Prepurchased this today as well, hopefully it runs on my laptop. Can-You-Run-It says I fulfill all the requirements but am not sure how accurate that will be. Anyway, looking forward for the start.

Are servers depending on your location, continent and country and the like?

Your original server choices should be based upon your purchase region, but it's been a while since I chose my Beta server, so I can't recall exactly. That said, I'm reasonably sure that you can transfer to servers not of your original purchasing region, but it likely costs money(or rather, gems) to do so, like other server transfers within your region. Maybe not at launch, but I couldn't say for sure.


As for my intentions, well... Sylvari Mesmer, Asura Guardian, either Norn or Sylvari Ranger(just something about a Ranger wearing leaves that seems appealing), and who knows what else. I'll likely make an Elementalist before too long, but I can't say what race.

All this ignores any potential racial skill 'optimization' such as the Sylvari racial healing skill being quite comparably effective, or the relative Elites. Heck, at the moment in the Betas, all of the standard Mesmer Elites were unusable underwater. I can understand Moa Morph, since they are Terrestrial-only as Ranger pets too, but Mass Invisibility should work, same with Time Warp. We'll see what they decide to allow.

I figure that I might get to trying out those last three classes that I have yet to play, or maybe meet up with some of you. Who knows?

What's the difference between preorder and prepurchase? Preorder you have just said you 'want' the game but not paid anything, where as purchase you have actually paid ?

 

I'm guessing Pre-Order is basically you went to a store and put some, but not the full amount of, money down. Pre-Purchase is exactly as it sounds. Either Pre-purchased off of their site, or in-full at one of the various stores.

 

I'll be playing a sylvari warrior main with a sylvari ranger sub. The link has some interesting info on how damage is calculated if you're into that.

What Fen said: Pre-orders involve a down payment($5 usually), and pre-purchases are paid in full.

For this game a pre-purchase gets you access to beta events(now over) and stress tests, as well as a head start before the official release date.

Made a mock copy of the guild on the Beta realm for the moment, and sent invites to those players that have accepted my contact requests.

 

Trying to get on, but my client decided I needed to download another 26k files.

 

So... Dem gates in WvW. Fighting them with only five people and no war machines. I think the small group of us managed to deal about 10% of the gate's health in 10 minutes.
