over and over, but it never seems to sink in. What you have read or seen in the past does not apply to this universe. A lot of things have changed.

Superman wears actual armor because he isn't that invulnerable without it.
    Barbara Gordon walks.
Poison Ivy is a member of Birds of Prey.
    Sinestro is a Green Lantern.
Power Girl doesn't show her breasts.
    Earth 2 actually exists.
Zatanna doesn't wear her top hat everywhere she goes -- though she still has the fishnets.
Wonder Woman is actually the daughter of Zeus and wasn't made out of clay. And she seems to use a sword on a daily basis.

Doctor Fate isn't anywhere to be seen and thus not a part of this universe... yet. So, this argument is pointless.

...Poison Ivy is a member of Birds of Prey? Weird.

Basically what Heather said. And worst case scenario, if DC introduces Dr. Fate to the New 52, she can throw in some comments of Harry and/or Death bitching about how Fate is ripping off Harry's gig.

Actually, he wears armor because Jim Lee thought it will look cool. Morrison have him more vulnerable in Action Comics, because it's happening 5 years ago, but in other titles Superman is as invulnerable as he always was.

Only on arms, not legs (yeah, I know).

    But the rest is right.

They've said this in the Superman titles? I don't recall, but then again I've only read a few of them.

    This^

If he pops up I think it'll be in the Earth 2-verse with the new Justice Society. That seems to be where they're allocating a lot of them; either that or the JL International (or whatever they're calling it.)

And yes, she is a member. There was some bitching at first, but she's a member. They've toned down her character to be less insane.

Sinestro may be a Green Lantern, but he became one after a long series of events. The GL continuity did not stop or reboot with the New 52.

I wasn't taking the New 52 or your fanfic (which I haven't read) into account. All I was saying (or at least MEANT to say) is that the ankh is far more iconic for Dr. Fate than for Death in the general sense.

Dr Fate can suck a dick. The ankh belongs to the the Death Knight now.

    Deal with it. 8D

Worst comes to the worst and they do (re)introduce him, it could make an interesting sub-plot with his relationship with (or, most probably, his proverbial ass being kicked by) Death.

Also, Dr. Fate =/= Death. You know, as in death.

Don't see what the big issue is.

Obligatory "moar plox" for Heather, too.

I was under the impression he was wearing Kryptonian battle armor out of respect to his heritage.

IIRC, he's supposed to becoming in the next few issues of Earth-2. He's already got a mention by Hawkgirl. So unless they end up in Earth-2 time soon, my objection is withdrawn.

If its such a big deal, just have Harry memory charm + confuse Dr. Fate into changing his symbol or some shit. Play it for laughs. Have Harry go all "I can't believe Death could be so petty about something like this.. ordering me to mess with this poor guys memory, oh well, his new symbol is going to be a penis."
