I've been lurking for a while now, and this is my first post, so, here goes.

On page 23 or 24, everyone was talking about teaching Charmander Metal Claw to beat Brock, and to that I say: no. Onix and Geodude are all about Defense. Their Sp.Def is pretty weak. So, I use ember. Easy kills, especially in the original games (Red/Blue/Yellow)

As for starter runs: In Gold version, a level 50 Typhlosion can easily kill everything in the elite four. Just saying.

Except seeing charmander clawing Onix to death is pretty awesome and it's a handy move to have at that level.

Is it? I've always found Steel moves to be generally useless. Like, some of them are alrightish, but none of them do much of anything that another type can't do a whole lot better. Standard gameplay, mind you. I wouldn't know how good Steel is in competitive battling, as I'm waaaay too much of a sore loser to ever try it.

 

Yeah, in Firered and Leafgreen. But Charmander doesn't learn Metal Claw in the original Red and Blue. Therefore, I use Ember.

On the topic of steel, their ability to wall my shuckle makes me generally dislike them. :/

Deserves no better than to be walled and then killed by its own attrition medicine, and after it dies it deserves no better than to come back to life once more as a Shuckle zombie that only eats Steel Types it kills, but since it can't kill any of them, it's forced to live a hellish existence whereby its hunger is never sated, and it will be killed again and revived again, again and again, until one day it goes so mad that it tries to eat itself and ends its own existence, and after succeeding, after a billion years of intense attrition on itself, the cosmos rising and flaring into life and death all around it, the Shuckle will finally cease to exist, only to rise once more and repeat the cycle as the universe begins anew, the slightest memory faint on the back of its mind of a time where it felt the pain of all those it had killed and, even though it would feel the pain of its own death over and over and over and over, there would still be no measure to the pain it would inflict on itself each time it would have to unmake itself in the raging fires of the dying universe all around it.

And it. Totally. Fucking. Deserves. It.

 

That's a lot of rage. I stopped playing at Emerald, however, so I've never had any bad experience with one.

 

Seratin's Shuckle is overrated. C'mon guys, just ice that damn bastard! With a Mamoswine, preferably.

And lol; that is so not actual rage. It's a homage to the rage at that one time Seratin's Fucking Shuckle killed five of my own Pokemanz while it was frozen. What I said still stands, you know, horrible unending pain and the universe and cosmos and et cetera, but in a fond way. Fucking Shuckle.
