Are there well written stories out there where the character named 'Gellert Grindelwald' is explored? And no, I do not want slash fics.

    Thank you.

Thanks T3t. Unfortunately, I read both of them, like 5 times.

@Kmfrank- You do that. It's been a while since you took your sabbatical from writing fanfiction for Harry Potter.

As for Grindelwald, firephoenix8's Gellert in The Twist of Fate was the best. Unfortunately, I abandoned reading when she confirmed that the pairing is going to be slash. *shrugs*.

The Grindelwald in Santi's BWL fic is good...

...but he only has one scene, so it doesn't really count.

@Rayndeon, I read Concentric Wavelengths with the 'heart eating' Grindelwald. Thanks for the suggestion though.

    Nurmengard

The plot is really interesting. Too bad it's incomplete and far too short. Worth a read. Think about a "Die Hard" setting with a psychopathic badass Gellert:)

Brothers-in-Arms is leading to the Nurmengard story. It starts during the GOF Voldemort graveyard scene and then spins completely out of control.

The writing is flawed but the plot and gritty action sequences are in the upper echolon of HP stories.

Yeah, I read that 'Nurmengard' story. It takes Gellert's bad-ass'ery to a new level. I didn't even find a mention of Gellert in Brother's in Arms.

Yes, the story is very good, but it's been more than a year since the story had an update.

As it's the prologue to the Nurmengard story I mentioned it so people don't miss it.

Yo guys and gals. Found another 'awesome' Grindelwald story and it made me 'All hail Lord Grindelwald'.

Harry Dursley and the Chronicles of the King.

Your use of "quotation marks" makes me "suspicious" that this might be "sarcasm."

The fic is abandoned, but still a good read and rather lengthy. Grindelwald doesn't appear until chapter Nine, but his "long shadow" features prominently from the start.

On the contrary, there was no hidden intent in them. ;)

Found another. Grindelwald's character hasn't been developed yet, but he makes quite a few appearances. Come one, I haven't read a story where Dumbledore breaks him out of Nurmengard and brings him to Hogwarts.

    This and it's sequel This

Normally, I hate to start a story only to find out that it has been abandoned, most especially if it is competently written. But this one sounds interesting enough to take a chance on anyway.

Note for those playing along at home: the Crux fics appear to feature canon Voldemort mentoring Harry.

As in, 'Oh, and Wormtail? Crucio!" Voldemort. It's kind of hilarious until you realize how silly it is.

The beginning isn't that good and the author is a 13 year old girl. The story improves steadily and finally, there is a kick-ass ending to Ice Crux.

Dawn Crux starts off slowly, but Voldemort vs Dumbledore+Grindelwald is super awesome to read. Dumbledore is pretty kick-as too. He plays the role of a Light Lord effectively leaving Grindelwald to take care of the dirty side of war.
