So much stupid and horrible. Guess it was inevitable that after we got a couple half-decent chapters of Yamamoto being badass Bleach would go back to horrid to make up for it.

Well, at least Zero Division is showing up. That might be ... not completely and utterly horrid. Maybe. If we're very lucky.

 

Well, I will disagree and say that it wasn't a bad chapter in my opinion. Sure, I disliked how Yamamoto was defeated, but it already happened in the last one. What I liked about this one was a quick look into the Soul Society past and how they changed since then, because it may say something about characters of the the Zero Division's older members and, interesting enough, about Unohana.

 

Par for the course, really. Sure the tidbit about the Gotei 13 being wild was kind of okay, but really, I saw this being done so much better in Hammered Down, the superior take on Bleach.

Couldn't care less about the zero squad as well, just hope to see Retsu's bankai before this ends.

Ichigo makes a flashy entrance.

 

Of course Ichigo breaks free just in time to cock block us from seeing squad zero. But I guess there's always the chance they'll show up anyway because Yamamoto is dead, plus I've got a feeling heads are going to roll now that Ichigo's here.

Ps. In the previous chapter did it say that the reason Yamamoto isn't a special war asset is because he was injured?

 

Nah, the reason why he wasn't considered is because he's gotten "weak" over the years, never "following things through". Just read the villain's monologue about how Yamamoto turned from a cold-hearted BAMF into someone with pride and things to protect, which in his opinion turned him weak.

 

That was a nice entrance. Not suprising that Byakuya's still around given how unemotive his 'death' was; I actually felt something this time around.

It's not like the Royal Guard wouldn't show up just because Ichigo arrived. Unless he literally kills everyone in the opposing army, his presence is likely near-inconsequential from their POV i.e. a useful asset rather than a game breaker.

Assuming they even know about him.

 

Ichigo sure looks more injured than the last time was saw him. Is that because he fought with the mysterious person?

 

Mangastream's version is up which makes the chapter a lot less confusing. Shame about that damn fanart.

@Celestin: It might have simply been a result of him breaking through one of the barriers since we saw an explosion when he got 'outside'.

Ichigo was disappointing and instead of seeing his hollow powers make a comeback we get this.

 

Seems to be following the usual pattern of powerups, though;

Shinigami are the enemy? Get own powers fully realized. Hollows all over the place? Mask control time. Quincies shooting the realm up? Hello Blut Vene.

 

God fucking damn it, now Ichigo is human-shinigami-hollow-quincy hybrid.

You could probably shoehorn that into the human category. If he even counts anymore since he hasn't shown any fullbring-esque tech since it was taken from him.
