That's probably true, but it could also be the case that her akali is the only character she can play at any reasonable level to compete with. (In which case she should have banned better.)

Just wanted to disagree that the first pick mid is inherently bad. She could've still done very well even without banning her counters, if she was actually practiced with akali, and I'm of the opinion that it's always better to play what you know you are good at. If you're first pick, you shouldn't shy away from mid if that's what you're good at.

...This is ignoring the fact that her Q->R->Auto/E->Q->Auto/E->R->Q->R->E...(Ignite and other autos as fitting) combo should easily be able to outburst you.

Then again, it sounds like she was fighting you extensively pre-6/7, so I'm going to go with Churchey and just say that she was bad. Not an impossible endeavor, but certainly foolish more often than not. Especially if she couldn't go in with Rammus and not force you to flash or die.(or flash AND die)

Whenever I was first pick for ranked, I would always leave malphite and amumu unbanned, if I was lucky, they would blow their third ban on one of then (normally malphite) and I would just jungle munmu ;3.

So TIL I'm actually pretty stupid. Enemy team first picked Sona. I was first pick so I assumed I'd supp, guy locked in Soraka instantly. Kind of baffled me but I went Noct jungle.

THey raped bot lane with Soraka/Sivir vs Ez/Sona. I completely forgot Soraka's passive just shuts down Sona's poke. I felt so stupid after the game, though rushing Bulwark worked really well for us too. Bonus 46 MR? Why not! Shame Ahri & Sona were their only AP champs, but still. I have so much to learn/remember when it comes to support =\.

Edit; Nice to see people still don't buy pinks vs an Eve and wonder how she kills them though. We get a competent Mord for once but still I'm the only person buying pinks. Fml. Still, I'm not sure whether I'm at the stage where I should feel good when we do well bot, or whether I shouldn't because the other pair are just worse than me/us. Just won a game as Janna vs Leona and it felt like she was a bad Leona (2 wards, philo stone items start), though I played 1/14/15 over the 5/0/26 I probably should've played as Janna, idk.

That's honestly largely untrue. Of all the ap mids, Mordekaiser is probably one of the few that Akali cannot burst down. Mordekaiser's WEQ will mitigate most of Akali's burst, and if Akali fully commits, then a R will continue to wittle Akali / probably kill her if ignite is up.

Still, a Mordekaiser cannot stop a good Akali from farming unless both sides of river are warded, and enemy doesn't have a strong jungler. Nonetheless, in a solely 1v1 lane, there's not much an Akali can do. But I agree in general with what Churchey said.

Normally I'd agree with Fen on this one (given that he plays Akali a lot and is very good. For reference sake he builds a sword of the occult successfully...) if you are even in lane with an Akali you should be able to outtrade her and survive her burst, otherwise you are just a poor excuse for Mordekaiser.

Fun fact - Soraka/Sivir @ level 5 is THE safest lane combo ever.

So I'm in Spain now, and tried to play on NA server just to test it out. It is absolutely unplayable. Debating whether it would be a good time to finally quit LoL for half a year or create a EU west account. :/

On the one hand, it wouldn't be incredibly difficult to pick back up.
On the other, lol you can't quit lol.

Almost as big a lie as 'LoL is a free game.' Took me 6 weeks before I bought anything.. Well, at least I'm not a maniac when it comes to skins. Depends really whether you want the hell of levelling up, or buy an Xp & IP boost to make it... quickish, grab some runes & so on.

I'd personally play through the hell of normal games, it's normal and well.. practise is practise, even though it'd be one helluva stupid disadvantage. Plus side; You're in Spain. Pretty sweet place, despite the er, economic situation.

I've spent like 280$ on LoL. I've only bought two champs with RP and I bought most of my skins on sale.

    I have a problem. >.>

While I can definitely agree with the trading comment... why would a [reasonably intelligent] Akali actually be trading with a Morde =? Although, if you know the Jungler isn't around, have decent health, and know Morde just used his E, a quick R-Q-E-W(lack of Jungler being potentially relevant due to the long W cd) isn't too terrible.

That said, with somebody like Morde, you either mostly leave him be, or you catch him out of range of escaping to safety(or have a cc-jungler to help), and your sustain combined with lower-cd sustained damage until he dies should work fine. Obviously best done without allied minions for him to gain shield off of. Plus, you've got your own Ignite, which reduces both spellvamp and whatever he might heal from Ulting you.

Sure, Morde gets shields, but his cd's are longer, and you should be healing more than him with your lower cooldowns giving more persistent damage as well as higher spellvamp.

Maybe it helps that I run mres/lvl glyphs and almost always rush my merc treads right after revolver, also giving me more mres, but I just don't really expect a Morde out-damaging/surviving a relatively equal level/build Akali if both go all in as a 1v1.

Obviously we each have our own biases, though, so I'm more expressing my experience rather than trying to convince you.

Wow. Leblanc is so freaking easy to play. I don't understand how you do not go 5+ kills in early game.

edit: Akali should honestly just roam in that matchup to bottom and get 2 kills then come back to lane and rape Mordekaiser with her all in. After the first tower even with wards, lacking jungle support Mordekaiser in middle or top can't push in to the t2 safely if he is against an Akali since he turns from "an easy gank" to "free food, no summoners required."

I think you underestimate Mordekaiser's damage tbh. If he lands a full combo with ignite, he can easily 100-0 someone. If you want to count "persistent" damage, then, yeah, perhaps Akali can eventually outdamage Mordekaiser. But if we are just talking about straight burst, than Akali's burst gets cut by almost half by Mordekaiser's shield, and Akali WILL die. Granted, a Mordekaiser can't really kill an Akali unless the Akali dashes him, but it's what makes "trading" completely unfavorable to Akali. You can talk about building MR, but then it can easily be said that Mordekaiser can get a negatron after revolver (pretty common actually against tougher lanes).

Mordekaiser isn't interested in allowing a situation where Akali or Mordekaiser wants to trade a full burst in the first place. You have the innate advantage in lane, start health pots and 2 wards, and then use your E to stand with your creeps and hit her. Akali has 2 choies, eat an E and get the CS, or lose it. Either way, you win because she is getting a CS and you are getting free damage, or she is trading with you and your shield eats it. Otherwise, you aren't positioning correctly.

Mordekaiser has to be played in lane as a bully, and your harass of the opponent under the tower is pretty much unparalleled. If you are allowing them to get any CS at all, you aren't playing Mordekaiser right, since he is incredibly strong in that role. Even under their own tower is not safe (as a melee taking melee creeps, or a ranged taking ranged creeps. Ranged on melee is always safe) since your E has 700 range. I just played a game where after 10 minutes the enemy Garen (nominally a counter lane) had 21 cs to my 80+. That is not atypical vs a melee bruiser (Garen, Darius, WK, etc.) for me.

TL:DR Mordekaiser wants to disallow any situation that would incline an opponent to all-in you because he is a bully.

What? Mordekaiser loses to (as a cursory list without jungle ganks) Olaf, Skarner, Xin, Kayle, Annie, Cass, Garen, Gragas, Karthus, Oriana, Ryze, and Yorick. With ganks basically anyone with a CC to follow up the jungle gap closer/CC/positioning.

TL : DR Walkingdisaster talks out his ass.

Karthus? Who the hell looses mid lanes to KARTHUS. The guy doesnt kill you, he kills the other lanes. The bruisers? Why are you laning vs them. Morde is a midlaner, not a top laner. Gragas would turn into a push war (providing equal skill levels).

Why is Skarner even in the lane?
