I definitely remember them being married, but I can't say where from. Also, I think Assault would overlook his hatred, if Miss Militia asked.

 

The most obvious possibility is Miss Militia going "Well, it seems we got a new ward...." and i am pretty sure that if so, Tagg can't do anything about it.

The cries of anguish from Clockblocker and Kid win would be delicious.

 

So wildbow stated that there are only a few more arcs left to the story. We know that S9 will come back in a year. The end of the world is in in about 2-15 years. Probable time skip?

 

I feel like that's what this is building up to. We, as readers, know how much Skitter has changed over the course of the story. If she gets stuck in the birdcage for a while, then we time skip to her being broken out/ it collapsing. Alternatively she's "Rehabilitated" like Shadow Stalker. Either way she gets pulled out of the action for a while and then reintroduced as the S9 come back to town.

That sort of makes sense in my opinion.

 

No way in hell is Skitter going to subject herself to being babysat by "real" heroes while she has to go back to high school for 2 years. She's just started her quest for REAL ULTIMATE POWER so that she can stop the end of the world.

S9 are banished for 3 years. End of the world is in 2.

 

Where was it said when the S9 are going to come back? I missed that.

But it doesn't actually specify that it has to take place in BB, so that was a misled impression on my part.

Where did Wildbow say only a few arcs left in the story? I remember him saying that it'll be finished this year.

 

He said Fall, if I remember correctly. A few arcs leading up to the conclusion, which I can only assume with be multi-arc in length. Maybe longer than the 3 S9 arcs.

Edit: Just got confirmation from Wildbow. Fall will be the beginning of the end. Story will wrap up sometime around the new year (probably).

@Ceebee: I think that was already implied from the Accord interlude, when he said Skitter could replace Coil. Though I would use the phrase "unwitting Cauldron pawn," like probably half of all the capes in the world (with the other half owing them for their powers). Though Tattletale's powers seems to have removed Number Man's ability to manipulate them...


From Jack and Number Man section:

So who's "they?" Cauldron? S9? King was the original founder of the group in the 80s, and his death caused the split between S9 and Cauldron? He sounds like a Heartbreaker type of cape.

King and Contessa related? Contessa is a precog so it doesn't seem her name relates to her powers.

Also, Jack in sync with his passenger b/c of his appetite for destruction. Eidolon losing his powers b/c of his attempts to prevent destruction. Seems to imply that passengers are equivalent to Endbringers that just haven't manifested into the same universe. But then how do you explain Scion?

Oh, and Faultline's crew is making more portals to other worlds. Earth Bet=hub of the multiverse.

 

I can't help but think that what Faultline is doing is monumentally stupid. Each new portal is a huge risk.

Like maybe the reason humans went extinct in one of those realities is that AIDS became airborne. Or maybe one of these realities has Endbringers that finished wiping humanity out of that universe.

I get the feeling that this won't happen in the story, but the risk of these PERMANENTLY open portals is way too much. It really should take years of exploring the alternate earth to decide if opening a door like that wouldn't fuck things up. Not something you do willy-nilly.

 

Do we know who Harbringer is? Ie, the Numbers Man.

 

Just that he's a confirmed former member of the Slaughterhouse Nine, and Bonesaw is likely cloning him.

 

He's a former member, but I doubt he's getting cloned. He obviously has no reason to help the 9 at this point and there's no perfect way to make him do what they want, given that he's a thinker.

 

That could be true for many former S9 members, not just Harbinger. The current S9 have multiple ways of controlling people, whether it's Bonesaw jacking someone's nervous system, altering their brain functions [eg. Hookwolf], whatever she does to her other creations, or even Jack's subtle manipulations.

Seeing as Bonesaw has Harbinger's DNA, it certainly appears that she's cloning ten of him.

 

To be fair, it's entirely possible Harbinger is that "One other" that isn't on the list.

 

Unless that was referring to Grey Boy, who was implied to have been under King (and thus probably a former member of the SH9)

 

It is referring to Gray Boy.

Jack and Gray Boy don't have a 'column' of cases. Jack, because he isn't being cloned as far as we can tell, and Gray Boy, because he only has one case.
