Accidental rape... maybe if someone has some BDSM fetishes and you planned with them to have a simulated rape where you pretend to kidnap them from a public place and rape them while they pretend to fight, and then on the way there they get in a traffic jam/whatever while you 'accidentally rape' a random passer by.

Browsing this thread I thought it might be time to think about the kind of summaries that should and shouldn’t be posted here. There are too many lazy members just copying some random fanfiction.net entry and – by posting it in here – labelling it ‘Worst’ of its kind, while more often than not it’s just a random plain ol’ bad.


What makes a summary bad, what makes it worse, and which entries actually qualify for ‘Worst Summaries’?


Bad Summaries

Bad summaries are just random summaries you’ll find on the first page of fanfiction.net. Words like ‘mpreg’, ‘cutting’, and so on, are standard fangirl vocabulary and – while qualifying a story as unreadable – don’t qualify a summary for this thread. These summaries should stay where they are, they really don’t belong here.

Some examples:

- random non-summaries, often featuring just one line:

- random reading the books summaries – there are so many of them, and they all are the same, barely ‘worse’ and never ‘Worst Of’:

- random songfic summaries:

- random fangirls’ fangirl’s summaries:

- random troll summaries:

- random unfunny summaries meant to be funny, while actually they aren’t:

- summaries with the occasional typo, making you roll your eyes

All these summaries are standard fanfiction.net summaries and really don’t belong into this thread. Copypasting long lists of these makes you look as bad as the fangirls and fanboys who wrote them. You are just proving that your standards are as low as theirs.


Worse Summaries

There are quite a few worse summaries. Every day a few of them pop up on the usual fanfiction boards. These are more than just plain ol’ bad and some might even at least borderline qualify for this ‘Worst Of’ thread. Worse summaries can be characterised by

- really bad grammar and / or spelling:

- at least slightly disgusting content

- even worse non-summaries

Worst Summaries

And then there are the worst summaries – really the worst you can find in the fandom. You rarely find these on fanfiction.net’s front page. These are little gems hidden under a huge pile of average shit and random crap.

Let’s start with a classic – a summary that inspires your fantasy and makes you picture scenes you never wanted to witness:

There also is the rare great troll entry, which made you chuckle or even laugh out loud when you saw it for the first time:

Then there is the wtf-fic you never wanted to read – though this would be as well placed in our wtf-fic thread

DLP has standards. Not just for really good fanfiction within the library, but also within its ‘worst of’ or ‘awesomely bad’ sections. Look out for the worst the fandom has to offer. And then post it in here.
