Nah, Oga can't lose now after this. It would utterly bury him as a character.

And bring him back all the much better. Nevertheless what I feel will happen is that in fighting him Oga might just go a bit too much into his demonic side; something we haven't seen happening as baby Beel isn't really a corrupting demon lord.
As for the fate of Furuichi...well they've already been to hell and back so why can't they do it again?

    Fairy Tail.

What the fuck is Ultear angsting? Goddamn Mangastream also has shitty scanlations. Gray... didn't we just see this in Beelzebub? Another revive coming right up. ...I think. The author hasn't killed any of the main characters yet, I doubt he's going to start right now.

Mashima clearly read Beelzebub, saw everyone's reaction and thought that he could do better. Thus we end up with a blood-soaked pincushion (seriously, that was brutal).

Ultear spent the last seven years of her life trying to atone for her wicked deeds but as soon as she's confronted with a tough choice, she immediately and wholeheartedly goes for the wrong choice which (in her mind) is proof that she's rotten to the core. So she angsts, and angsts so hard I thought she'd actually done the deed. The whiner.

Cue Ultear giving up her life/magic so she can use her time magic on a living being.

Actually.. He's been in the manga before. Gyokuro was the one who came out of left field as the 'big bad'. He was who I was expecting for a long time.

    Tower of God is back.

What is this fanservice in my ToG? Still a good chapter though.

    And also Trinity Seven.

    Arata is still LOL.

Fanservice in ToG...even SIU admits it (Androssi's bikini special xD)

But yes; a good chapter in the sense that everything seems to be starting to come together including that seemingly random (and slightly creepy) chapter about Emile that came a while earlier. The fact that this was after a hiatus didn't hurt either...

It's a pity SIU will be going on a longer break for his operation later, but I suppose it can't be helped. Hope he gets well soon.

BTW, will the end of this arc coincide with the end of season 2? The author's note seems to imply so.

Hmm, yea. To be honest, at least they didn't win on technical grounds. They can win on a sympathy vote all they want, I don't care.

    Beelzebub.

Ye gods, that translation. Guess their usual guy was sick or something. As for the chapter itself, meh. Should have seen something like this coming, somewhat let down after last week's amazing display of balls.

EDIT: Removing the link to that godawful translation now that a better one has been provided.

    Like I said: Trafalgar Law.

And that translation offends my eyes.

I'm very disappointed that Tamura didn't have the gall to go through with it. I guess there's still the chance that Oga will lose to Takamiya (or be unable to win in time, same deal). But we know that isn't going to happen.

You guys really expect darker and edgier from Beelzebub? Really, that'd just spell the end of the manga for me. Such a drastic tone change, while excellent to a (minority?) portion of the readers like us, wouldn't be of any long-term benefit and might even alienate fans. It's not what people expect from Beelzebub and not what Beelzebub is for.

    ^ IMHO.

Beelzebub is primarily an action comedy. Killing Furuichi is as much a genre change as Naruto having a sex change and joining sasuke's harem.

meh- not much to say, mainly a plot development chapter which just leaves you more anxious for next week's installment...

It's good to have some Rak, and this chapter was a good reminder of why I love and hate Koon so much. Every time I see that smirk on his face I just want to see him lose. Excuse me while I go make some instant coffee. The only thing I am truly interested in the moment is the Viole and Androssi stuff though, and that probably won't change until they meet again so I was a little bummed that this chapter gave us nothing on that front.
