Kushina, very much near death, managed to restrain the Kyuubi with her chakra chains. Mito, regardless of Hashirama's awesomeness, sealed the Kyuubi in herself and from what we know, at the very least could use Kyuubi's ability to sense evil. And, regardless of where and how he got the eyes, Nagato was still a badass. That's a really terrible argument, the 'X character is nothing without dojutsu/bijuu' argument. There are too many characters that depend on and/or utilize abilities and skills they didn't 'earn', so to speak.

Disturbing little theory on TFF is that Karin has had her mind tampered through Orochimaru's experimentation, making her find Sasuke irresistible. Sasuke who was meant to become Orochimaru's next body. A long-haul experimentation where she was eventually mean to copulate with "Sasuke" to provide an even more ideal body from the combination of Uzumaki and Uchiha DNA. He's worked in that area before with Sasori's sleeper jutsu and how the curse seal removed the S4's free will.

 

So sort of like Underworld?

Keep in mind Hashirama is actually heading over there. Madara might have just noticed that.

 

I thought that was obvious. Doesn't he more-or-less say "I can feel Hashirama's chakra"? He's probably hoping for an endless battle between two god-like immortals.
