The only comment I really have so far is that the actor chosen for Roose Bolton is kind of disappointing in relation to his description in the book.

 

Funny, everywhere I turn this is what I hear. I'm going to defend the actor though. His character moments were cannibalized in order to give Tywin and Arya some time together. We haven't really had any chance to see him as anything but a slightly cold and ruthless lord because it simply hasn't been written.

 

I meant more the actual description, the little bit that he's actually done is spot on in characterization. I just always pictured someone a little more...ugly, for lack of a better word.

Yes, well, his description is 'not handsome, but not quite plain'. The actor is a bit too attractive, but hey, that happens all the time. I think his Roose is fantastic, despite the fact that he isn't soft, hairless, unwrinkled, pale.

Irritated that I like him a hell of a lot more than I ever did in the books, yes. I particularly disliked him in the books, so the change in his portrayal is a bit jarring.

This was...satisfying.

I already said I was just waiting for the reactions, and they delivered. The scene as a whole delivered. People seem to get just how fucked up the Red Wedding was as an event.

Overall, 10/10 would watch people get murdered at a wedding feast again. If you're gonna have a bloody massacre of some of the series' more likable characters, doing it right is the only way to go.

I'm amazed by how much they squeezed into one episode. But damn, this means another year before we see the rest of Book 3 and Joffrey's just desserts.

 

That was a good episode aside from the corny Dany segment at the end. Hit me right in the feels when Ygritte started cryin after shooting Jon.

 

Yeah, that part was really poorly done. In fact, I think most of Dany's scenes were lacklustre this season in comparison to the first two.

I don't know, I feel like this episode failed as a season finale. There were some cool moments, but it was more of a series of postscripts than anything else.
