I haven't read through all the way, but it's definitely pretty good so far. The only complaint I have is in regards to the author's overuse of italics. A quick guesstimate gives an average of one or two italicized words per sentence (I'm ignoring things like ship names and classes), which is just ridiculous.

Edit: The italics problem seems to have disappeared at some point on page 2, which is good.

An Opportunity of Fate Author: PML7 Counter Guardian Emiya is given an offer he cannot refuse. He must somehow save Fuyuki City from the ravages of the Fifth Grail War without being allowed to participate himself! Can he influence his younger self and his friends from his youth enough to save the world before Emiya has to use a Counter Force against the Grail, destroying Fuyuki City and the surrounding area?

Another alternative take on the Holy Grail War and events leading up to it. Despite the summary, Archer basically plays no role in the story except at the start (a shame). Characters like Ayako and Issei play a pretty big role, which I know may be off putting to a lot of you (but I actually find myself actually quite interested in their plot). In the last few chapters Shirou feels a bit marginalized though.

Are there any good/decent/readable Saber centric stories out there? Outside of Thu'um of a Distant Utopia, I mean, that one is fucking brilliant. Just seems to me that too many Fate stories center on and around Shirou and Emiya and that really baffles me.

Maybe try http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6632773/1/Continuation-of-the-Dream? It's probably not exactly what you're looking for, but it is Saber centric. Basically follows her after she wakes up back in her own time after the Fate route. Had potential to be a bit more interesting than it was, but yeah.

Edit: Thanks for the link Tragicmat1. Souls of Heroes has been somewhat entertaining so far.

Thanks guys. Already knew that story, jarik. It was quite interesting until she returned to the present. Would have preferred for it to remain in the medieval times.

Will check out souls of heroes.

That oneshot got a decent chuckle.

If you guys are craving FSN fics, try out http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8560965/1/God-Slaying-Blade-Works.
I love this so far, and I'm tempted to put it up for review. I think he got like 4 betas after a couple chapters, and the difference is noticeable (though it was hardly bad beforehand). I read this before watching Campione, but, I decided to watch the anime after reading this fic. (Campione-verse is pretty interesting too). Check it out, it will at least serve as a good time-waster.

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on this one. I watched Campione before reading it so I had an idea of what I was getting into, but this makes me want to get into the novels.

It's fun to read, Illya is adorable, and the fights are well done. The only thing I really don't like so far is Shirou's "King Persona" but it hasn't been as bad lately.

This story was just finished a few days ago. It was an OK read - not too long, nothing too awesome happening in story, but it was pretty good as far as time travel stories gone. And like I said, it's already done.

I remember reading that, and just got crazy bored toward chapter 7 or something. Is the ending good enough that it's worth reading if I found the beginning extremely boring? It is a bit rare for a story to be completed, so that's always a plus in my book.

That's its problem: it is kinda boring, but there are some interesting bits thrown in here and there and seeing as it isn't that long of a read I'd say it's worth it. It's just there's no real defining moment, although Mikoto has a mini-uber moment towards the end.

Well I just spent a few hours on it and I liked it. It doesn't have the epic all encompassing consequences I'm used to for time travel fics but that just makes it easier to finish I guess. That unexpected change to first person for the epilogue threw me for a bit but overall this is a story I enjoyed.

Naruto story isn't that bad. Really belongs in this thread -- good for killing some time, but don't go into it expecting anything awesome. I'm not that far in but wanted to go ahead and review anyway.

There's lots of little things that just aren't done to my satisfaction (a teenage Inoichi says he isn't lying, and that's good enough for everyone! Why bother considering that there might be a way to fool a ninja that he specifically asked for?).

There's also some good points, as the author has had Naruto go back a bit further in time than is normal. Gives things a little bit of a new feel.

*shrug* I'm not that far in, like I said, but I'd estimate we're looking at a 2.5/5 here.

Edit: Read more of it. Probably a 2.5/5, but I felt that it got more boring as it went on. The start was my favorite. When it started delving more into the Romance between Naruto and Mikoto I got bored, especially as the other two major relationships had were with parents and they managed to be boring as well.

I'll second this one, same rating. It's a decently entertaining premise and there's no severe mechanical problems with the writing.

Nothing in it really stands out, but it's interesting enough to keep reading the new updates.

In case anyone else was curious WTF the story above might be about...

I know we don't go for the whole posting format here, but please at least give a little description. The fandom wasn't even mentioned.

Just finished getting up to date in that.

Was enjoyable I guess. Particularly towards the end, I found myself interested in seeing how the next battle will turn out.

I think as a concept, it might've been more interesting if Shirou did not become a Campione, and like Ilya, had his current abilities made more powerful and easier to do. He would have Noble Phantasms available in UBW capable of fighting Gods.

Of course I never watched more than 2 episodes of Campione so have no idea about the universe (seemed like another average action/harem anime...though after reading this fic I'm tempted to give it another go).

I don't know, but I do enjoy the fact that this is Heaven's Feel Shirou that got healed through becoming a Campione. Right now, he can't use the reality marble even if he wanted to, so I find that more interesting and new compared to the usual UBW sword spams we have to see.
