Because 3 is a magical number?

Seriously though, because 3 is the average size for scum teams and fits fairly well into a 17 man game. 3 scum + 1 third party looks about right to me.

I'm not sure on your scum team though. Those three are linked by their votes against Typhon (curiously within 30 posts of the first vote, start to finish, and they held their votes for a while afterwards), but I'm leery of believing that any scum team would attempt to start a bandwagon like that. It seems stupidly obvious to me, and we know Fontisian is good at playing scum.

You might have gotten 2/3 right though. I could see a case for Rubicon/Font scum team, with Kalas possibly filling the third slot.

Hmm. On second though, not Kalas. He tunnelled on Rubicon a lot, when there was no real need to.

As it is though, I'm quite happy with putting my vote in place now.

    Vote: Rubicon

I don't like the cut of your jib. Nor do I like your scum team, reasoning or voting record.

Okay, I'm off to bed now. Night shift sucks, etc.

I expect something interesting to happen before I wake up. I will be very annoyed otherwise.

    What a scummy example.

Moridin was voting for you, even though he said he would have switched to Bill if not for the numbers.

    Sesc thought you were town.

What you're saying is a bit conflicting but mostly meant to point us away from you (that's my interpretation of it, anyway) by using the scum night-kill (one of the two). Are you simply taking advantage of the situation or did you actually cause it?

Besides, Moridin's scumteam was Bill (a townie), Fen (a townie), Rubicon and Smile. Sesc' scumteam was Bill (a townie), Moridin (the other player whose reads you think are putting us to the right track), Rubicon and Kalas.

Sooooo... clarify all this a bit?

@Aekiel: one question before you go. What are your scumreads?

    Fucking finally, Aekiel.

I gave Aekiel the public cop power. That's what the message was about. I should be almost townfirmed to your eyes (unless you think such a power could come or would come from scum). Aekiel should be even more, since he just revealed scum (unless you think this is an extremely reckless scumploy - extremely doubtful, IMO).

I suggest we bring Rubicon to soft lynch, then use the day as normal to suss out his buddies. There's the chance he has some kind of power to use, but I'm not willing to sacrifice a day for that possibility, personally. What do you guys think?

Hey guys, I already sent Eido a PM and posted in my QT but I have to bow out. I've gotten progressively sicker over the past day and a half and I don't want to play half assed. I'm formally requesting to be replaced if Eido can. I will be monitoring this though as I still want to watch it, I just don't want you guys to be playing with someone who can't present the best play skill possible. Eido, Obs would be nice if you're not upset with me.

---------- Post automerged at 08:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:03 AM ----------

I wanted to formally post it so you guys can get a replacement ASAP without having to find out after I've just missed a day and night phase of two.

Man, am I behind the times. Anyway, having re-read the thread in light of what we've learned since the end of Day 1, my current suspects for Rubicon's scum-buddies are:

Typhon: He and Rubicon had a little back and forth that allowed them both to come across as reasonable and could be used to establish a defense later. Hasn't posted much in the way of content. (Kettle, there's something I just don't like about your colour...)

Wetnurse: That suggestion about random lynching could be derp town... or it could be used to cover scummy play in the future. Also allows his scumbuddies to seem towny by explaing why that is a bad idea. Finally, someone (font?) mentioned how he always voted for someone already under pressure. Overall, reads as scummy to me.

    Potential 3rd Party:

Smileofthekill: Role-fishing, attempting to twist the events of the last game to discourage paranoia, links with Fen, hasn't posted much actual content but doesn't fit into my working theory on the scum-team.

I'm not going to vote for now as we're too close to hard lynch on Rubicon.

I'm glad I was asleep for most of that because I probably would have defended Rubicon on the basis of "too crazy to be scum." Well, up until the scum list from nowhere bit.
    Rubicon: Son, I am disappoint.

But this makes scum reads much easier, as Rubicon tends to attack his teammates early on (and inspire them to attack him) in order to separate themselves.

People who Rubicon attacked day 1: Kalas, Schro, Smile, Typhon, Rents

People who attacked Rubicon day 1: Aekiel (townfirmed), Bill Door (dead+townfirmed), Schro, Stojil (fairly townfirmed), Wetnurse

I may be missing stuff, so I'll look through the thread again, but that leaves us with a list of six to narrow it down from: Kalas, Schro, Smile, Typhon, Rents, Wetnurse

Arguably, the Rents vote thing could have gone somewhere, which makes him less likely to be a Rubicon teammate. I'll come back with my thoughts on the others later today.
