Zee's Nuzlocke run has begun with ROARian the Cyndaquil.

I have acquired Minion, the Sentret defeated my archnemesis Zombie as well as the gym leader Falkner.

Alrighty then, people. I'm going to be hitting you with an update post on my most recent run soon, but before then I'd like to finalize the Nuzlocke^2 rules so there's no more confusion.

    Nuzlocke Squared Rules

    - If a pokemon dies, it dies. No exceptions.

    - One evolution a gym badge. No more, no less. No "credit". You evolve when you have the badge in your hands.

    - If you want to catch a new pokemon you have to level your most recent catch 10 times. No leveling one pokemon 30 times and catching three new ones. Has to be the most recent.

    - If your most recent catch dies before you can level it 10 times, no more pokemanz for you, son (might as well keep it hardcore, eh LT?).

    Bonus Rules

    - Naming theme (Food, sexual positions, etc.)

    - No starters. Catch something near the starting area, whether it's your first encounter or something you chose.

So this will be the final version, as far as I'm concerned. Nuzlocke Gauntlet rules are largely the same, except we add a new restriction for every region. These then roll over into the next region and so on. So...

    Johto

    - No storage spaces- you can have six 'mons at any one time. That's it.

    Hoenn

    - No event/gift 'mons (Eevee, Red Gyarados, Dratini, casino, etc.)

    Sinnoh

    - No TMs.

Phew. That's it. Tried to keep it as non-convoluted as possible, but heh. Hardcore hardcore is complex.

Next up is ze progress report. Stay tuned.

    I prefer these rules.

    -N^2 Rules

-You give up your starter for the first pokemon you see after you get Pokeballs.

-Add normal Nuzlocke rules in. Including that if you see any pokemon before you get Pokeballs you can't use those routes.

Should I call these rules Nuzlocke Cubed?

Those conflict with Nuzlocke and Nuzlocke^2 too much, I think. Up to you, though.

    Clarification:
When you say badge in hand, does that mean that if you gain a level in a gym match and can evolve your pokemon after that gym match, you have to deny the evolution and go level again to evolve, since technically the gym leader hasn't handed you the badge yet?

That's how I've been playing it.

I almost ran into that situation against Gardenia on this current run with my Zubat. I just decided to do the Evolution prior to fighting her to make the battle easier since I still had my one from Roark stocked, but I would have defined it as being permissible. After all, you've earned the Badge by defeating the Gym Leader.

Evolving after gym matches is fine. You've beaten the leader and earned the badge. It belongs to you at that point, even if it is not yet on the card.

Makes a rather satisfying reward after a tough battle, too.

Yeah, as long as you've beaten the Gym Leader you can use the badge they're associated with for an evo.

Things have gone batshit insane on this run. Even compared to my last Dunsparce-wipe. Gonna summarise here.

I was planning to use a Geodude starter, but as soon as I got pokeballs, a shiny Pidgey popped out of the grass. Had to catch that shiny mofo. Evolved it a little way after the first gym. It died in THE INCIDENT, which I shall speak of soon enough.

    [IMG][IMG]
Then came Wooper. He evolved just before I took on Whitney. Saved my ass many a time. Also died at THE INCIDENT. Look at that Quagsire, wanting a hug. What a cute little monster.

    [IMG][IMG]
Next came Oddish. He was backseated for ages, but eventually got evolved to Gloom and then immediately again to Bellossom after the sixth gym. He steamrolled the seventh gym, only dying to Pryce's last pokemon. He is currently the only death not to have occurred at THE INCIDENT.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
I had an amazing stroke of luck next. Technician Scyther from the Bug Catching Contest. Admittedly, I cheated and altered the DS clock to make it a Tuesday, but the Scyther was all natural. He was a bro. OHKOs on almost everything. Until THE INCIDENT.

Seel was my next pokemon, arriving just before Bellossom died. Poor, sweet Seel. He almost averted THE INCIDENT. But it was not to be. I evolved him just before the dragon gym.

