You gotta admire his dedication if nothing else. I am half tempted to force myself to read it just for that.

250k words chapter is impressive. Without a single mention of a word "Harry", too.
    Nor Ron. Nor Hermione.

There's one mention of Dumbledore, one mention of Snape, and I can't understand why I should care for a completely OC cast.
It's like you took the after-second-travel Delenda Est and deleted everything that was remotely good.

Seems like the author have no sense of self-control then. That is one attribute I really hate to see.

What if Harry Potter was sent to Azkaban for killing Cedric Diggory? What if a Hufflepuff questioned his conviction?
    Rated: Fiction T - English - Angst/Romance - Susan B. & Harry P. - Chapters: 27 - Words: 136,556 - Reviews: 990 - Favs: 1,189 - Follows: 1,541 - Updated: 09-23-12 - Published: 01-07-11 - id: 6633092

Not a bad fic (not great either) but you do see a Harry who is more realistic about his release from Azkaban.

While not exactly a game changer, this story has a Harry who is cynical/unforgiving who uses the Bones's an excuse to get close to Harry.

While the romance is a little much (no soul bond/marriage contracts as of 17 chapters) it is worth noting that Harry is using the entire system to his advantage, to the point where I find him annoying.

It's different from what I normally read it's still decent. I'd give it 3/5.

EDIT: chapter 19 isn't the greatest, but I still say "Almost Recommendable" was good enough. This isn't "The Santi" or "Joe" quality but it's bood enough to waste a few hours on, IMO.

You have to admit, it does seem like an awful lot of trouble to go to, just to rub one out.

But, they do say you can't love anyone else until you love yourself... :sherlock:

Sorry but that bashing galore is a 0/5 fic on my scale. It's so obviously bad ranting about it is just a waste of time.

This story is ridiculous. But to be fair, all of these stories are. I can never seem to get behind the premises. In fact, I propose a new Potter Law: It is impossible for Harry to get wrongly convicted.

Like all good Potter Laws, this can be broken, but like all good Potter laws, most importantly there's a reason it's there: Because typically, it results in shit like retarded deus-ex-machina magics to explain Harry's behaviour, completely OOC characters to explain the testimonies, and nonsensical "courts" and a wtflol blitz-session to explain the conviction.

In other words, you kick the suspension of disbelief in the nuts, and then declare: See, it worked. And sorry, that's just a shitty way to write stories (and this one has it all, plus the retarded killing-Hedwig trope).

See Fool Me Twice for how a biased trial can work -- but of course, to write that, you'd need to know at least a little of the subject matter. Most authors don't have that, just like with political stuff. I don't think I've ever seen a trial for Harry that didn't make me roll my eyes.

A huge number of readable works suffer from this problem as well. The authors often make major revision to the personality of various characters without providing an adequate explanation for such a change.

Uh... You realize you just quoted YOURSELF right?

And yes its already a fic that most people will say "NO!" to because of:

    AND:

    Why?!

    Not mention:

    There's 46. Sorry 61! 61 FUCKING SONGS.

    WHAT?

    WHY!?

A song fic is bad. But a song fic usually has One song. Thats it. And the story is based around that one song?

    This has 61 songs.

    No. Just... No.

    As for your newest Rec:

    No.

I made a post yesterday and deleted it because I felt bad for picking on you, Xakoro. I no longer have this problem. It is blindingly obvious you will not fit in. You should just get your coat and hat from by the door and just leave now while its still relatively nice....

Title: The Star Hegemony by RahXephon.
    Fandom: Harry Potter/Mass Effect crossover.
Summary: After Voldemort, Harry Potter hoped his fight was over. Yet as his friends and allies are murdered in a brutal fashion, Harry struck back harder, especially towards witches. As a Dark Lord, Harry nearly destroyed the magical society after a century, only to fail and be transported to an alien slave camp in space. Will Harry be able to save humanity, or doom it even further? AU.

This is written by the same guy who wrote The Star Empire (which had like 3-4/5 in the library I think?), the story where Harry wakes up in the future and becomes a space pirate. In this story, Harry wakes up in the future and becomes a space pirate - but it's set in the Mass Effect universe. Most of the human race has been enslaved by the Batarians and Harry sets himself up by breaking out of a slave camp with some ex-Alliance personnel (that you'll recognise from the games) and stealing a ship. From there they do the whole pirate thing, raiding the Batarians and selling to the human remnants.

Posting it to Almost Recommended because it has a lot of the stuff that made people dislike the previous story, which it is very similar too. Rapist Harry, etc. Supposedly he's toning it down so that this story isn't taken down too, but from what I've read it's just as extreme.

Still, it's already 80,000 words in an interesting setting (not really necessary to have played Mass Effect either) with a good update pace, so if the more questionable elements don't bother you it's worth reading.

I think this is the first time I've ever read a story where the author is as brutal as possible just to 'cull the squeamish.' I didn't read The Star Empire or The Star Alliance, so i don't really know what to expect.

Expect that once it starts going down hill, it will go down fast. Having read TSE, I suspect this may be the same guy who turned up ages ago and I trolled off of DLP because he wrote some story about Harry having a threesome Gabrielle, Fleur's sister, and some other chick... Might have been Fleur... Not bad in itself, outside of the fact that it was a 4th year story.

Oh, but then Gabby is suddenly shocked to discover that, while tonguing her asshole, Harry has begun to eat the shit pellets stuck in the hair of her ass.

TSE was kind of like that in the beginning. Then it only got worse. >_>

They only "fell" off because you didnt unbutton it when you went down to the park to expose yourself to schoolchildren...

"Yet as his friends and allies are murdered in a brutal fashion, Harry struck back harder, especially towards witches."

Every time I read that sentence and the history of his original story I get the ugly impression the guy has some serious and dangerous mental deformation.
He fantasizes a lot about rape + violence and that not in some way you think it's a logical element of the story's context but because he enjoys it. Good writers can write about things in a detached way but most fanfiction shows far more about the writer's personality than they might want to. This guy here is imho dangerous.
