As has been noted before, Disney really does take care of it's franchises. At first I was skeptical but with the schedule they've done for the Marvel Universe movies, I don't think this is entirely out of their abilities to handle.

Lol. There's no chance that this will flop and you know it.

They could use GI Joe action figures to make the movie and people would still watch it.

No matter how bad the story, action, acting, what have you, people will watch it, if just to bash it and create bash blogs later on.

If I remember correctly, Disney owns Marvel Entertainment (Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, etc). They were the ones to revamp the aforementioned characters and they're the ones running the shooting schedule now (technically).

By schedule I meant that Disney has produced a Marvel movie every two years or so since Iron Man 1 and those are really good. It seems they have a similar if a little bit more ambitious of a set up planned for Star Wars.

While it's true that generally Disney handles things well...

    John Carter.

Loved the new Star Trek movies so I'll be optimistic for now.

I was never a fan of that book series, but I do think that they had the same problem that Fox had with Eragon in that they tried to fit too much of the book into the movie whilst not really giving a good movie to begin with.

That said, you are correct, John Carter was a particularly horrible movie for Disney's standards. I'm inclined to suspicious optimism though since Star Wars has a much larger fan base in my opinion. Failing the John Carter fanbase is not the same as failing the Star Wars fanbase.

I'd prefer they focus on on the quality of the movies rather than the amount of them, but until I actually see one I guess I can't really judge.

Personally, I really enjoyed John Carter. Not a classic by any stretch, but it was good fun. It's actually one of the things that makes me most optimistic about new Star Wars films; an entertaining space opera that doesn't get lost in the CGI and has decent characters. I never really understood the vitriol that was leveled against JC /shrug.

On the topic of the Disney/Marvel schedule, I think I'm right in saying that the Avengers movie was actually the first film released after they bought Marvel, so I don't think they can take too much of the credit for it so far.

All Disney has to do is hire Patton Oswalt to do the script and it'll be amazing.

    A movie about Boba Fett?

This'll end well. Fett's got such depth of character and narrative and oh wait.

edit: well, I suppose it couldn't be much worse than Karen Traviss' Marysuedalorians.

You're being too hard on him. Deep inside Boba Fett is just a young boy still lashing out over the death of his father. And all he needs is the right woman to help him realise it. :nyan:

You know, considering the Travis(ty) books; that somehow doesn't even make things worse.

No matter what Travis wrote, movies are number one canon, and we saw exactly what happens when a Mandalorian goes up against a Jedi. Swing, swing, decapitate. I hope to god they don't make a boba fett movie, though. The mando cocksucking fandom is bad enough already.