    [IMG][IMG]

Soon after, I got a Magnemite from the Safari Zone. It evolved just before facing Clair. Lock-on plus Thunder is Gyarados' eternal banhammer.

    [IMG][IMG]
Finally, I picked up an Eevee. I plan to turn this little beauty into an Espeon, but it's still only a baby. But it has power within it, as THE INCIDENT proved.

    THE INCIDENT:

This should not have happened. It's ridiculous. But it did. I was fighting the eighth gym leader, Dragon Tamer Clair. Her Gyarados died in a single hit to Magneton. One of her Dragonairs died in two hits to Dewgong's STAB nevermeltice enhanced Aurora Beam. But then.

    But then.

Everything died. Kingdra had a sliver of health left, but my only pokemon left was a tiny little Eevee. Level 19.

Kingdra used Hydro Pump. Kingdra missed. Eevee used Tackle. The sole survivor of my N2 battle with Clair was a tiny little furfag. Goddamn.

I'm still feeling confused and betrayed. There's so much grinding ahead of me, it's almost tempting to just start over instead of attempting to work my way back up to fighting levels. I've caught some more pokemon. Here's how things stand as I leave it for the night, having obtained eight badges and needing to get to Victory Road:

    Level 19 Eevee, 23 Onix, 26 Tauros, 5 Heracross
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

When I next switch on, I'm going to grab the Union Cave Lapras and use one of my evolutions on Eevee. That gives me anempty space on my team, and one possible evolution. Crobat is an option where the odds are ever in my favour, but I'm not sure about that yet, although it's a great pokemon. 'stachebat ftw.

What the fuck, Eevee? You beast.

Edit: Also, if anyone wants a shiny Pidgeot, I can't use it anymore since it's dead, and it's looking like I may have to start over and erase this run.

That Kingdra is a goddamned widowmaker. I've been supremely lucky to get past it in two Nuzlocke runs without losing anything. I wonder if I'd be so lucky a third time?

I'm not so sure on rule 3. I can't imagine that you'd get very far if you had to evolve a pokemon 10 times before you could catch another.

I always set my camp up before the various widow makers. Some TV series on marathon, snacks, drinks, and an area of accessible easy grinding for my pokemon. Then I'm not done until I have a 10-20 level advantage on everyone involved.

I just got my gen one and three physicals, getting ready to nuzlocke every gen in order, more than once, then do the same in N^2 so that when I buy Y, I will be able to N^2 my first run of it, with Froakie.

I know nothing about Pokemon past basics and how to attack, I've said it before, but I keep not starting Nuzlocke due to depression and losing motivation but now that i have fire red I can truly stomp this shit...

    Current Team

    J.V. Grace (Crobat) - 48
    Koon A.A. (Jolteon) - 48
    Emile (Bronzong) - 46
    Laure (Quagsire) - 48
    Mazino (Lucario) - 48
    Leesoo (Bidoof) - 15

Finally leveled Enne the Snover to 42 via Vs. Seeker abuse on Route 214. Somewhat slow going as Blizzard is her only reliable killing move and using that required me to return to the Pokemon Center in Veilstone between each battle. I also had to evolution cancel some once she hit 40.

With that done, I returned to Snowpoint and headed back south with Rak the Rhyhorn (my Rock Climb slave) in tow to battle a couple more Trainers and get items. That process gets Emile up to 48.

Next up is Galactic HQ in Veilstone. Easy going here, other than a little Confuse Ray annoyance due to several Galactic Grunts having Golbats in their teams. J.V. Grace hits Level 50 in here, with partner in crime Koon A.A. getting close to the same when it's time to...

    Versus Cyrus 2

Not much to talk about here. Koon A.A. shows Cyrus that there's room for only one evil genius in Sinnoh, dismissing his trio of Pokemon single handed and without a scratch to show. Double Kick wrecks Sneasel due to double weakness, and Thunderbolt obviously roasts Crobat and Honchkrow. It is really damn awesome to be able to outspeed a Crobat, by the way.

Cyrus retreats to Mt. Coronet, where the last showdown is destined to take place. He is a good sport and hands over a Master Ball that is earmarked to become home to Giratina.

