This is probably the first time in the entire manga I have no idea what the fuck is going on. Stuff that happened looks cool, but makes no sense. And the Uzumaki place was extremely jarring... more hidden Uzumaki stuff Naruto never discovered, bleh.

 

As long as we see how badass are Hokages in the battle, I'm fine with pretty much everything that is happening right now. Otherwise I will be very disappointed.

 

Depends on where and how to be honest. I'd rather not see Sarutobi and Minato crapped on by having them lose a battle against Sasuke if Orochimaru backstabs him.

 

They obviously have to be the counter to Madara, they still have no way to kill him.

And you bring a good point up, this means Kyuubi's second half of chakra is up for grabs. Whether this means we might see Juubi reach it's perfect form or not is another question. And I doubt Tobi and Madara will be able to control it in it's perfect form when they are struggling right now.

 

I guess I'm one of the few who thought that having the Shinigami as the one and only immutable force in the Naruto world was a stupid idea. If you can bring people back from the dead then you should be able to undo anything else that might come up.

To be honest I'm not really expecting a fight here. Seems to me that Sasuke is more interested in getting answers than throwing down, and it would be a pretty sorry ass-kicking by the Hokages. Instead, this is probably going to be the point where Sasuke officially turns back to the good side.

What interests me more is what do those other masks do? I had thought till now that the shinigami was the representation of death. If those other masks all have a similar functions to that of this mask, then there are other beings like the Shinigami and the Uzumaki seems to have had some form of contact/control with them. This makes me think it can become good sauce for some good tangent Fanfics.

 

I thought those were all just random, normal masks. Sort of like the classic "hide a tree in the forest" kind of deal. Hid the real mask among twenty normal masks.

Would make even less sense if there was just a temple with insanely powerful mask lying around that everyone and their mom could just pick up like it was nothing.

 

Well...there was atleast one insanely powerful mask lying around for anyone to pick up lol. Could be that there were more protections when the Uzumaki were alive and that a lot of people simply didn't know anything about such masks.

Frankly, in this plot hole ridden manga, anything could be and has been written off. Atleast this would make some fanfics interesting for me. \(o.o)/

 

Seems kind of ridiculous for Sasuke to go along with this plan. He knows Orochimaru still wants his body yet he allows him to not only regain his arms, but to gain control of 4 immortal S class ninja(2 of which probably have more experience fighting Uchiha than anyone else in the series)?

 

I am really curious where Kishi is going with this. Obviously there's going to be one hell of an infodump incoming, but beyond that...yeah. Curious.

 

Seems pretty obvious where this is going. Naruto beats all the previous Hokage, makes his daddy proud and fade away then becomes teh greatest hokage evar.

It'd be more fun if zombie!Kushina showed up at some point.

 

Well strictly speaking Orochimaru has not yet done so. In order to gain control of the hokages, Orochimaru has to put those control-tags inside their heads. I would guess that Sasuke won't allow that. In such a case, the hokages can pretty much talk but do little else. Sasuke will probably talk to them for a while, and then try to get rid of them by ordering Orochimaru to end the technique.

At which point Tobirama (and perhaps the others too) will pull a Madara and break the contract using the same technique Madara did and become freewilled edos. Thats my guess anyway.

Eh, given it's neither Uchiha nor Senju, its use is probably highly limited.

 

I don't know, it seems ridiculously hax from what we've seen. About the only possible limitation for this I can think of is that it perhaps isn't possible to use the mask to seal things/people. Maybe it only works for the unsealing ritual. Of course, that's only useful if you can somehow survive seppuku and then perform Edo Tensei.

 

Didn't Orochimaru say he absorbed Kabuto's knowledge as well? In that case, he doesn't need the kunai to control the Edo Tensei. But, really, he can't defend against the Sharingan; if he tries something, Sasuke can just Mangekyou his ass. Or...something.

Kabuto needs to implant talismans with control-tags into each and every edo he resurrects, or they are not under his control. Whats more, during the fight against Itachi, he was talking about capturing Itachi and installing a NEW control-tag to regain control, so we know he was not just bluffing Obito.

The hokages are not being controlled by anyone right now. The question is what happens next.

If Sasuke does not let Orochimaru install those tags, then the hokages will be free to do who knows what.

If he does let Orochimaru install those tags, then in 5 seconds he is unconscious and Orochimaru is admiring the body he is going to take.

Can Sasuke install his own tags? I doubt he knows enough about ET to do that. Hmm. I guess he could be planning on using genjutsu on the hokages. Being brought back to life (especially from the stomach of the shinigami which was described as torture) is likely a shock, so its not THAT unreasonable for Sasuke to be able to genjutsu the hokages while they are still weak, confused and unaware where they even are. It would also guarantee that Sasuke gets the truth. I mean why would he trust anything the hokages would say if he could not somehow compel them to speak the truth.

I think that seems pretty reasonable. Its not even unprecedented. Itachi was freed by a genjutsu, and while Sasuke cannot use genjutsu of that level, he also has no need to override already existing control tags which the Kotoamatsukami that freed Itachi had to do.

 

Considering that Orochimaru now has Kabuto's knowledge, I wonder if we'll see him in Sage Mode. That'd be a lot more awesome than it was when Kabuto did it, no doubt.

Anyway, more Minato = fucking awesome. More Shodai and Nidaime = brilliant. More Sandaime = sweet. Hopefully there'll be a lot of epic fighting with them all involved, showcasing previously unseen abilities, etc. Not to mention the coming info dump that Kishi has been foreshadowing for months. I'm hoping for a lot of info about the Rikudou Sennin, the Uzumaki clan, wtf happened to the Senju clan, Minato's heritage, etc. I'll probably end up disappointed, but... eh, this manga has so many minor loose ends I'll be happy if Kishi closes even half of them.
