May I just point out the 'and featured' part of the C2 title.

I don't think it would hurt to have some of the better, well-written stories just lurking at the edge of fantasic thrown in with slightly more obviously fantastic. A broader selection of new stories wouldn't hurt either.

Whether or not Potter, No Angst should be in is entirely not up to me and I won't be advocating too strongly for fear of every damn author trying to get their story in. If it makes it on its own merit, however... kick ass.

You guys have short memories. If you re-read the start of the thread, the C2 always included fics that were below 5 stars, if they were from DLP authors.

I've tried to make this post a couple of times from work, but our internet has been pretty dodgy, so it never quite made it. Just want to confirm what Taure and Averis said, Featured Authors are anyone who's been a loyal member of DLP for a few years and whose writing I consider good enough to not be totally embarrassing ;D

As far as I'm concerned Jeram is a DLP author, his omission was probably an oversight on my part. If anyone else thinks they've been unfairly omitted, feel free to contact me.

For what it's worth, any part of this C2 is completely open for discussion for recognizable members of DLP (ie, more than 10 posts) though I won't promise I'll definitely take your suggestions and enact them immediately, this C2 is a product of DLP's combined efforts, no single person's hard work. I'm open to suggestions.

I have gotten a barrage of notifications just today. Only 4% are reviews, of course, but that's to be expected. I'm just glad they aren't all from the same person (it happens).

Yes, I think it is.

 

It does read as being a giant info-dump sometimes, and even though I personally don't like the direction it's gone in, the level of complexity in the writing (especially Dumbledore's characterization, and Alex's interactions) rivals that of 'other' DLP fics; this warrants its inclusion.

 

It takes all kinds I suppose. A lot of people probably wouldn't associate my semi-humorous, teen pseudo-romances with DLP, yet We'll All Fall and Potter, No Angst are both in there. Its not all about '5 star quality' anyway, as we've already discussed. Taure is a solid writer, and though the info dumps do take a toll, we know that's because he's thought so much about the theory.

I do support showing not telling.

 

I'd like to suggest The Wizard from Earth by Roarian. I think it qualifies with both the 5 stars (4.46) and the featured author?
