I was under the impression that Harry wasn't going to fashion a wand at least until after the War of the Five Kings. He needs materials and assuming OP meant what he said about dragon heartstrings, he won't be getting all of them until those three dragons are born and a bit grown up. Even then, he'd have to spend a bit of time sailing across to Essos and actually finding Dany.

    And Gryffindor-cest OTP.

I appreciate the review, but you shouldn't be concerned. Just one gripe though - Robb wasn't a great strategist. Not exactly. He was a great listener, and he was bold. Between the Blackfish, the Greatjon, Lord Karstark, and Roose Bolton, amongst others, he was pretty set with generals.

    Robb's war campaign -

Battled of the Green Fork - Roose Bolton commanding 16,000 foot versus Tywin Lannister and 20,000 soldiers, a good deal of them mounted. Roose looses over 5,000 men.

Battle of the Whispering Wood - Robb and 5,000 cavalry (or was it 6,000?) against Jaime and 500 outriders.

Lifting the Siege of Riverrun - Half a point for Robb, half a point for Edmure (and the Blackfish). They crush Jaime's host, but a decent sized portion of the Lannister host escapes.

That Shit at Oxcross - Ser Stafford screws up, doesn't send outriders. Greywind finds an unknown trail and Robb bypasses two castles to smash the Lannister host. Point for Robb. Fucks Jeyne Westerling. Minus half a point.

Sacking the West - No real points for strategy. This is just standard raping and pillaging. Meanwhile, the Lannisters at Casterly Rock are gathering another host.

What Could have Won him the War - Robb plans to trap Tywin between his army and the Riverlords, only he doesn't tell Edmure. With 13,000 men, Edmure repels Tywin, and he goes south to King's Landing. Minus point for Robb.

    Quoted for truth.

I'm personally of the belief that he took a page out of Jon Snow's book. ;)

Jon Snow invented oral sex on females for all I know. I see Robb as a great strategist in a Frederick of Prussia way, outmaneuvering his enemies, and more concerned about positions instead of the combat per se. Unlike Napoleon, who also outmaneuvered and worried about positions, but most on the combat side. Fight vs maneuvers.

I actually really like this idea. The Hound as Harry's bodyguard instead of Joffrey's could be very interesting. I could see them getting along really well--the Hound was fairly loyal to Joffrey in the books even though he was a little shit, and I think he'd like being attached to Harry much better because Harry isn't a little shit. The contrast between initially idealist Harry and cold-blooded pragmatist killer Sandor would be incredible, and Harry also won't like Gregor for Elia and Rhaegar's kids.

The only issue would be how freaked out the Hound must be of Harry right now. Harry did kind of go all mind-rapey on him, after all.

    Snippet

Not much happens, plot wise, but I figured some sort of snippet is better than no sort of snippet.

Kinda gross when you think of it like that, going down on whores. Ygritte was no maiden, but she wasn't banging entire wildling camps.

I am not sure. HP!Magic seems lousy in area of pure combat magic, assassinations are risky even for invisible teleporting wizards, use of mind control magic have huge risks in addition to being unethical according to any reasonable person. Fact that he can use magic is certain to cause backslash as it seems that Westeros!Magic requires human sacrifice.

And given the things he can do, people are going to think he's sacrificing virgins and babes left and right.

Dunno man, Peter Pettigrew killed 13 muggles with one blasting curse IIRC.

Being able to cut a man in pieces, stun him, kill him, et caetera... with a few words and wand movements seems pretty powerful to me.

But yeah, he definitely has to keep his magic hidden. As it is right now, a majority of people in Westeros are either indecisive or outright hostile to wizardry.

    Spying/HumInt:

    Invisibility
    Torture
    Mind reading
    Imperius
    Muffliato
    Hominum Revelio(Hello little birds)
    Unlocking and locking charms
Switching spells(Swap a letter inside an envelope, or off a raven's leg and back)
    Silencing charms
    Obliviation
    Confundus
    Cheering charms
    Fidelius
    Unbreakable magical oaths
    Poison detection

    Combat:

    Teleportation
    Explosions
    AK
    Shields
    Imperturbable clothes make perfect armor
Fire, fiendfyre, and flight make Harry a dragon.
    Healing
    Inferius
    Tracking charms

    Misc.
    summoning
    Transformation of himself
    Transfiguration
    Immunity to muggle diseases(presumably)
    Long life
    Neutralizing other magic.
    Wards
    Enchanting objects
    Repairing
    Multiple languages/learning
    Body binds
    Enlarging and shrinking(infinite Valyrian steel)

There's obviously some things that fit in multiple categories, but that should give you something to think about.

7th year Harry would be capable of at least half of that, and an old Harry with a wand would be capable of at least 80%, depending on if some of those require other components he can't transfigure or conjure.

If you don't see how HP magic can break any universe without an appropriate counter, you need to expand your horizons a bit.

Muggle repellant wards. Cast an see your enemy's die inside their own castles,
Or unable to cross a bridge or to meet his army in battle in any way that is not to his choosing.

Unbreakable cast on castle doors and walls, will make his fortress practically unbeatable.

Magic, in any setting is an ocp to the bom magical users.

It is not enough to counter entire army, it is enough to win duel with anybody but he will not survive proper ambush. And yes, it is enough to be deciding ability in a battle/siege or even entire war.

It is not instant "I win" but it allows him to operate as single-person superpower. And there are counters - intense hate toward magic, Westeros!Magic including "you die" rituals that ignore any distance limitations.

You can hate him all you want, but if you can't cut him, can't poison him, can't spy on him, can't convince anyone to betray him, how are you supposed to kill him? You can't ambush him if he can teleport and has clothes that are imperturbable. Fiendfyre, teleportation, and invisibility mean he can solo any size army.

The only real danger is R'hllor magic, but that seems more like it'd be on his side with the way the story is going. A wand is a win button, period. Even R'hllor magic seems to operate within the rules of the world. It influences people and events to make some things more likely to happen, but HP magic breaks those rules. Poison couldn't kill him, something like the Red Wedding couldn't kill him, nor could a storm push him into the sea where he drowns.

The only way for Harry to die is through incompetence, or if a chick slits his throat while he sleeps, assuming he didn't bind her with some form of magical oath or compulsion.

All this is before taking the Dragons/Others/etc. into account though, and those will be the real conflict.

In this universe you don't even need to have all that. Imagine, what good manipulator, hell, what 90% of canon character could do with Legilimency.

Meet a person. Know a person. Get his true goals. Get his plans. Get his hidden secrets. Get what drives him. Get what makes him follow. Get what makes him fear. Counter him. Manipulate him. Make him follow your plans. Use him.

    Destroy him.

Granted, you need to have possition, skills and correct personality for that type of game, but if you have, you won't need much more.
