The TSM vs CRS game in today's LCS (Week 9 Day 2) was excellently played by the winner.

Great bans and picks and then their strategy unfolded almost without a hitch.

Definitely a great one to watch.

I'm about halfway through level 29, yay!

Anyway, definitely not planning on jumping into ranked once I hit 30 -- I feel like I don't have nearly solid enough grasp on the game yet, with only 150 wins. Maybe in a few hundred more games, lol.

In response to what was said above about the Curse v TSM game, that execution was definitely impressive. I thought for sure TSM had messed up, committing so much to blue -- but it was just a clever ploy. Bravo. In regards to other LCS-related things, I'm excited to see pr0lly on coL. I love seeing the more unconventional champs played (it gets a bit stale watching the same champs every week).

I'm also looking forward to the Allstars games -- NA is looking about as strong as could be hoped for, although I do think Regi instead of Scarra might be a better pick. On the flip side, other regions' teams are looking interesting as well. I haven't followed the LCS as closely outside of the US, but there are definitely going to be some amazing matchups.

@Daedros, I definitely think you should start playing ranked as soon as possible. Yes, you'll probably get raged at but I think looking at replays of your ranked games and comparing them to higher level'd games (like the ones in the spotlights) will help you get better fastest.

Don't start ranked if you don't think you're ready for ranked. It's possible that it might be the fastest way to improve (not sure about that), but you could still easily regret it later. I have a friend who started ranked as soon as he hit level 30 and got put into bronze 5. And he got discouraged to the extent that he is still in bronze 4, despite him now being easily a mid silver - low gold quality player, and he now barely plays ranked, only when we duo queue together.

I'm not saying that the same thing will happen to you, but I'd suggest you just wait until you want to start ranked.

Getting back into LoL, and I'd like to ask; How many roles should you be fairly comfortable with before heading out to ranked?

Know basics for all of them. Be comfortable in Mid, Top, Jungle, and Support unless you plan on pigheading your way into a role.

You should be able to at least play every role, even if only to the point of not always feeding, and then specialize in one or two roles heavily. If you can win with your chosen role more often than not, and don't throw every time you are bumped out, you should do fine.

    Play ALL the roles.

I say this but then I really only play mid.

    *cough* Sounds familiar... */cough*

Really, though, while I main mid, and mostly Akali at that, I also have Cait and Quinn primarily for AD; a few different junglers, although usually Hecarim in Ranked; several tops that I can tap into; and a sparing few supports, even if it's my least played role.

Just have to be ready to adapt to the situation, at least if you don't want to get the leaver penalty if forced into a role you didn't intend for. Ignoring locking in a previously chosen role, of course.

Well I just completed my ten provisional matches. Won six, lost four, and got placed into silver V. I feel pretty good about skipping bronze all together. Three of the matches I lost had one summoner that fed like crazy, but from what I understand, I'll have to learn not to get too emotionally invested in ranked games.

I wanted to ask if anyone knows of a tool similar to LOL Replay that works on Mac. I really feel like watching my games could improve my play, but my comp can't handle running normal screen-capture software and LOL at the same time.

As much as I dislike Elementz, his play, his voice, and his general attitude, I'm not sure if Rhux is quite ready for this level of play.
