Not really suprised by the team 7 reunion, been calling that one for a while now. Although I have to agree Sakura is pretty much a tag along with Sasuke and Naruto. I'm imagining a big ass rasenshuriken and lot of fire = one big boom.

It will end with the Second Hokage sacrificing a whole lot of Zetsu clones (if there arn't enough left, Hashirama will just make more) to revive everyone who ever died, except Jiraya, because he died a meaningful death.

Then the First Hokage, Kazekage, Mizukage, Iwakage and Kumokage will rule everyone for ever and ever in eternal peace, because apparently, mercenaries don't need work.
And the new Generation will never suceed the old Generation. There immortal.

Maybe, though the fact that he believes he can become the leader of the village, or even has the moral RIGHT to believe that is whats so annoying to me. Sasuke abandoned and betrayed the village and worked for 3 years for the man who wanted to destroy the village. And just a few chapters ago, he was planning on destroying it and murdering everyone there, including the innocents. Now he never actually went through with it, but I think that the very fact that he was planning on it makes the very idea of him as a hokage insulting. I could accept him returning to the village since he did help to end the edo tensei and brought the hokages to help. But after the stuff he has pulled, thats not enough in my view for him to even consider becoming the leader of the damn village, and the sheer arrogance he demonstrated by thinking he can is sickening. I could maybe accept him becoming hokage in several decades or something if/when Naruto retires, after he has spent years and years redeeming himself and proving to the village&world that he truly has changed.

But right now? Its bullshit.

It would not surprise me if Naruto mentors Sasuke about Itachis words, causing Sasuke (who basically worships Itachi) to instantly change his mind and acknowledge the people that he rejected here (such as the rookies), and as a result becoming the hokage, while Naruto becomes somekind of wandering sage. And I will find the whole thing utterly sickening.

I think Naruto struggled a lot more than that. Yes, the actual KCM training went fast, but don't forget that before that he was having a LOT of trouble with Kyuubis chakra. He repeatedly lost control, had his entire skin burn off repeatedly, nearly killed Jiraiya and Sakura, and so on. When you look at the struggle Naruto has gone through as a whole (rather than just the few chapters where Naruto fights Kyuubi in his mind), then I would say that yes it does make all that meaningless. Heck, Jiraiya apparently spent the entire timeskip trying to teach Naruto to control Kyuubis power, so thats instantly 3 years of difficult work on Narutos part.

Now to be fair, after reading forums and thinking about it a bit more, it does make some logical sense that Minato would be able to do it when you actually think about it. The problem Naruto always had, was that he contained both the chakra of Kurama, but also the mind/will/soul of Kurama, who only recently befriended Naruto. The whole KCM training and chakra tug was specifically to pull away portion of Kuramas chakra and separate it from Kuramas will, so it could be used freely.

I presume that there is only one mind/soul of Kurama and thats in Naruto, which would mean that the yin-chakra in Minato is actually not some sentient evil twin of the Kurama in Naruto, but just pure raw chakra without any mind/will/soul attached to it. Which means that Minato would not have needed to go through the chakra tug to separate the chakra from Kuramas will, since he never actually had Kuramas will to begin with. And once Naruto did manage to pull away Kuramas chakra in the tug-war, he seemed to instantly/instinctively know how to enter KCM so presumably having the chakra somehow gives you that knowledge, explaining how Minato could figure out how to enter it so quickly.

Even the fact that Minatos body should not be able to handle that power is fixed. While Minato was alive, his entire body went numb after he sealed the yin-chakra into himself. However he is an edo tensei now, so while presumably the yin!chakra is wrecking his insides constantly, the regeneration effect of ET counters that.

That all being said, I still don't like it. It basically takes away the one and only thing Naruto had going for him, that was actually unique to Naruto.

Toad summoning? Jiraiya and Minato have that and Naruto barely uses it and has very little skill working with toads.

Rasengan? Jiraiya, Kakashi and Minato have that, and they can all do it better than Naruto who needs either the advantage of KCM or a clone to help crete one.

