Holy crap. I wonder if Amazon will try and PM this? They've been very aggressive in matching Steam this year, not to mention some of their other deals they've bundled together.

Probably steam screwing up, though THQ *did* just file for bankruptcy.

    Either way brilliant deal.

The THQ bundle on Steam has been that cheap all sale. This is exactly the same as the cheap bundles on Amazon and the THQ Humble Bundle; a means of generating quick cash.

That said, if you don't have a lot of those games and have any interest in more than one or two of them, buy it. Such a ridiculously good price.

Gee, I can see why you can't buy a 4-pack of a game if you already own a copy.

I mean, if you don't own a copy, and you buy a 4-pack of, say, Terraria to give away, they make (at the current price) $20.09. However, if you already own a copy, then they only make $20.09... plus whatever you spent on your original copy. Tragic.

The difference is obvious; I mean, it's like we're practically stealing from them in that second scenario... or something.

Yeah, that makes complete sense. I can totally understand why they'd want to stamp out that kind of thing: Buying MORE of something. Tsk. :facepalm

Sure, you could buy those 4 copies at full price, but how many people would happily do that when the bulk discount is staring them in the face? Especially if they already own a copy.

Well, Gamersgate is catching a shit ton of flak. They're refunding everyone who bought the Bethesda Holiday Collection as well as the 4 pack of Borderlands 2. No idea if they're going to revoke redeemed steam keys as well but a lot of people are pissed, especially since Gamersgate originally was going to honor the deal but I guess changed their minds today.

Wow, didnt realize anyone could do that. Traditionally if a store fucks up and misprices something and you make it out the door, it's yours. I've never heard of take backesys from a store like that. Thats going to ensure I dont buy a damned thing from them ever again.

Amazon's done it for ebooks. I think they even remote erased the books from Kindles. Wasn't for pricing though. Amazon wasn't supposed to have sold them iirc.

Ironically iirc, some of them were George Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm

Stores can't do anything about it since you've already walked out the door with the product. For digital games, ownership is a lot murkier. It's way easier to revoke games and in this case, removing games from your own GG account.

Removing activated keys on Steam will need Valve to ok it so it's less likely to fly with them but still within the range of possibility, not ruling anything out atm.

I really doubt they are going to revoke steam keys, but this is making them look really bad. It basically looks like gamersgate doesn't know how to run a store. They were even selling games after they ran out of keys. GMG and Amazon both will suspend sales when they run out so that they can contact the publishers and get more.

The thing is, they're not out of steam keys for those games, it's just an excuse. People have already noted that the current Bethesda Collection at the higher price and Borderlands 2 at the higher price both have keys ready to be distributed upon purchase.

Sleeping Dogs is less than $5 on Steam right now. I don't know how this happened, but Sleeping Dogs is 91% off.
