Uh, if Skitter's intention here was to communicate with people in the city and start a media circus, what the hell was the point of turning herself in?

She's trying to be cooperative here so that she can have her demands met. Writing "save me" on all the walls is only going to make shit worse, or did you miss that the pro-Undersider people were starting to arm themselves in order to help break her out?

I've been waiting for the conversation with Alexandria for a long time, mostly because it could really go in any direction. Whether Alexandria thinks of Skitter as a kindred spirit or someone to be crushed remains to be seen, but Alexandria owes her a hell of a lot.

 

Honestly, I'm surprised Skitter is willing to go to birdcage. With the way she talks during the latest chapter, seems like she's given up on her friends and has resigned herself to being somebody's pawn or up a river somewhere. A little annoying, as she's shown a lot of spine as of late, and her "morals" which seem to be the only things making her do all this, are grounded in what? She's not philosophical or religious; it seems like the entire reason she's letting herself be bullied around is because of her father's feelings.

Skitter has been justifying her actions since the beginning under some vague "morality" that she has, but a few times already, she's admitted that was simply a skin over her real motivations. I'm wondering if that's still the case here, or if she's really "fine" with going to prison for the rest of her life.

But Skitter shouldn't have to talk her lawyer into communicate with Tattletale for her when she's got better methods of communication.

I wasn't suggesting that Skitter appeal to the public to save her, but that they and the media are a resource which she isn't tapping. She's probably got nothing to gain from it at the moment, but the option is there.

 

I think you think a city block is a lot larger than it actually is. 5 blocks equals roughly 1500 feet, or less than a third of a mile (average city block is 300 ft, and Word of God gives this number). Painting huge signs on the outside of the PRT building or trying to communicate with people just outside who are probably less frustrated with the PRT than most (being in such close proximity) is probably not the best choice of actions. Taylor didn't set herself up as some evil overlord with spies and sleeper cells all over the city, and she specifically told Tattletale to back off while she did her thing.

 

Well, Skitter said in the latest chapter she doesn't want a war; that's why she's not contacting the media. She could use the media to her own ends, but she knows Tagg doesn't care, so its short-term effects are shaky. It also paints her as an aggressor. Tagg will see her as an aggressor no matter what she does, I think, but she doesn't want to give him any reason to validate his claims.

 

Does anyone else find it strange that Tagg is so fiercely defending "non-capes in charge of PRT" even as he brings in Alexandria for support?

Next chapter, I'm hoping we get some comeuppance for Tagg a la Emma Barnes. Mostly I just want to see that smug little smile of his disappear.

The two sides of the issue appear to be: public perception of control over capes vs less bureaucracy.

 

Well, did he bring in Alexandria or did she decide to make herself known and he's playing it off as part of his grand scheme?

 

Trying to use Alexandria is unlikely to end well, given that she's got an agenda or her own. Methinks Tagg's arrogance is about to bite him in the arse, here.

So this latest chapter went in the direction I didn't think it was going at all!

Fucking idiots, really. Why would they put Taylor in the corner? Don't they know she has a habit of not buckling under pressure? I guess we can expect a birdcage arc? Unless she somehow escapes before being transported? I wonder if Imp/Reagent are going to birdcage too? Or if they'll be busted out in the short-term by Tattletale?

Also, I'm calling dibs on Brian being dead. Rachel had a "completed" character arc too, but she has that whole baby wolf subplot that hasn't been resolved.

 

I knew things were gonna get bad when I reached this paragraph...my heart was pounding by the end of the chapter.

 

Heh, and to think I thought Alexandria was going to be a calming presence. Realistically though, this is probably the more interesting route this arc could take. Seems more and more likely Skitter might end up in the Birdcage at any rate.

 

The newest chapter had my blood pounding in my veins, it was that intense.

And it's really shocking to see Taylor being beaten down like this while still in custody. Either Grue or Bitch are dead, another hard hit. It looks to me as if it's the Birdcage for Skitter, Imp and Regent.

 

Not gonna lie, that was immensely satisfying, seeing Taylor take them down.
Can't wait for the next update for some info on if she was successful or not.

I really hope Alexandria is dead. I know it will mess with future Endbringer attacks, but I don't really care.

 

Hm...I can see Alexandria surviving if she is fast enough to jump into a furnace or crematory to clear out the insects. But I really wouldn't mind seeing her go either. Isn't Scion supposed to show up at the next EndBringer attack, primed to kill? The loss of Alexandria wouldn't be bad news for the world then.

And I'm leaning more towards Grue being the one killed

 

Yeah I feel like Grue's bit the dust. Fuck, did not see that coming. Up until now the stagnancy of the location was really bothering me, but that just made this pay off even more worth it.

I hope Alexandria fucking choked to death and that Tagg stays down.
