I'd put forth they are that high elo because it's not that high of an elo. It's like 4 placement wins for a newbie 30.

 

True, and I'm stuck here so I'm making the best of it, which usually amounts to a 5 or 6 game winning streak with awesome people, then getting the people from the other teams who make mistakes which snowball hard, frustrating but not a lot I can do honestly. Climbed to 1380 over the past few days, down to 1340 again, though my elo doesn't really matter. I just want to improve as a player which I am doing, I'm definitely seeing improvements in my play. I'm much better at minimap watching and generally weighing up the cost of a dive/chase, noting down timers that aren't just drag/baron. Still need to work on just simple stuff like counter-jungling and getting people to co-operate rather than flame each other out.

Just no helping people who get super greedy or don't ward all game much as I ask politely. As I finish this one, I just have to dodge which kind of sums the evening's play. Think I'm gonna take a 30 minute break for my dodge timer and play something else before I break down. Why people think a Teemo adc with a singed jungle and support Nidalee would work amazes me, but, eh. Not bothering with that one, nuh uh. I can get that you can carry yourself out of a lower ELO by playing one role extremely well but it doesn't seem to be helping when your team-mates are frankly just dumb and were probably carried this high from the depths of ELO Purgatory.

Noticed a lot of people jumping on the bandwagon lately though, every game has had an AP Ez in it, be it on my team or their team so I guess a lot of people watched Katowice.

Nothing like an ARAM win as Poppy for a good time. PBE's updated again, Olaf finally getting some nerfs. Curious as to why his w got hit when I wouldn't say it's his sustain that's the problem. ArP removed from a passive and put as part of the active on his ult and undertow's slow fades over time. Fun to note they haven't touched his true damage just yet, guess they're messing with his kit and seeing if it's really needed as it kind of makes Olaf, Olaf.

 

I have a question. Did they announce anything about the 7800 IP cost Thresh? I must have missed it. Anyone have a link?

 

No link, but its been all over reddit a few weeks ago, and I believe on the LoL website. All new champions will be 7800 IP on their first week of release to kind of stop all the dodging and raging a people want to play it, after that they go back to the normal 6300.

On top of that, a former champion is reduced a tier in terms of ip & rp costs as well as their overall release date, so with recent champions Darius would be reduced and then Draven. I think it's Wukong this time, and then Yorick?

Hecarim OP. Late game he's a nigh unkillable, inescapable, AOE Damage dealing beast with fair CC.

Played 3 games in a row. Not one Thresh seen. I am disappoint, Riot.

 

Kind of the point of the increased IP costs.

Nah, he was playing Ori. Another Rioter, Sheerness, was playing Thresh.

 

Thresh is interesting. I played one game with him last night where we dominated lane and lost the game because they grouped long before we did and we had a Fizz thinking he was Rambo with heal/ignite.

Still, maybe it's just me but his E is easily his hardest skill to work out. I'm sure half the time I was casting it the correct way I wanted for a pull, and he'd push them away. Vice versa when trying to peel for my carry or just run away myself. Just seems like a really odd ability, but, yeah.

Outside that his lane harrass is godly if you just auto either their supp or adc every so often with q. I killed MF last night 1 on 1 (though she did start out around half hp) just because my opening q took like 110 off of her. Perhaps this was me being lucky as he does have a stupidly short range and I never got poked once when collecting souls without lantern. His ult, well, I didn't fully read the tooltip and only noticed it drops around me and not a ranged smartcast after dropping it around their turret whe diving and missing completely. Lesson learned there.

As for his late-game, not sure how to build him. I did pretty poorly with souls as I spent a lot of time roaming for no real reason and was still only level 9 by around the 20 minute mark. I guess you could go standard supp items, or mix it up like you would with Zyra/Fiddle and play him like a 2nd AP carry depending on the game.

 

I'm freaking tired of losing ranked games even though my score is usually something like 15/4/9 because one of my teammates is afk, trolling, or feeding beyond belief.
TIRED Fucking elo hell.
Edit: Its not like I'm particularly awesome or something, I just follow the general guidelines and common sense. Apparently that is enough to usually give me the only positive score on the team.

 

I don't even bother anymore for this exact reason. Once I got trolled down into elo hell during my placement matches, I stopped playing ranked with any seriousness at all.

Just bought Yorick. Three games in a row now full of trolls and feeders. Dragging my ass down during my first few games on a champ.

Why the fuck did I get two games in a row where two idiots autolocked ADC then proceeded to deny me farm, constantly push lane, and then feed?

 

I don't know why you guys get so many "trolls." They simply don't exist for me. Sure you get some people with stranger builds, but I get like one rager/flamer/troll/leaver per maybe 20 games. Just don't get stuck in a specific mind set, play around people if needed, and carry.

 

Kayle support too strong. Go double gp/10 into liandri/nashor and kill enemy ADC 1v1.

 

Four of my past five games have had someone afk/dc. It's extremely difficult (but possible) to win 4v5s, but it is unenjoyable and unpreventable.

 

I've been playing Skarner this week, he's a beast! Lot's of fun and pretty much unstoppable upwards of 14.

 

So I enjoy SivHD on youtube and think he's a great part of the community.

But fuck is he bad.
I'm watching his stream and maybe it's because he's playing AP ez on request, but fuck.
He was laning against karthus who, tbqh, is like the easiest person to lane against. Not easy to win against, but definitely easy to lane against. It's like he spends only a few seconds in lane before dying again, due to bad play much more than anything.

I also realize AP Ez isn't the best farmer, but goddamn he's at 98 cs at like 40+ minutes.
How does one get e-famous like this?

 

In the Youtube community, dying with style is better than winning with ease. If you can make it humorous people will keep watching no matter how terrible you are.

MY last game is an illustration. I was Yorick top vs Malphite. Malphite was getting beasted. I had him lower health than me the entire laning phase. I got ganked. So I warded river. Got ganked through our jungle, so I warded tribush, then got lane-ganked, so I warded that.

But I didn't have enough gold to keep three wards going constantly. Despite constant ganks, I remained positive k/d and higher CS the entire laning phase.

Skarner ganked my lane once. WHEN I WASN'T THERE. Once. Wasted his ult, and then didn't even get the kill at all.

By end of game, he was 1/4/3 or something else terrible.

By the time I left lane, I was 3/2/? Get down to the teamfight phase and it turns out my team has fed their ADC to hell. They proceed to throw the game hard and drag me down with them. LEaving me with a terribad score of 3/6 because my team thought 'engage' meant 'smack them a little then run away once Yorick is in the middle of them!"

If you don't get pricks like this constantly, I fucking envy the shit out of you. Because I get them at least 40% of the time.
