And IIRC, Cxjenious said that we'd see scenes from throughout that timeskip period. It isn't just a straight hop to "five years later..."

So, I don't think anyone else has really mentioned it, but tbh don't feel like looking back over 43 pages of comments.

Anyway, Cxjenious, I'd like to applaud some of the connections you've made w/ Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. Because seriously, it's kind of surprising how being a Baratheon works. Things like the Coat of Arms connection, for his parents (A Stag and a Lion, Kind of obvious.)

And then there's things like Harry being compared to Rhaegar. Consider the fact that Rhaegar was "The Silver Prince," and Harry is the "The Black Prince," and it's like a pattern is starting. Also, Harry seems to tend to wear black, but it has been brought to his attention that red is his color. While the most obvious connection is the Red God, well, what other group of people is associated with Red and Black?

The only thing left is if I'm just seeing things, where's theres nothing, or if I'm actually on to something.

 

I'm glad someone noticed the black and red theme.

AFAIK red represents blood/war. It also represents strong emotions. Rage, hatred, love, etc...

As for black, are you sirius?

There's Castle Black. The Night' Watch are also clad in black.

That's just off the top of my head. There are probably plenty of other connections.

 

Black and red are Targaryen colors. The Targaryen sigil is a red dragon on black; Blackfyre colors were the reverse of that.

 

Pretty sure he was being facetious.

Also, when I think of Black and Red my mind always goes to the Many-Faced God, but that's mostly because of Jaqen's hair. It should be pointed out that the Many-Faced God is also known as the Lion of Night in Yi Ti, a country which is thought to have wild basilisks. If Harry should ever go on a Lannister walkabout then I can't think of a better country for the Black Lion to visit.

I'm re-reading the fic now and you've snuck a lot of extra little bits and pieces into it, Cxj. While we've been sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the next chapter it seems like you've been revising and molding the earlier chapters.

I had just looked at chapter one an hour or two earlier, It was still the chapter one at that time.

 

That was a mistake on my part. I changed it back.

You've missed some things, I think.

What that means is, the TV series starts in 299 AL. We'll pick back up some months before Joffrey's nameday, and Jon Arryn's subsequent death, which ties into the beginning of episode one of Game of Thrones.
