I liked this chapter. Tobirama's personality was as I expected it to be. To think up Edo Tensei and to institute all those village reforms, it's only natural that he would be both intelligent and stern. I had expected Hashirama to be a little more... wise and sagely than he appears in this chapter, but this way is fine, too.

I'm getting really curious about Orochimaru's true intentions now. But really, it makes sense that Orochimaru would want to stop Obito and Madara (since Infinite Tsukuyomi would really mess up his own plans), so it's possible he'll let the four Hokages join the fight against them.

I can't figure out if Sasuke is about to start redeeming himself or just about to really go off the deep end. Should be interesting, either way.

Hashirama's lulzy. Totally killed my image of him but it doesn't suprise me that his personality doesn't match up to his legacy.

 

Yeah, the similarities between the First's and Naruto's nature (Was it just me who saw it that way? Even a few facial expressions seemed very similar) it seems are intentional. I still think there's something coming from that whole trees growing whenever Naruto uses kyuubi's chakra thing. While not unexpected, I quite liked it.

As far as Uchiha are concerned, Kishi reading too much Harry Potter I'm guessing. Maybe visiting sites like SIYE. XD

 

Yeah, it would have been nice if Kishi had gotten his point across without repeated the word "love". Just too corny.

Also hope that Sasuke bearing his Mangekyou(sp?) isn't some pathetic attempt at intimidation because the guy is basically standing in front of gods.

Also can't wait to see the easy mode time travel fics where Naruto waltz into the past, snags Kabuto to sacrifice him to edo the 4th back using the mask. All the while Sasuke feels too much love.

On the chapter: "Too much Uchiha Love" sounds like a fucking venerial disease to me.

Everything else was kinda cool... Tobirama is an utter bastard. I liked the chatter between them, but I'm wondering mostly what Orochimaru's goals are NOW. We're still not sure, after all.

Oh god, I can see it now. The Love!Sharingan Fanfics. Which will be awoken by Sasuke having gay sex with Naruto and cause him to suddenly be a likable guy. This fulfilling that stupid womanly fantasy of reforming assholes that don't give a shit about anyone but themselves and giving them their retarded yaoi at the same time while having to worry even less about things like plot and logic and characterization.

 

Yes an no. The Third's nickname was the 'Professor', according to Orochimaru and the databooks. Orochimaru also said 'Even you, he who was hailed as the God of Shinobi cannot defeat old age'. That's the only time the Third was linked with the 'God of Shinobi' name. With the context of the latest chapter, I'd guess the Third was frequently compared to the First (who did have the ''God of Shinobi' nickname/title) but it never became his offical title. It's also important to remember that Orochimaru was mocking the Third when he said it. The Sage of the Six Paths also was called it if I remember correctly.

I think people are taking this a bit far. All the chapter said was that when Uchiha form connections with people they form very deep connections with people. And, when something happens to that connection they don't deal with it well, to put it mildly. Their very chakra changes and they gain the Mangekyō Sharingan. This is were the 'kill your best friend to get a better Sharingan comes from'.

 

Despite the "Love" crap, I enjoyed this chapter. Sasuke actually doing something halfway reasonable for once, and the Hokages were awesome. Finally some character to add to the legend. In the respect, at least, Kishi did not fail.

 

Tsunade's history with gambling was the best part in this chapter.

 

Except thats nonsense is it not? The loss I mean. They get MS when THEY kill someone close. Nothing happens when they just lose someone that we have ever seen. I mean Sasuke lost literally everyone and he did not gain the Mangekyo. Heck, he seemed to get better until he got the cursed seal and another mindrape from Itachi. We used to think that feeling enough loss might be sufficient from Kakashi, but now we know even Kakashi got it from killing his teammate Rin.

If all that was needed was loss, then MS should be a lot more common. I think at this point its clear the loss has to be self-caused. And that in turn makes the whole thing a lot more rare than Tobirama seems to imply.

I wonder if we can fully trust Tobiramas interpretation here. I could for example see it being possible that a lot more Uchiha killed their friends to get MS before Konoha was founded and when the Uchiha&Senju were still in what was basically constant war. The Uchiha might have needed those MS, but would presumably have kept quiet about how they happened. Tobirama may have simply seen lots of examples of Uchiha losing people closest to them in "accidents" and then seeing them get MS and go crazy.

I do buy the going crazy part though. When you look at all the people who have MS, most are insane on some level. Itachi is a mindrapist and believes that mindrape a day keeps the Medical-nin away. Obito thinks its great to try to blow up newborn infants and brainwash the world. Shisui seemed to think it perfectly normal to rip out his own eye with his bare fingers and just give it to Itachi as a gift. Sasuke went from caring for Karin (Bee fight) to happily killing her (right after Susanoo) and then had the bright idea that he should kill literally EVERYONE in Konoha for being able to laugh(the most powerfull susanoo).

What I wonder is whether or not EMS fixes this mental problem. Sasuke does seem more stable lately, even though arguably one would have expected an encounter with an undead!Itachi to have driven him even further into madness. We know EMS solves the blindness, and it could be that the blindness is caused by the same chakra that causes instability. Sasuke atleast went blind at the exact same moment his chakra went most "evil" according to Karin, which was also the moment he went most craziest.

Wonder if Karin would still feel the "evil chakra" she spoke of when Sasuke went nutso during the Danzo encounter, if she were to encounter him now.

 

Sasuke didn't kill Itachi and he got MS.

 

We'll find out soon, perhaps. If Sasuke and co. are near Konoha, it's probable that Karin would detect them, now that she has freed herself.

He thinks he did. He claimed as much in this very chapter.

 

Would be lulz if he found out the truth.

Obito also got his MS without killing anyone, as we see in this chapter.
