This is a pretty good, well written story with a prolific update rate. It's basically a novelization of the first game (so far) from Liara's perspective, and the author absolutely nails her characterization, as well as those of the other Normandy squadmates.

I actually think it's a library quality story, but since it's essentially a straight novelization with not much added (as of chapter 12, that is), your mileage may vary. There's still a heavy focus on Shepard (Colonist/War Hero male soldier ), and it provides an analysis of him through the eyes of well characterized Liara narrator. It's not as good as Fight for the Lost or Emergence, but it's still well worth a read if you're a fan of the original source material.

As an aside, this is the only Mass Effect story I've read that portrays the MAKO as the badass motherfucking tank of destruction it should be.

Having read farther into the story, you can see a lot more original content such as

the Illusive Man making contact with Shepard on one of the Cerberus bases he destroys during his missions pertaining to Admiral Kahoku, Liara's research paper, the meeting of the Alliance admiralty on Arcturus Station, and some of the minor side missions have been altered to increase importance.

I'm enjoying this far more now that it's not simply a pure novelization.

Here is a weird story about Loki going to therapy. A pretty interesting read in my opinion, its really a very long character study than any kind of story I think, but interesting all the same.

And Start Your Very Own Secret Ninja Organization. Three months into Naruto's training trip Jiraiya must leave him behind to go to check on a situation in Iwa, leaving Naruto to his own devices. Naruto thinks everything he did makes perfect sense, Kiri thinks he is a cult leader, Tsunade thinks she doesn't get paid enough to dealt with this. 100 drabbles format.

Basically, this is Naruto's version of Mister Black from Rorschach's Blot. This Naruto isn't projected as an all consuming Dark Lord like Mister Black, but the premise remains the same.

Very amusing and a decent time waster. I quite like it.

Not the grandest piece of work, but I definitely enjoy it. Its kind of a poor substitute to 'Never Cut Twice' in terms of pointless humor stories, but that doesn't mean its not enjoyable.

I'd actually kind of like to see something else with an Itachi/Kisame dynamic from NCT... D: Begging Kisame to kill a mouse with Samehada was lulz.

Flashbacks, interstitial scenes, and backdoor dealings. A companion to ME2 focusing on characters and worlds, big and small.

I don't know how many of you guys follow ME stories. When I searched for this author, the only one I found was in this post, well over two years ago.

Even if you don't usually read ME, I highly suggest reading the latest chapter that was just updated. It's so well done that I honestly thought this was canon. The part with Admiral Gerrel was awesome.

For those of you that need to be reminded of which scene the last chapter covers, it's the part where Tali receives summons to be tried for treason (Mass Effect 1). This has to be my favorite chapter ever.

This hasn't been submitted for the Library? I feel this is a fic deserving of a 5/5. The depth the author has given to the world of ME makes me wish they had worked on the series from ME1.

My favourite chapter so far would have to be the Wrex focused one, covering some of his activities as Warlord, and the moment when
he declared what amounts to the krogan's version of holy war on the Reapers.

At least the Slayer was safe » reviews Buffy doesn't get "volunteered" for trick or treat duty, but Willow and Xander do, and Willow had an idea... YAHF with a warning that multiple characters have diedBuffy: The Vampire Slayer - Rated: T - English - Drama/Adventure - Chapters: 7 - Words: 23,738 - Reviews: 118 - Updated: 10-27-12 - Published: 3-2-12 - Willow R. & Xander H.

This was a surprisingly fun story, remixing the elements of S2 after Willow permanently turns into a Medusa (sort of) for Halloween. It was fun all around with no bashing (from a perfect lionheart challenge, one would expect a shitty bash-fic, but this is not) and cool character development. It's been forever since I read a Buffy non-crossover that I was actually eager to keep reading, so this was a breath of fresh air (sort of short though).

In a world where Naruto is an adult. Where he was born before the third shinobi war. He is beguiled by his past, haunted by his mentor's death and stuck in a loop since that time. Come and see as adult Naruto watches a new generation soar into the sky

As usual, I did a search for the story on DLP. No one has posted this story on DLP before -- though the author is a DLP member. His first (and only) post can be found here.

Anyway... the premise is exactly as it sounds. Naruto is older -- 25 years -- and from all accounts (I'm only up to chapter 3) is OP, able to curbstomp anyone. He is not the jinchuuriki -- Konohamaru is. Minato is not his father, but his mentor. He dresses like Kakashi. He's a survivor of the Uzio (sp?) massacre.

    Now, onto criticism:

The narration is very flowery and overly descriptive. I do have to give the author props -- he knows how to describe the surrounding well -- a little bit too well, in my opinion. Some of the characters seem stiff and forced.

