Maybe Tobi is a time traveler. When he gave his left eye to Kakashi he traveled back in time a certain amount of time, then all the things he said (planting the Rinnegan within Pain) won't be a lie nor a mistake by Kishimito.

 

I think everything Tobi said that he did when he was still pretending to be Madara was done by Madara himself. Simple as that.

Also, I don't think it's impossible for Obito to become almost as good as Minato in even a year. He is basically Naruto, yes? And we saw how his skills skyrocketed in just a year after the timeskip.

Anyway, I wonder if recent return of Oro means that the story will continue after the war or Kishi will deal with it before Madara and Tobi are defeated.

 

Really, what did Tobi even do against Minato that was so awesome? He only used his MS technique, but since it's so hax that was enough to put Minato's back against the ropes for a short while. As for manipulating the Kyuubi, I think just about any Uchiha could do that with a strong enough Sharingan. The pertinent question is why Obito would do all that when about a year earlier he was still one of Minato's loyal students, and a likeable one at that.

 

Quick question. Wasn't half of Obito's face crushed under the boulder? How, then, does he still have that Sharingan in that screwed up half of his face? It can't be implanted otherwise his Kamui wouldn't send things to the same dimension as Kakashi's Kamui. Shouldn't that boulder also have crushed his eye? Whoever fixed him up must have done a great job on that eye (giving him back full vision) considering the amount of skill it took to fix that face.

 

LOL. Just...lol. I'd say I'm quitting, but, honestly, I stopped actually reading the manga somewhere between the Moon's Eye Plan and Minato dying for no reason other than the author writing himself into a corner, and have just read the highlights funniest bits in this thread ever since.

What I love is that he's stopped being subtle in his trolling, though. Honestly, by the end, every fan theory from 2006 is going to be Canon. And it'll be fucking hilarious.

 

I don't think his head being crushed is an issue. If it were crushed then he couldn't have been talking to Kakashi at the time.

 

Yeah, his skin just got mauled and mashed up, and maybe his cranium cracked to some extent, but it didn't cave in or anything. As eyes tend to be inside sockets and can safely be pushed in a little, I don't see any reason why he would have lost his eye under the boulder's broadly distributed weight.

 

Kishi has little in the way of medical knowledge, and it probably would not occur to him that maybe Obito could not have said shit if he was being crushed by a boulder. The rule of cool says that Obito is allowed to make a deathbed statement no matter how implausible it is that he could have talked.

 

I don't think that much medical knowledge is needed to know that people don't talk with half their heads caved in.

 

Perhaps Obito used his sharingan to create a pocket dimension where he could control the flow of time which allowed him to make his great leap in strength in time to fight against Minato a year later . . . >_> That's sounds so bad I have no doubt it'll be canon. (Assuming he sticks with the original timeline. Which wasn't even that organized to begin with.)

 

Well...no one saw that one coming. I'd say it's disappointing but frankly it seems about par for the course with the way things have been going lately.

I won't speculate on the hows and whys, as I expect anything I say would be far too logical for Kishimoto to have thought of. I just hope that all the angst that's sure to come from Kakashi gets cleared up quickly. There probably won't be any real fighting until then.

Time to gear up for five weeks of pure dialogue!

 

I'll be okay with five weeks of Kakashi's angst if, say, one or two of my favourite Naruto fics got an update in that time. Eh? Eh!?

 

Obviously what happened is that Kakashi's chidori and Minato's rasengan collided over Obito's body, causing him to go back to the past, the backlash of this drove him insane, only remembering that Minato was the one to cause it all.

 

I think this Obito from an alternate realty and time traveling dark Obito! who traveled to Madara's time.

 

My guess is Zetsu possession.

 

I've got to wonder, how are these bullshit twists being received in Japan? Do the younger audience just accept it, or do they see the huge plotholes and inconsistencies like we do?

Seriously though I'm totally sad that this happened. The explanation better be not as bad as this. The only thing I can think of is old Hermit Madara used his swiss-knife!Sharingan powers to transfer his mind into a new body...

Obito is actually the one stuck in a Groundhog Day time loop, isn't he? The only way he can find to bring peace to the world is by fucking Naruto's life to hell so that he can rise up through adversity and do his Destiny's Child thing.
