Except Froggen is actually a friggen genius and carries EG every game they win.

 

Dyrus in my eyes has never been a good top laner, he just doesn't seem committed and fucks up far too often, though you could argue a lot of people do the same.

I'm just happy Vulcan took their game against CLG last night, wiped the smug looks off Hotshotfuckface & St. I love Aphro and everything but he couldn't have picked a team full of bigger douchebags if he tried.

 

They absolutely pounded Complexity into the ground, too. I just watched that game, it was like a middle school basketball team against the '90s Chicago Bulls.

 

Except no-one really carries EG. They are a very well rounded team, in which everyone pulls his weight.

 

Arguable. I've been a fan ever since they won Kings of Europe, and though they've definitely improved since then Froggen is still the core of the team and his play will mostly dictate their success or failure. Lately Pete and Wickd have been playing very well also, but there is a reason Froggen is the guy that gets this treatment:

 

I'm not saying he isn't. I'm saying he isn't carrying. Carrying to me is when only one skilled member of a team is the reason for a won game. Froggen is good, probably the best in EG, but he isn't carrying his team.

Edit; After seeing Jon's post in the diaries thread, alongside some LCS games recently, plus noticing more play across the board on streams and in soloq... Was the change to Nasus' and Sion's stacking abilities really that big of a deal?

Nasus is probably less of a big deal because of the other buffs he got across the board, but, well, bar the one ARAM earlier today, I've never played Nasus and I don't even own Sion. I don't see how simply doubling the bonus AD/AP from a large creep/monster makes that big of a deal. If you're left alone to farm, sure, it'll add up over time but isn't that the case with any champion you simply don't want to get farmed up (Akali, Singed, Jax spring to mind)?

The extra stacking on big creeps wasn't a big deal at all. Veigar got the same changes and he's still barely played. The mana cost changes for Nasus were pretty huge though.

I guess Sion is seeing a little more play just because health is king right now and Enrage gives free health. Even though it's a worthless amount... it's still free health.

 

I've had jungle Sion games where Ive had 500 bonus health from the E. Admittedly that means you are running AD Sion, which is kind of terrible (but really fun in the jungle and at objectives) but it's not like AP Sion is strictly superior in the first place.

 

Nope, he is strictly superior.

And will outfarm in most cases.

 

I would not say that AP Sion is "strictly" superior to AD Sion. Although he certainly has benefits that AD Sion does not. I do feel that AP Sion's ultimate is somewhat lackluster for teamfights however.

It really depends on the rest of your team whether AD or AP Sion will be a better fit. But there are champions that can better fill the niche anyway.

 

Isn't AP Sion just completely diminished as a threat if you blow through his shield before it comes off CD? As I recall it doesn't blow up in the first 4 seconds because it goes on CD, or something like that, and from what I remember his stun AP ratio isn't too high.

 

Nah, his stun has like a .9 ratio, which is incredibly high for a target spell. Also, Sion's shield is pretty hard to break at early level, and later level AP Sion should not be tanking so much that his shield gets broken anyways (the same as any other AP mids). What makes AP Sion stupid is how unavoidable his damage is, (and it's pretty high). AD Sion just gets kited all day, and really isn't worth playing most of the time.

 

Udyr sees very little play because he gets kited all day. And he is pretty much infinitely better than Sion for mobility. Not to mention that the only thing that kind of made him work (lots of MS items) have been nerfed hard this patch. You won't get up to that easy 450 MS like you could last patch, which is a pretty big deal.

So to whoever said it, you're right that AD Sion isn't strictly inferior. He's just inferior in any game where your opponents aren't retarded (draft) or extremely unlucky (blind).

AD Sion's shield is pretty much useless. Unless you don't leave top until level 18, that shield is more detrimental to your mana than it is beneficial to your HP. You cannot level it over your stun, since your stun is your only possible yet still incredibly unreliable way of staying on a target, so you need that reduced cooldown.

And up until the lichbane change, Sion's ultimate worked better as AP. His burst heals of 5-600 worked extremely well with his kite strategy and helped him transition into the later game when Q/W can't 2 shot.

Even though the lichbane change makes the ultimate worthless for APSion (except for soloing blue buff yay!), the movement speed nerfs hurt AD Sion quite a bit more, considering how shitty he was already.