And the less said about the fighting scene, the better. The author, for all of his descriptive skills, is quite terrible at describing the fight scenes. I had to reread the fight scenes several times before I understood what was going on. Grammar is very good during normal day to day narration, but when you get to the fighting scenes, it becomes downright terrible -- part of the reason why I had to reread the passages multiple times.

Now, I do have to give the author props -- he went to a completely new direction with Naruto, and a lot of things are completely different. The story still progresses through the major plotline as the canon (academy graduation, scroll theft, wave arc...) but the details are different.

But, here's what I don't like about this story -- infodump. Sure, the whole story and plot doesn't follow canon, and character stories and events are different. Kakashi, for example, is actually a model shinobi. That's neat to see. But he starts going on and on about all these characters in Naruto... Nawaki is alive! Sandaime is dead! X is dead! X didn't happen! X did happen! How do you expect me to keep track of all the changes?!

Sigh. This story has so much potential, but the flaws... if I were to rate it, it'd rate a 2.5/5, maybe a 3/5 if I was feeling generous.

    EDIT:

I read up until the last chapter. I have to say, despite the rampant grammar error (did I say it was rampant?), the fighting scene was good. Very good. I was hooked, literally at the edge of my seat. The author definitely knows how to describe an epic battle.

The premise is pretty old (Ichigo works with his Hollow) but the execution is damn good. I'm only on chapter 22 right now, and it's already in the final Aizen fight, so I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes when it runs off of its rails, but I'm willing to recommend it even as it is.

I'd say the execution's "not bad" rather than good. It's okay if you want a story where Ichigo and co. are more proactive about training and don't mind mediocre writing or some rather weird, off-putting ideas.

    Feeling Hollow

Instead of visiting the Vaizard, Ichigo realizes that fighting and defeating his inner hollow isn't the only way to deal with his problem. Could the two possibly form an alliance? Chapter eight up! Getting back up again!

Personally I prefered this one out of the two. From what I remember this was of better quality, although don't quote me on that. Still I found it to be more enjoyable and one of the better Bleach stories I managed to find in my brief forays into the FF.net lot.

Apparently, the author has no experience with commas whatsoever. It makes the story very annoying to read. Besides that, the plot is not captivating.

Hey, I Did a quick search and didn't find this particular story on the site, so i thought i'd put it in the almost recommendable thread. First off, i Know nothing about the universes that Rick Riordan has created, so I have no idea how in character the people in this fic are. That said, the author does an average execution, while filling in the blanks that should be general knowledge in the fiction universes . Story wise is nothing write home about, it' nonetheless something that a myth nut might like and be interested in. I especially liked magic and powers? but hey I'm a rick Riordan noob, so mileage may vary.

    I give it a 3/5

Not exactly the greatest story ever, but a good time waster/guilty pleasure. The set up is kind of weak, true... The TL-DR is that post Aizen, Ichigo tries to get back into his body, it turns to dust, Yamamoto decides to retire and uses it as a good excuse to make Ichigo the CapCommander. Kind of a bit too quickly, for my tastes, but like I said. Not grand...

    Billed as Sui-feng/Ichigo.

Here's a bit of a weird one. I'd call it less of a crossover/fusion and more of the Pokemon universe being superimposed onto the Naruto universe. It's just there. If anything, it's actually a little frustrating just how little of a deal is made over there being little sentient monsters running around.

Fans of both Pokemon and Naruto will enjoy it somewhat (YMMV), but it is definitely almost recommendable material. There's long stretches where the story drags, the author likes introducing OC's with absolutely no introductions, and some of the superimposed mechanics are strange. But it does have its good points, too. The writing is sound and very descriptive, characterization is consistent, and the world-building is done quite creatively.

The absolute best I can give it now is 3.5/5, but I'm padding that number a bit because which pocket monsters are featured; some of my favs were included.

Is this a story where the Naruto ninja also have pokemon in their battle arsenal? As in, you see Konoha ninja throw pokeballs and shit or are the pokemon just wild animals/summons?

Like the summary says, when students graduate and if they're judged fit by Arceus, they're bonded to a Pokemon partner. Pokeballs don't exist. Instead, a seal appears on their arm which allows them to summon their partner from parts unknown. Also mentioned in this 'universe', there are unbonded, roaming pokemon that can be challenged by unbonded ninja for their partnership.

It pans out to 'one ninja-one pokemon' and a deeper connection than "Bitch be trippin' balls." There's also still regular wild animals like rabbits and fish and not just Lopunny and Magikarp replacements. So...about halfway between wild animals and summons.

I feel the need to point out that Maes Hughes makes an appearance in Chapter 2, if he suffers his canon fate, I will be blaming you for any rain that day.

I've always found that kind of funny about the pokemon world. Its like do normal animals exist or have they all been replaced by the pokemon equivalent? And does that mean everyone is strictly vegetarian since it seems to be accepted that pokemon are self aware/sentient.
