Tis a fair point, LCS is more of a fun than a learning experience, although I recommended it because generally Riv & Phreak who do the NA commentary are quite informative. Generally streams are far better for learning though, so, glad to hear you found several you like.

Was my first impression too, but the more I think on it, the more I get stupidly excited over the prospect - I blame the fact I actually liked Equilibrium with its Grammaton Clerics (which is what the champion seems to resemble) for this.

2013, breaking new boundaries in League it would seem. Its own personal professional tournament run by Riot, Romanian and Italian languages added, new offices and servers in Australia and now at long last, a black champion.

 

Anyone want to start a petition to keep black champions out of the league?

Could even be designed as an AP which likes to auto-attack, kind of like Teemo or AP-Kayle. Probably AD, though, yes.

 

Well I think the last four champs added were a support, an adc, a jungle, and a mid. If the picture isn't fake it could be an AD top champ.

 

Zac top is so stupidly fun, first time playing the champion and I picked it into a Singed, naturally a farm-off commences.

I think I did a shitty job with my build though.
Went R>Q>W>E

Started 2x rejuv beads, 1 ward & 1hp pot
Rushed a giants belt & negatron into spirit visage > warmogs > sorc boots.
Once I got Sorc boots the trades just went terribly for him, doubly so as he never popped my passive in lane and it was a jungle-free lane all game.

After that I just E - R'd their carries (Lux & Ashe) & had my way with them alongside our Wukong, just, they had no hope and they couldn't dive our Draven because Lee/Janna peel's pretty good.

The best bit? Jumping from 86lp to a promo series for Gold V after not touching ranked in 4 days. I feel like I should be concerned for the imminent ass-whopping coming my way.

Final build was Abyssal, Sorc Boots, Spirirt Visage, Warmogs & Sunfire. Last item... Not actually sure, maybe a Deathcap or something?

No worries, it's more about your experience with a new champion in top lane and not just about the ranked side of things. The point of ranked diaries is to keep the general thread from being only about ranked games.

I don't play Zac at all, but I'd think you would need liandry's to keep your damage relevant.

 

Probably, I imagine he drops off in late-game and I think I only really did so well once we hit teamfights because their carries were Lux/Ashe vs me & Wukong, so, no escapes on either side vs a slow & 2 knock-ups.

I guess it depends on enemy builds on how to finish it off, damage wise I felt like I was doing -ok- though I feel like Zac's role in a teamfight is very much to disrupt with his ult and e so, kinda pop your ult, knock everyone you can up and end up on their carries somehow spamming your % damage.

I'd definitely say I need to practise more though, nearly got my passive popped several times due to my blobs flying into Singed's minions or towards where he was running so, no healing and perhaps vary my starting items, 2 rejuv beads & the regen from defensive felt a little overkill.

 

I want to try a different kind of Jayce build. He has lots of support already with his E speed+peel. Right now people play him building AD to take advantage of his great poke, making him an excellent addition to poke teams.

It works great, obviously, if you've watched any OGN.


I want to try something different. Already you have a great kit with his speed and E. Just with that you can be a decent peel for your team. I want to try a tanky Jarvan that can dive the enemy team instead of relying on poke. Something to use liandry's and spirit of the lizard elder with his W field, then CDR/tank items to fill in the rest of his build. SV, Shurelyas, and locket.

 

I don't really the point in that built Churchey. For one, SV is completely pointless in a build with no heal on a character with no natural sustain, you may as well build a banshee's veil and get a free spellshield.

 

Just the CDR/tank items I could remember.

And the point would be dealing a lot of aoe damage while being a really tanky threat and still giving his team peel and utility.

 

Depends on your build, I'd argue SV is still superior in most situations due to the fact it gives CDR and you're bound to build lifesteal eventually, though not on a tanky Jayce.

Banshee's I find is only really useful against comps where you're bound to get caught out, though there are plenty of other people I'd pick one up against.

As for the tanky Jayce idea, not too sure. He starts off with fairly low base armor and doesn't have scaling mr (think I'm correct in saying most champions don't?) due to his design, I wouldn't say he's really meant to be played as a tank with utility. Not too sure about it as a whole, Jayce feels fairly easy to deal with in a TF and he has no tank-steroids or defensive extra's to help him out so I feel like he'd just melt anyway. I guess he's up there with Lee in terms of peeling capability but, again, that relies on team comps and the like.

 

His ult gives 5/10/15% free defensive stats.

For CDR why not go FH+/-Frozen Fist, that's 40% cdr with even more peel.

 

His hammer form does yes, so it's about not getting caught, fairly easy to do on Jayce but you never know. Still don't think it'll work out all that well, I feel like it would be like a Lee by late-game, you can peel amazingly well but not really do much else. I don't play or own Jayce though so, no idea honestly.

Depends on the team comp and who you're more concerned about, what role you think you'll be taking up in a TF and so on. If they've only got 1 AP, sure, grab an FH/FF. I don't think FH works too well on Jayce unless they've got 2 AS based champions (Irelia, arguably Ashe etc), FF probably has more success on a 'tanky' Jayce though I still can't say I'm a fan of it on paper.

Just strikes me as getting destroyed in lane due to no damage output and having no real input by late-game, mid is... up in the air.

 

Well that's the point of the elder lizard/liandrys, gives decent damage and makes his W field nearly as good as a hecarim soul field thing. It's pretty decent aoe damage.

 

I suppose, though a Bulwark will inevitably even out the penetration brought by Liandry's and your only slow comes from Hammer Q, so, Liandry's isn't used to its full potential unless you've got someone else with a good solid slow.

Elder Lizard falls off by late-game too. Like I said, I don't play Jayce so, I could be wrong but I feel like a BT would be better by late-game, even though a shock blast with Elder Lizard is really nice over an extended poke war.
