Yes. India has four times the population of the USA [1.2 billion vs 300 million], and so four times the capes? And India is in a shittier situation, so perhaps it provides more opportunities for triggers. Aside from that, we've got China and the CUI right next door to India. That's a lot of weight to add to the hero side.

That said, Japan is also next door to China, and they got curb stomped by Leviathan. Wouldn't be surprised if China just let them drown though. There's no love lost between those two nations.

I understand perfectly, but if it's coming anyway, I'd go with The Irregulars. I want to see what Weld is up to. It'd be a fresh look at things from a completely different perspective compared to the morally murky ones we've seen so far.

See; World War II, Second Sino-Japanese War.
Pretty good reasons to hold a grudge. But had Leviathan done any sort of massive damage similar to wiping out half of Honshu before? I thought that was one of the Oh Shit moments.

Leviathan attacked Japan on 2nd November 1999, then hit Brockton Bay on 15th May 2011. Given the stated time between Endbringer attacks being about 4 months, that makes for 48 attacks between then and Brockton Bay. Alexandria had probably just started fighting the Endbringers at that point.

So yeah, this was probably a big wake up call for the world, and part of the reason why Alexandria was so famous.

I liked the Wards arc, but the whole Travelers into Echidna arcs were the low point of the tale, quality wise, so I'll withhold judgments

I wasn't such a big fan of the Travelers' arc, myself. I don't remember outright skimming but I might have done. It could be because I was reading that as backlog rather than update, though. When you only have one chapter to read at a time skimming is impossible :p

I would be a bit pissed off at not seeing what Taylor is doing as soon as possible! The other problem with the Travelers' arc was that it took place... in the past. I want to know what happens in the here and now. This timeline is the one we are most invested in.

Wait, you think the traveller's arc was of low quality? How so?

The characters weren't very compelling and there was characterization issues compared to how they'd been portrayed before. That and the whole "woe is me" stuff that came out of the Echidna gal whose name escapes me in the second arc really started to grate.

I was sort of hoping we'd be going somewhere like Iran, where there might be some remote possibility of learning about Simurgh, or at least, how its name relates to its behavior. India was a part of Persia, but... I doubt we'll be hearing much of another endbringer while fighting another.

As much as China may dislike Japan, they need them for the stability of the area. China would offer aid to Japan, I can't see them purposefully holding back. Aid might come with strings attached, of course, but I doubt they left Japan to fend for itself. Japan losing one of its island in "our world" would be equivalent to a massive economic disturbance; China would lose lots of business if it allowed such a thing to happen. Whatever they might gain in a territorial sense or in a historical-vendetta sense wouldn't be worth it.

The fight against Behemoth in Alexandria's interlude was the first appearance of an Endbringer. She's been fighting them since day 1.

There's also a good chance that Behemoth is actually going to get killed in this fight. Remember Scion's interlude? Should be interesting to see what conclusions everyone in the Worm-verse jump to, if Scion decides to let loose and murder an Endbringer during the first and only fight not led and directed by the Triumvirate. Down with Cauldron!

I'll be honest that I don't think Scion will be capable of killing an Endbringer. Maybe on paper he is but on paper he's also capable of reaching them while they recuperate.

Scion's directive is to help people and he shows up where he's directly needed - note that he often doesn't appear for Enderbringer fights because he is busy helping somebody else somewhere. I don't think he can be preemptive about it and off these guys when they are not directly harming anyone.

I think I saw someone mention that we don't have a date for when Kevin's (The guy who has the strange link to Scion/Zion) took place, so we actually don't know if Scion/Zion will be trying to kill Behemoth or not.

Hmm, yes, I'd forgotten that. I'm still not sure he'll actually be able to stop an Endbringer. They seem more like the kind of thing you eventually manage to trap, say, in another dimension rather than kill.

Yeah, it makes a lot more sense to trap the EndBringers and render them incapable of harm than attempting to kill them. It'd be pretty easy with the powers and tech they have available. Maybe Simurgh is different, but Leviathan?

For example, why not construct a dummy with the exact size and mass as Leviathan and allow Trickster to teleport him into orbit?

Dauntless was trapped by a time distortion grenade. Why not make a larger weapon with similar function for use on Leviathan?

Dauntless was caught in the blast of the grenade they were trying to use on Leviathan.

Trickster can only teleport things as far as he can see. Orbit's too far. And he's in the Birdcage, without his will thanks to Teacher.

And Bakuda made that grenade, since she's dead they can't replicate it, especially considering it came as a result of her specialized tinker powers.

We know that the normal laws of physics, as we understand then, stop applying when you get sufficiently deep under Leviathan's skin. It's possible that it would work but it might not be permanent. There's also the issue of finding someone - almost certainly a tinker - that's capable of building that! There might be a lot of them, but that's a bit of an out of the way specialisation for a tinker to have.

Well, if he attacked on a day that the moon was in full view they could teleport the Endbringer there.