Kyuubi chakra mode? Minato has that now, and can probably use it better due to his superiour skill and experience compared to Naruto.

Sage mode? Jiraiya had that ofcourse, and apparently Hashirama has a better version of it since he can do things like use it to bind Juubi singlehandedly or summon a giant buddha so huge, that it makes 100% Kurama look like a rodent. Narutos toad SM is a funny joke at that point.

Its been 600 chapters and right now, the only thing Naruto has thats still unique to him, is the thing he got in the first chapter. Mass clone spamming. You might try to count FRS, but even thats based on Minatos rasengan, and I would not be at all surprised to learn that now that Minato has KCM, he will be able to use FRS (or equivalent for another element) and will show it soon.

Thats one of the main reasons why the whole thing bugs me so much. Naruto has literally become completely and utterly obsolete. His posturing about team 7 united becomes silly, when you realise that the truth is that he is no longer needed and might aswell go home.

Yeah, he should just have handed that yin-chakra to Naruto, and then proceeded to knock Juubi around using his OWN skills and abilities, showing to the world that sometimes you don't need super-power boosts like senju dna or jinchuuriki powers to be badass. But I guess in Naruto you do these days, and those who don't possess these kind of abilities are just inherently inferior (a mild exaggeration, but you get my point).

You do realise that there is about 95% chance that not only is Sakura going to go slug sage mode in the next chapter, but she will also activate the super-regeneration seal Tsunade used, instantly matching Naruto and Sasuke with SM enhanced speed and strength and super-regeneration. She will also summon Katsuyu to help. Lets see if I was right.

Yeah, not sure where I really fall on the whole "shipping" thing, but even then I felt that it was really insulting to Hinata to just declare that Sakura was his GF after all the interaction between Hinata just a few moments ago. Naruto is obviously under no obligation to feel anything for Hinata, but there is such as thing as not being an asshole and publicly stomping all over her feelings like Naruto did here.

That was somewhat amusing. Madara is all eagerly awaiting Hashirama, and when the guy finally arrives he just goes "you are not important, ill deal with the Juubi first and take care of a minor problem like you later".

That was incredibly stupid.

Ironically, it actually weakens the Sandaime and makes it look he is suffering from senility that comes with age. Maybe Kishi himself has forgotten it, but Sarutobi was TRAPPED inside a barrier pre-timeskip, and there had to be some beacon seals in the village. Sarutobi knowing Hiraishin would mean he could have escaped the barrier instantly, rather than staying to fight 2 edo hokages and Orochimaru alone. If we learn that he actually knew Hiraishin all along, then its further proof that Kishi has grown tired of Naruto and decided to just fuck it all up.

See when Hashirama and Madara were bidding to become Hokage, Hashirama became Shodaime. That consequently made Madara, along with various other factors, throw a hissy fit and leave.
So to break the cycle of hatred, Naruto convinces everyone and makes Sasuke the Hokage.
Classic Retarded Kishi Logic at its best. I'm calling it. You saw it on DLP first.

There's also this associative-Sannin-Hokages as I shall call them henceforth.
Jiraiya's student Minato became fourth.
Tsunade herself became fifth.
Orochimaru's student Sasuke becomes the next Hokage.

I would love for Kishi to prove me wrong and that he was trolling, but I don't see it happening.
Naruto sacrifices his dream of being Hokage but gets in true loooovee with Sakura instead.

And lastly about Minato mastering the Kyuubi's half chakra. You have to remember that its just Chakra. There's no sentience behind it. No Kyuubi to fight on the other side of the bars. Just a big hunk of chakra that he can use whenever he wants.
So I'm not too bothered by that shit.

 

Don't forget that Naruto will suddenly turn retarded for a comedy scene. I mean, can we really have an 'idiot' as Hokage?

 

This would have been the best chapter ever if, after Sakura had spouted that line about asking whether Naruto and Sasuke thought she was a useless woman, they both turned and said 'yep' in unison and went into battle without her.

 

Yeah, which is why aside from plot reasons, why Minato just didnt give Naruto the chakra and take the soul/spirit with him instead should be explained imo.