Before I can tail him, I have to set the lake trio loose. To do that, I have to go through...

    Versus Commander Saturn 2

Koon gets to lead again, and zaps Golbat and Bronzor with Thunderbolt. The latter gets him to Level 50 and I switch in Emile to handle Toxicroak. Toxicroak has higher speed and criticals with Brick Break, but Bronzong's defenses are such that it doesn't even come close to killing it and the battletoad gets mind blasted with Extrasensory.

And with that, my business in Veilstone is wrapped up.

And now, with a wild capture open, it's time to add one option to close out my team. Fly all the way home to Twinleaf Town and walk up to that little pond outside my house.

You know what I'm doing here. Steel Eel the Magikarp caught.

New Capture: Steel Eel the Magikarp, Level 5. Next capture at Level 15.

So I have this, and will Exp. Share it up ten levels before entering Mt. Coronet. Wanted to get this out of the way now before catching Giratina and being locked into having to level it up before catching something else. And with that done, it's time to settle up with Cyrus for the final time.

    Summary

Badges Obtained: Coal, Forest, Relic, Cobble, Fen, Mine, Icicle

Most Recent Capture: Magikarp, Level 15. Next capture available now.

It has been a while since I last wrote up. A lot has happened in my playthrough but I digress.

After beating up some Plasma scum, I hop on a boat and head towards Castelia City. I spend some time running around the city, gathering items such as the Shiny Charm, some TMs and even a Leaf Stone. Brugh, the local gym leader is currently MIA. Iris pops out of no where and shows me a new place, the sewers.

In the sewers, I run into a lowly Rattatta. This guy, named Prom, is immediately boxed.

I beat up some Plasma thugs, once again, and some strange guy in a lab coat talks for a bit. He is weird but leaves. Brugh is here and finally returns to his gym so I can challenge him. I enter the Relic Passage that the weird man came from and before I find a wild encounter, I found a Dust Cloud! In this dust cloud was an Onix. I catch this badass and name him Lamora - Level 20 Onix

Onix in this game are so freakin buffed. Stats from 70 speed to 110 speed and 45 attack to 85 attack! Minor buffs on everything else besides his defense. With this in mind, I decide to use Lamora and replace Rents the Machoke with him. I don't even plan to make Lamora a Steelix because of those speed buffs. Plus Weak Armor makes him even faster.

I explore the sewers some more and find a small grass area in the city. Here I catch a Munna and name it Cheddar!

Cheddar is boxed immediately. The Psychic types from Gen V are pretty weka imo.

I spend a lot of time in this grass, Audino grinding as fast as I can. I need to get my team ready for Brugh and his insane pokemon. It is here that I evolve Plume and Poytin into their final forms.

    [IMG][IMG]

Poytin gains the typing of Grass/Dragon from this evolution. Now armed with DragonBreath, Leaf Blade and some other moves, he is a force to be reckoned with.

I leave this hidden area and return to town. Before Brugh, I challenge Wattson with Lamora and just completely shitstomp him. It takes the combined might of Lamora and Churchey but it works out. I move onto the gym and just steamrolled through his trainers.

Brugh himself is a little bit harder. He did make Plume forced to recall and I relied on LT2000 a lot for this battle.

In the end, I get the badge and the TM for X-Scissor. It is time to move on. I head north and that crazy dude from the sewers wants to fight.

I say np and challenge him. Colress was harder that Brugh. He has a much stronger team in this hack than in BW2. Hell all the trainers do. Featuring a strong line up of steel/psychic types plus an annoying Speed Boost Fan Rotom, he has amazing AI. I beat him but I am forced to heal after the battle. I return and try to catch a new pokemon in the desert. I want a Sandile but alas, I find a Scraggy

I catch her anyways and name her Vira the Level 23 Scraggy

She's timid in nature, like every damn fighter I find and has the ability Shed Skin. I box her for now but Vira will be showing up soon enough.

I explore the desert near the ruins heavily. I don't run into anything that I could catch but I gather all the items, including a Fire Stone and head out so I could reach Nimbasa City.

