Annndd post #1000 is mine. :3

And I agree with Dr SL. I'd love a bunch of friends to play Tekkit with.

Moving through youtube today I somehow ended up on a let's play of SkyBlock. And now I want to play it really bad. Single player gets boring quick, so anyone up for multi?

I think for SkyBlock someone can host the server on their PC so we don't need to find one.

I was watching Wipeout a few days ago, and thought we should have a DLP themed Minecraft Wipeout course. There would be obstacles named The Forbidden Forest, Jon's Lack of an Accent, Oz's Juggly Wuggly's, etc.

Anyone knows any good lag-less tekkit servers?

I used to play on a tekkit server with a bunch of friends, but we stopped paying for it this month. Anyone interested in helping pay for a DLP tekkit server?

How much did it cost per month? And was it lag-free or did you have problems?

I don't remember the full cost so far, but we all chipped in three pounds each month for its upkeep. Looking into proper costs now.

It wasn't lag-free most of the time, but when it was up and running it was pretty decent. Did have an instance where we managed to break it by having too much stuff going on, though. If we had a server up might need to put some bans on doing certain things like chunk loader blocks. The server would sometimes dc randomly, but it wasn't too much of a pain. I doubt we could go for the same providers if we wanted a DLP one, though, since there's more likely to be lag for non-England players.

I might be able to do that much if we can find more guys who are interested. I want a server to be able to play with a bunch of people. Right now I just do whatever I do in creative because mining alone is boring as hell, plus to make the really cool things you need a lot of rare items. At least doing it together will be relatively faster and more fun.

Meh, I would prefer one in Europe rather than the US (points at his location) but I played on DLP without any lag problems at all so I don't think the internet-lag is a problem for minecraft. It is the performance-lag I am more worried about.

Okay, so I checked. It was 9 pounds a month for a server with 20 slots. We didn't have 20 people, but we had the extra slots for more RAM since tekkit is prone to the lag.

I really doubt we will see more than 5-6 on together as long as its just us guys from DLP. So we can go for less slots if it gets us more RAM or something. Which hosting is it?

More slots is more RAM. Nitrous Networks was the one we had.

How many people would be interested in this? I know the guy who runs mpserv.net might be able to get a decent deal.

I'll chip in a couple of pounds per month if it means a stable server.

So that's five people who've said they'd be interested in tekkit in this thread so far. I'm thinking Lutris and probably CareOtters and Ollie would be as well.

    Drome
Lutris (I'm assuming from the thumbs up.)

I think the server might be 15-20 bucks at max so that is $5-$6.66 per player if it is just us 5.

Talk to your friend Jon, when you can.

I just went ahead and bought a VPS myself. 2GB guarranteed and 3 gigs of burstable RAM. Hopefully it will be enough. I set up tekkit and it seems stable though I haven't tried any big stuff (quarries etc) yet. Anyone who wants to join, send me a PM and I will give you the IP.

BTW do you guys wanna play on Peaceful or Normal/Hard?
