The fact those things even exists just makes me question the sanity of anyone over the age of 6 that watches the show to begin with. Doubly so if they're male. Bronies...

That Lyra one was actually made by some dude on a furry website and auctioned off. Only one, as far as I know.

That's like saying that because of existence of My Immortal everyone reading/writing HP fanfiction is a retarded 13-year-old fangirl.

Or it could be the fact that grown adults, notably mostly men fall in love with a show made for young girls and have an unhealthy obsession with animated ponies.

Still, given there's a perpetual hive of MLP fans I guess I'd best just leave it alone and stop the OT posts.

BsuperB: It's difficult to make anti-Bronies look bad, but you're still managing it.

ITT, complaining about shows you don't watch.

For future reference, pony-related things go in the pony thread precisely so we can avoid this horseshit (pun intended).

How retarded you look, it's best illustrated via find-replace. I don't even watch the show and never will but that sounds fucktarded to me. For effect, let's pick a few other things that this site likes in general...

Are you sure Arturia...Altria Arthuria Saber is 13?

Edit: Or do you mean the never aging thing from Avalon?

She's frozen in age pre-puberty, from the day she drew the sword from the stone. 14-15 at the max.

    Yes Fiat, because people walk around this site with signatures & avatars full of loli's & paedophilic material, not to mention they have their own dedicated threads. Oh, wait... The MLP thread's there for a reason, as is this one. Speaking of which;

Interested to know how people would react if they walked in drunk to that particular bar.

Arturia is 25 years old in FSN, 15 years physically.

On MLP, there's nothing wrong with liking it. Yes it's a kids show, but the majority of cartoons these days have engaging enough storylines and/or undertones that make it bearable for parents to watch them along with their kids. Sometimes this results in fantastic cartoons; for example, I like watching Phineas and Ferb with my nephew, and we all remember shows ranging from Samurai Jack to Kim Possible that are still great to watch even after we outgrew the target audience age group.

MLP is actually a pretty good show for what it is. I'm even watching it myself every once in a while, if only to find out what they do with Doctor Whooves (Doctor Who fan here). I think what disturbs most non-Bronies about the fandom is the sheer gushiness that the fans have for it--it's not quite that good. I'm about 9 episodes into the series, and I haven't gotten the zeal bronies have for it. And if a show doesn't hook someone in the first couple episodes, it rarely keeps people watching it for any longer.

I've said my piece, now I'll drop this line of discussion. No need to have a fan war on the thread dedicated to making people laugh.

    For real?

What led you to decide to indiscriminately find-and-replace MLP with series it isn't compatible for comparison with?

We all (or almost all) grow up with HP. Childhood nostalgia separates this, and other things such as the classic Disney films, from MLP. And the "mostly men" clause doesn't really come into play for the Harry Potter series, since it was written for both genders.

And I'll be consistent here. If you substituted MLP with something like, let's say Powerpuff Girls or something, then it'd be just as unusual.

Again, grew up with it, so entirely legitimate.

Can't speak to this, but this could well be true.

Just because people like something does not make it strictly 'normal' (as in, just as normal as being a baseball fan, for instance), and society is not obligated to accept their fascination as socially acceptable. In fact, responses like anti-brony-ness is a social obligation, so that we may maintain norms and make sure bronies are considered weird, and let other people know it's not fly. It's just part of the societal machinery that responds to developing fetishes (which MLP bronyism is at the hardcore fan level. I'm obviously not talking about casual fans). No resentment, no derision, no condescension, just natural order.

That's why there's no anti-HP (not as in a hatedom, but societal shunning) or no anti-Pokemon sentiment. Because it's normal.

May be a tough pill to swallow.

But what about all the magic and evil wizards, monsters fighting each other and more magic, hero battles and tainted magical objects that attract fans and not the stupid shit you pointed out.

Get this thread back on track. Derail it again and you are banned.

    Pic time.
