Sounds pretty decent, it'll protect the only important town roles.

But does anyone else at least have another idea?

I am now going to bed. I will be awake to answer any questions in about 8 hours or so. There is still a while left in the day unless you come to a lynch decision.

This is, honestly, one of the best plans we can get. There are some downsides, sure, but the rewards outweigh the risks.

We could have Molly not roleclaim, and only have people post in-thread when they have been tainted, but without her roleclaim, people can't exactly be sure they've been tainted. The night action they receive could also be a Dresden protect, after all. This could potentially waste nights and allow White Court counters to build.

There's no advantage to be gained from either Dresden or Marcone roleclaiming, anyway, and Marcone isn't even town, so this really does seem like the only viable option.

It's always best to discuss any alternative options. There was a point made in the other thread about players leading the game - while we can certainly have town players come up with excellent stratagems, we need to be sure we aren't being led into a trap we didn't see by scum. Going through the plan and comparing it to any alternatives isn't a bad idea.

Actually, after thinking about this more, I think this plan is really fucking dangerous.

If Molly claims and a vampire fake-CC's, we have no way to know whether we killed the right one (because there's no role reveal on death). If we accidentally lynch the real Molly, the fake Molly will have the Dresden's protection from the competing court for the rest of the game, which (as the former White King) I can say is a HUGE advantage. Plus, we have no way to confirm what either Molly posts in the thread. Combined with us not wanting to risk lynching our Molly, this could win the game for scum...

I wasn't sure if I should post this since it's potentially giving scum ideas, but we have some smart players in this game and they're probably not all town.

This actually occured to me earlier, but then I realised that Dresden would know on Day 5. He could roleclaim and then protect himself. Any counterclaims would clearly be from the same Court as Molly, so the Dresden claims become prime targets for night action from the opposing Court. At that point, we'd have a confirmed scum backed up by 5 days of connections (assuming no counterclaims). We don't need to remove their counters to lynch them, after all.

It still seems better than shooting in the dark, considering Molly could be taken out soon enough anyway, and without the ability to remove the taint off the bat we're giving the WC a huge advantage. This way, if it doesn't work we should have two scum (at least one) in 5 days, and if it does we can effectively neutralise the WC, leaving us with only the RC to hunt down. I still think it's worth the risk.

Rubicon raises some valid points. Yes, Dresden would figure out fake!Molly on day 5 but 5 days is way too long. Dresden and Molly would effectively be neutralized for that time. Red queen would bag 5 kills, not to mention the townies fake!Molly might have us lynched.

There would be 5 lynches and 5 NKs by day five. Which means that if either of the White Court individuals CC, they'll win via taint by then. Too risky, IMHO. Also, if Molly RC and no one CC, then scum is scrubs and need 2 lrn2play.

Who says we have to kill one of the people who claim. If two people claim and we can't decide which one is the real one, then Dresden protects one of them and the scum have to try and guess which one. It's not perfect but it would put off a lot of scum from trying that nightkill.

Problem is, since the scum would be the ones doing the counterclaim or fake claim, they'd know exactly which one is the real claimer, while Dresden would have to guess: essentially, what you're saying is, "Hey, townies, can you give us a 50/50 shot at the Seer?"

I am now awake. If you have any questions, please continue to utilize the QTs, that's what they're for. Otherwise, it looks like a slow period.

I want to know from you guys. Is 48 hours too long or do you like the length of the Day/Night cycle as is.

Please continue to play but, if you feel that 48 hours is too much, let me know.

48 hours is the minimum for me.

Guys, if there's a counterclaim, we lynch both. But consider that there are two scum factions in this game. With this kind of plan, that's a serious advantage if you think about it.

But stojil, if we lose the real Molly, we have a high likelihood of losing, don't we?

Stojil is right, I think. The pawns'll be the ones who'd counter claim. If they were to be over zealous and both go, we could all but cripple the scum. At a high price, true, but it would give us a better chance than just hoping. All of that said, there is considerable danger with it if only one scum cc's. I think the benefits of it going as planned or letting us knock out 2 scum outweigh the worst case scenario. At the very least, I see no better plan.

Even if it happens, an exchange Priest/Scum isn't the best but it isn't game-breaking, either. There were games in which scum ganked the Priest on night 1 (so with no useful checks) and town still won.

Sesc, Cheddar/Aekiel, Jibril: get in here and post.

    "Let's lynch Molly, guys!"
Yeah, when people start advocating deliberate townie killing, I start getting uncomfortable with their actual motivations.
Besides, Molly /hasn't/ roleclaimed, so this is all bloody well theoretical.

I am liking this idea so far. If there is a scum counterclaim it would only be from one faction I would say since the other won't want to risk it if there is already a counterclaim.

Scum who do counterclaim would give the other scum faction an advantage in that the second scum team would now have a much better idea of who the opposing scum team is which could definitely work in our benefit.
