I don't lose to Yorick. Ever. I can beat him with pretty much any of my major champions top lane. Renekton, Irelia, Darius, Wukong, Kha'Zix, Kennen, even Shen or Malphite.

He's just kinda of annoying, but definitely not anywhere close to unstoppable.

 

You might not lose to Yorick, but you can't exactly win either because even a mediocre Yorick does not lose lane. Ever. His kit just doesn't allow him to lose. Even if you manage to get through the slows and kill him, he's going to come back 30 seconds later and still be an annoying, immobile bastard in lane. He's still going to buy a Tear be able to constantly spam his inescapable ghouls at you, healing himself up in the process. The very best you can do is to break even.

 

I'm not saying I'm going even. I'm saying I repeatedly kill Yorick and destroy him in lane. I find him underwhelming as a champion. I can out sustain him even with the champions without sustain. I honestly don't "go even" with Yorick. I kill him, I push him out of lane and I win that lane.

 

I'm assuming you mean by using the heavy potion start?

Because I'm basing Yorick's faggotry off of when the heavy potion start wasn't really a thing and the cloth 5 start was a risky maneuver that could get you ganked.

 

This was both in Season 2 and 3. With any real start. Cloth 5 or the old Boots 3 in S2. I really don't have issues with Yorick.

I still think he's an annoying champion. Ghouls are an annoying mechanic. For me, its like laning vs Teemo as any champion top lane. It can be annoying, but I will win that lane.

 

Nothing beats ARAM as Gangplank, apart from when you're against a full 5 man AP kill-squad like Swain, Karthus, Katarina, Vlad & Zilean.

Probably a fucked up order but I generally went IE > Frozen Mallet > Mercs > LW > Hydra > SotD. Great fun for just destroying squishies trying to kite or run away.

Not sure if SotD procs with Parley, but most things do so I assumed it dead, though I didn't bother looking it up ... Though now I do, I see it doesn't. Well, damn. Wonder what I could've grabbed. Shiv I suppose, MS, AS & Crit, woulda made more sense. Oh well.

Why are people hating on Yorick so much? He is a great champion that can be very strong at any point in the game. Yes there are champions that bring more to teamfights but do well with Yorick and you can destroy people in fights, i've seen it happen multiple times. It is harder to kill other champions in lane as a Yorick but it's definitely not impossible or even improbable. Even the champions that supposedly "counter" Yorick make the lane a mostly free farm lane with their sustain. Overall Yorick is a strong champion with just as much viability as any other top laner.

Because he has zero counterplay. Because it takes absolutely no skill to mash QWE on cooldown. Because he brings nothing to his team once he's spent 15 minutes annoying the enemy top laner.

Yorick is a bullshit champion. His only saving grace is that because he's so incredibly fucking dull to play, I don't see him much.

 

Still better than Teemo.

 

To honest I would almost always prefer Teemo on my team to Yorick. Mushrooms are very strong, and if nothing else he is a lightning rod for damage away from myself/adc/mid. Blind is very strong against endgame ADC, and the poison ticks hurt quite a bit if built correctly.

 

His ult? People think his ult always relies on the ADC to do anything in a fight, nobody stops to think that it isn't a Morde ult, the ghost can actually use abilities instead of just AA. So anyone who does a lot of damage can be ulted. No you don't want the person you ult to die, because that means losing a player, and in that case, yes, ult your ADC so the ghost just adds a bit more damage in a fight with its AA instead of using the ghost as an after-death damager.

Yorick can also bring plenty of damage or tankiness or even both to a teamfight just by himself. He even has good chasing power. Nothing is absolutely horrible about Yorick. Every champion brings something unique to a game. Just because you can't do well with that champion or because you play against others who can't do well with that champion doesn't mean it's a bad champion.

Fuck my life and fuck this team. Literally half my matches are like this (see several posts ago). Yes, I could have positioned better, but come on. I don't think it's fair that I have to position at plat levels of skill to move up in silver. Jesus fucking christ.

That Elise was 0/8 when I first saw her. The Annie was 1/5. The Shyvana was 0/3. The ONLY reason these morons have any kills at all are because I can damn well position against shitty silvers, and my team cleaned up after I got them all low, because they were too pussy to initiate.
