There's been an awful lot of hacky-slashy recently and the fight between Priscilla and our mystery guest I never really found that interesting, so I'm glad it's over. I do so wish Dae and Rubel would get some more chat time.

I have a feeling he'll be a fairly sympathetic character actually. The Slayer profile for Yama has some interesting information about exactly how these 'Dogs' come to exist, and that along with the fact the Mad Dog willingly stayed away from the opening of the tournament (cooling down) so as not to be forced into a fight with Viole suggests to me that he has less choice in his temperament than he would like, and doesn't necessarily want to fight Viole at all on a conscious level.

 

Sounds to me like he was making an excuse to get away from his team. Figure there's a good chance that he's taking orders from someone (probably Baylord Yama). I just am predisposed to be hostile towards him because SIU has been pretty transparently setting him up as a rival for Viole, and I do not want to see that particular cliche show up in Tower of God. But, more than that, I just don't care about him. There are already enough plot threads and characters to deal with in this arc, that I would have preferred not to see another one of both added into the mix.

Anyway, it was good to see Prince be useful for once. Though I think his post-match bravado earned him a spot on Ran's annoying people list and that's not a good place for him to be.

 

We saw him sitting down doing nothing as Ron Mei said it though, so his reason seemed pretty legit. It's pretty likely he's a lead in to Yama's introduction, probably as another antagonistic force within FUG. The easiest way this would fit is the 'Mad Dog', for all his power, simply being another doomed victim of the Bayroad from the moment he had the procedure done to him. Which would fit in well with what we have going on with Emily, the Devils and Beta in regards to human experimentation and treatment as tools.

I doubt he's a 'rival', not plotwise, and it's incredibly unlikely he'll survive this arc.

Hmm, the power levels just keep escalating - I mean, 256? What the hell!

In before Oga declares that he doesn't need to suppress Beel's power because he is that tough - and that their powers have been maturing together (wasn't that what Hilda said near the beginning, that Oga was also maturing as the Demon Lord's parent?). Lucifer was quite probably already an adult despite its looks (considering it instigated a war in hell) before Takamyia contracted it.

At least that's what I think will happen, but Belzbub delights in throwing me curveballs.

 

You can at least assume that Oga is going to pull this down somehow. He pretty much never loses.

 

I'm taking that as read, yeah. With Beelzebub often it's more important how the fight would go than how it'd end (which would be with the good guys winning). Unless it's Oga vs Toujou.

I'm kinda sad that Toujou is a part of Oga's court now, though knowing him it won't stop them "sparring" the hell out of each other.

 

I'm more curious as to who No. 3 is. The obvious answer is Himekawa, but I'm hoping it's someone else.