When I arrive, my goal is to get access to the Battle Subway. Rosa and I beat the two subway bosses and then I challenge the Battle Subway. I need a Water Stone. Doesn't take long and with Lamora, Poytin and Churchey, I beat all the trainers easily. I get my 3 points and buy myself a Water Stone. Immediately I use it on Ash and he becomes a badass Poliwrath

With Ash and Churchey combined with Rents and Vira, I think I want to complete this theme and get myself a team full of fighters.

I challenge the sport stadiums and crush these trainers. Inside I also find Flannery. Ash bubblebeamed everything she had and did it again because I accidentally challenged her twice.

At any rate, I enter the amusement park and go on a Ferris Wheel ride with his nursery aid. She's flirtting with me heavily. Damn GameFreak, its about time!

After my fun up at the top of the Ferris Wheel, I challenge Elesa.

Lamora is ready. LT2000 and Poytin will provide backup if need be.

She has 5 pokemon, all 33 to level 35. My pokemon are pushing 40. Lamora with Bulldoze wrecks a lot of these pokemon. Lantern, I use Poytin's Leaf Blade. Electabuzz and Emogla all fall to Lamora. Her next pokemon is an Ampharos. I ain't scared. I use Bulldoze but it doesn't die. Then the unthinkble happen. a Crithax fucking Signal Beam from her Ampharos kills Lamora.

    God fucking dammit.

LT2000 comes in for revenge and simply Lava Plumes all over the place and destroys her Zebriskta and finishes off Ampharos.

Elesa has been beaten but I suffered my first causality.

R.I.P Lamora. You will be missed.

With sadden eyes, I move onto Route 5. Time to catch a new pokemon. I make my way to the grass and make it to the Dark Grass without a pokemon. In this Dark Grass I find a Farfetch'd. At first, I was like meh but I caught him anyways. I welcomed Thaum the level 27 Farfetch'd to the team.

I discover, however, that the hack makes Farfetch'd a Flying/Fighting type AND buffed its stats heavily. It also edited his movepool slightly. 65 attack to 136 attack. 60 speed to 122 speed. On top of this, the item Stick can be found on Route 7. With that attack and some insane crit ratios. I cannot fucking wait.

I have 5 of the 6 fighting pokemon that I want. I head back to the center and deposit Plume for Vira to train both her and Thaum on Audinos. Thaum learns Sacred Sword and Night Slash during the leveling up. Vira gets Hi-Jump-Kick and Zen Headbutt.

Vira evolves into a Scrafty after some training.

After some research, I discover that I only have a few more chances for fighting types. I could find a Combusken or a Monferno in a Hidden Grotto OR I could find a Heracross, Meditate, Sawk, Throh or a Mienfoo in the coming routes. Only time will tell.

    Current Roster
    Churchey (Lucario) - 42
    Poytin (Serperior) - 40
    LT2000 (Magmar) - 39
    Ash (Poliwrath) - 38
    Thaum (Farfetch'd) - 36
    Vira (Scrafty) - 35

    Rents (Machoke) - 28

I finally finished a nuzlocke :D however it was only due to the sacrifices of my fantastic team, and motivation from all of yall who are doing even harder N2 squared etc. Anyways Giovanni went out like a bitch, Lungs the Lapras King of The Sea, fuck Kyogre. Anyways grinded a bit on my new Moltres who replaced Poytin coz I'm lazy. Got everyone on my team to 51 and challenged the E4. They were all bitches, not even worth talking about. Nuzlock was a bother, Arcanine and Blastoise were cunts D8 LT2000 was killed by a fucking hydro pump crit, so Lamora avenged him with thunder. Vash was killed by extreme speed because I forgot about it and I thought he would hit first ;_; Never the less I won!

    Team Champion Dlp
    Lamora the Zapdos Lv 52
    Drome the Articuno Lv 52
    Lungs the Lapras Lv 52
    Ash the Moltres Lv 52

    Never Forget
Vash the Aerodactyl with a naughty nature [lulz]
