Don't forget that Obito was also a big reason that the Uchiha Massacre happened. This is something I just can't really wrap my head around. I get why Madara might want revenge on the clan that he feels betrayed him, but I really don't get why Obito would actively conspire to wipe out his whole family. He seemed perfectly okay with allowing Itachi and Sasuke to do their thing, and they were strongest of the bunch and the most able to foil his plans, if that indeed was Obito's concern.

In other words, with this big reveal it now seems like Obito did what he did out of pure spite instead of having a legitimate reason for doing it, even if that reason would have been revenge. Obito had no reason to seek revenge against all the people he ultimately killed.

 

The only reason I see it making sense is that he wanted to eliminate anyone that could stand a chance of interfering - sort of what the joint forces are doing ATM, but with a hell of a lot more impact. If he allowed his clan to survive and they started turning up Mangekyō by the time the Juubi was revived... just look at what Danzo, an outsider with no particular foreknowledge of the Mangekyo or the Sharingan's secrets, unlocked over time - Izanami.

Then picture whole swaths of Amaterasu instead of the pathetic Katon the Sarutobi clan just used.

Why he allowed Itachi and Sasuke to live I can not picture, though.

 

The plot demanded it.

It also demanded for Itachi to not tell anyone about the guy whom he suspected to be Madara Uchiha and, like a moron, kill his whole family, so, not that unbelievable.

 

I highly doubt Obito was worried about Uchiha unlocking the MS in bulk. They haven't so far in their history why would it suddenly start now? I remember someone saying a while ago that Uchiha may have eventually broken out of the Eternal Tsukuyomi Tobi is planning on casting. That seems like reason enough.

 

Completely off-topic: is anybody watching the Naruto Shippuden Anime?

The new little filler arc is quite interesting so far, and there's a fair bit of potential in it.

 

I saw the first ep of it. Might watch some more.

 

New Chapter

Pretty good, if for no other reason than having shit get a bit real.

 

Well, let's see if they are really dead or if they are going to be lolsaved by Kushina or something, who miraculously appears as an Edo Tensai and wrecks the Jyubi's shit.

 

Yeah. I would not be surprised to learn in the next chapter that Kakashi used Kamui to teleport to the HQ, grab all the people with names (the rest are fodder anyway) and teleport to safety before the juubidama hit.

Or failing that, Naruto will TNJ Obito, who will then use his rinnegan and the power drawn from Juubi to perform a truly monumental Rinne Tensei which will resurrect everyone that died in this entire war.

Still, I did kinda like the new form of Juubi. It looks pretty bizarre, and I like the fact that it now looks more like somekind of eldritch abomination. Could still go a bit further though.

 

It's also massively better animated and drawn than even two episodes ago.

 

I liked this chapter, but I hope Shika and the hq team stay dead.
Anyway.... Juubi does something!!!

 

The death of Shika won't be so abrupt, without any flashbacks from his son. He's still alive, or will be resurrected.

 

A character in Naruto is not dead unless they get reanimated as an Edo Tensai.

Yeah. If next chapter is Shikaku and Inoichi flashbacking, we'll know they're dead for sure.

 

Orochimaru had a flashback. Just saying.

 

That's because Kishi wanted him dead and only later on decided that no one is truly dead in Naruto universe, except if you're in the belly of the shinigami.

 

Just like Gaara, Sasuke and Neji. Most important fights had flashbacks.
