Though, honestly, the suits for the most part already face-rolled all the Extremis people. Sure, they took down several suits, but really, if they kept all of the suits just at long distance firing it wouldn't nearly have been exciting to watch.

If there's one thing that's annoying, is how often Tony is OUT of his suit, or why is it that once those guys seem to get close the suits can't do anything. (E.G, when the Colonel gets caught, etc)

 

I really really enjoyed having a bit less Super!Gunsandbombs!Tony. it was awesome seeing him prove he can pull shit off even if he's having trouble with his suit. I thought all the Extremis abilities were believable utilisations of it except fire breathing, but that was only used once for a comedic scene so I suppose it's not too much of an issue.

 

I really liked it. I enjoyed what they did with Killian, and how they combined him with Mallen.

Most of the problems people seem to have had with it didn't ever really bother me. The scene with the suits were taken from the comic book, and they couldn't just shoot the Extemis users because the suits were all prototypes. His "battle suits" were all destroyed in the missile strike.

Also, anyone else notice the dragon tattoos on Killian?

Edit:Oh yeah, btw in the comic, extremis users, Like Mallen, can release a bioelectric charge that disables the suits while touching them.

 

Yeah they didn't explain that at all in the movies. These weird guys just touched the suits and they stop working, and its like....okay? Where did that come from? New suit time?

 

Yeah, all they explained was that they could put out a lot of heat, not some sort of EMP. Combined with the way Rhodey was acting as if it caused a lot of pain, I was wondering why the hell extreme heat in one spot seemed to knock out an Iron Man suit.

 

Why the fuck were the suits super vulnerable ? A bus knocked out one! I mean come on!

 

Plus, wasn't it already pretty busted?

 

Yeah, if I remember correctly this was the prototype suit that had already had a building collapse on it and drag it into the ocean, then fell out of the sky at high speed before being fixed up in some kid's crappy tool shed. Also it must be a lot less strong as a whole seeing as how it's designed to break up and fly around in little pieces.

Put under that context, I suppose it's a lot more forgivable that it held up to that bus like tissue paper.

 

Tony was cranking out prototypes at a ridiculous rate, over-designing each one to match a single specific scenario and moving on to the next one without ironing out the bugs, all while suffering pretty severe sleep deprivation and anxiety. He was not bringing his A-game.

The bioelectric charge ability wouldn't fly well in the movieverse - a charge generated in a body can disable the suit where Thor's lightning strike merely gives a 400% power boost? Iffy at the very least.

 

Well in all fairness there is a sizable difference between Thor's lightning and an EMP.

 

Aren't they both pretty much Electricity for the most part? I would think that the magnetic part doesn't really matter that much in the end. Then again, I don't really know much science.

 

One is an electromagnetic wave. The other is an actual flow of electrons (electricity). The former can cause the latter which is what fries systems.