 

This update is massively disappointing. I was expecting the shodaime to throw the big jutsus, the nidaime and sandaime to provide defense, support while minato zips around providing instant offense or continuing his fight with Tobi and giving back up to kakashi.

Also, what the hell happened to the five kages? Shouldn't they arrive first before finally the big fish hokages? And now orochimaru Is probably sneaking around, bringing back jiraiya just for the hell of it because kishimoto wants a grand reunion of sorts.

 

To be fair to Minato, he had to die to pull this off. And not even a "moving on to the afterlife" death but a "trapped in the stomach of a freaky entity to suffer eternally" death.

The last time we saw them they were all almost dead. Tsunade wanted to heal them, but I doubt she could do much since she was probably in the worst shape of them all, even if she was the only one still conscious.

Anyway, I agree with a lot of complains. Even if it makes sense for Minato to easily control Kyuubi chakra, it takes too much away from Naruto. And the Fourth was already awesome enough.

And Sasuke as the Hokage? What a joke. He doesn't deserve to be the Hokage and even Naruto knows this. But I can't see that happening for reasons mentioned by Trooper.

Lastly, what are the chances that we will see the ending before this year ends? I think they are pretty good, but it depends on what Kishi plans to do with Oro.

 

Yeah, that is another plothole.

Though to be fair, there might be reasons for that. To give one example, we have had several scenes now where Naruto actually runs out of Kuramas chakra due to using it at exteme levels. The Kurama sealed inside Naruto then does that meditation thing to create more chakra for Naruto.

But if Minato does not have a Kurama inside him, then what happens when his chakra runs out? Should he not run out of KCM completely, or at best have to wait a long time for it to naturally regenerate without Kurama to speed it up? Maybe ET!Minato won't have this problem if the chakra regeneration of ET applies to his KCM too, but living Naruto would have had that problem.

Its also possible that sealing away the soul of a bijuu is impossible.

Oh, and here is something interesting I read in another forum. It seems that Minato has just truly become the TRUE ninja jesus. Why? Because he just resurrected himself thanks to Kuramas yin chakra.

Minatos eyes are black, and his face is full of cracks. That instantly allows Sakura to realise that Minato is an edo tensei.

Notice that not only have the edo tensei cracks vanished completely, but more importantly his eyes have returned to normal and no longer show the signs of being an edo tensei.

Even the super-duper Hashirama in SM still shows the ET signs, despite probably having more raw chakra than even Minato in KCM does.

So heres my next prediction of Kishi asspulls. Neither Naruto NOR Sasuke will become the hokage. The life energy of KCM just ended Edo Tensei and brought Minato back to true life, and he will resume his position as Yondaime Hokage and Naruto will get a real living father to live happily ever after with. Huzzah.

 

I hated this chapter. I think the only good thing that came out of this is that Minato is at least shown to have a superior teleportation jutsu than that of the Second Hokage. Also, with the KCM mode of Minato I finally see his resemblance to Naruto.

As for Sasuke. Well, I always thought he was going to be Hokage. As for romance, it's always been stupid anyway.

I don't think Naruto's obsolete at all though. His fighting style is completely different from both Minato's and Hashirama's. Plus, he's got a bigger rasengan. I still think Naruto's the most hax character in the manga.

 

His stupidity and obnoxiousness is one of a kind.


As for the chapter, I agree with most of the complaints so far : Minato's awesome entrance was kind of ruined by his having KCM.

 

I just can't bring myself to get angry anymore.

While I hope that Sasuke doesn't really become Hokage, I think this pronouncement does signal his redemption (as clumsy as it was) which means he can now die a meaningful sacrificial death. Definitely not ideal, but better than the alternative.

Also, I think Kishimoto is gonna troll the shit out of us again when Team 7 gets to fighting. Sasuke, and especially Sakura, are gonna break the scale of instant power ups in this manga. I predict that they will not struggle in keeping up with Naruto, as absurd as that will seem.

Is Minato's kyubi mode the first stage or the second? It looks like the first, or atleast Im hoping it is, as that way Naruto still has something over him.
