No kidding. You almost forgot how bad this manga is at times, and then a chapter like this comes out. Of course, the series does usually turn to dogshit whenever Sasuke is in the spotlight so it's hardly a surprise.

 

Saw this coming miles away. I mean, not the whole Tobi placing foreign objects inside of Sasuke when his back was turned, but you know, the whole thing with the shinigami and the previous hokages. And I know Oro is a boss, but he kinda shit on the shinigami a little too easily in my opinion.

 

God fucking dammit. I've been able to write off Naruto and not get too emotional about this shit. Really just enjoy it as it comes and try to ignore some of the shitty storytelling. But fucking hell, nothing is sacred for this man when it comes to giving Sasuke's storyline stupid fucking shit.

I think I may actually stop reading. This is the first time I've even contemplated that.

 

I don't think this is even close to dumbest thing Kishi ever did, so, I was able to actually enjoy it a bit. Then again, I stopped expected quality story telling from this manga some time ago.

Instead, I am just glad that for the second time in two years, I am actually looking forward to the next chapter, instead of dreading it.

 

Honestly though, the exposition and multi chapter explanations coming have huge potential for Naruto fanfiction. Not a revival but at least a booster shot.

 

I'm kinda annoyed at how Orochimaru is just like, "Yeah, we gotta go steal some shit from an Uzumaki clan temple..."

Meanwhile in the canon universe Naruto is an orphan that never manages to find said temple or anything. But yeah, after reading enough fanfiction I'm just like, maybe all those dumbasses righting stories where Naruto finds crazy uber weapons belonging to his clan actually had it right...

 

Because that's why I still read this, not to see how it ends but so I can tell the difference between Kishi's plot and the average FF.net writer's story when they implement the recent revelations.

 

It's been a long time since I posted, but this chapter pisses me off and makes me want to wait for what will happen next. The series is called Naruto, but man Kishimoto-sensei gives so much love to Sasugay. I can't believe even the uber shinigami was bypassed like that. My only hope is the mind control kunais are not used next, or this series totally blows.

Also I can only pray that the predictions about Orochimaru being deep cover don't come true.

 

Plot Twist: Everyone is a spy under deep cover for Konoha.

 

My reaction is that of incredulous laughter.

I mean, goddamnit Kishimoto. I'm having flashbacks to Code Geass R2, where I begin to wonder if the writing staff went on vacation and the janitor is writing the story. Except in this case I'm wondering if Kishi got in a car accident and is now a drooling vegetable and the investors are working for 4kids and scouring FFN for ideas. (FRIENDSHIP!)

Okay, the method of "resurrecting" the Hokages from eternal torture and damnation is a little cool, or could have been. Using the Mask of the Shinigami itself to costlessly (as opposed to using up your soul) summon the Shinigami? That has sort of Deathly Hallows feel right there in hiding from Death. It also kinda makes a bit of sense; how else would the Uzumaki have gotten the Shiki Fuuin seal? I would have preferred the location to summon to be more...spiritual than yet another Uchiha site. As well as the location of the Mask. Hiding among kabuki masks in a shrine is smart, but not really all that cool.

I'm wondering if the call-back to the beginning of Shippuuden is a sign that the manga is drawing to a close. God, I hope so. I'm getting tired of seeing all the things that made Naruto great get shat on.

 

LOL butthurt. I would have to still give a shit about this series to be butthurt, and I'm years past that point now. Just pointing out bad writing where I see it, brah.

 

Manga is one of my favorite hobbies, and I still like the community here at DLP even if my schedule keeps me away from IRC. Naruto is one of the very few manga series that anyone bothers to talk about here, I like Bleach even less and have never even bothered with One Piece. So I participate in the discussion. Let's get some discussion going about other, better series and I'll probably stop bothering with it.

I can only hope Edo Minato does something cool.

 

Who wants to bet the 2nd Hokage can't undo the controlling aspect like Madara does?

 

And this is where everything goes horribly wrong. All four Hokage break out of Endo Tensei and start raping face. Sasuke runs away like a little bitch, the Shin Gami takes over Oro's mind, the other two die at the hands of four uber pissed off Hokage.

 

There are only two good parts about this:

1) Kurama should return to full strength. Though I suppose a second Kyubi running around might be possible (if sort of stupid). The difference is size/strength is insane.

2) The four Kage are under control of Orochimaru, not Sasuke. Orochimaru is kind of boss.

Of course there will be epic fail because Orochimaru will somehow ignore the fact that each of the people he summoned and controls can bitchslap Sasuke down till his body is up for grabs.

On a whole, chapter might be able to give fanfiction a little boost, but I don't really like it.

 

The individual ideas present in the chapter were fine but the execution was poor; too much happened at once and it looked too easy.

 

Hrm, I really hope the Nidaime knows how to take control of himself like Madara did. And now I'm quietly confident that we'll get to see what sort of space-time jutsu he can perform. Awesome. Also, I'm glad to see that Orochimaru is truly back in business now. Definitely more interested in this manga again after this chapter.
