I tried to keep reading it but I fell behind on it, so I just kind of stopped.

Still reading it and loving it. It has a lot of really good ideas and really feels like something GRRM would write for the most part (though recently it's starting to feel a bit too uplifting and positive somewhat, with a few cheesy things - that isn't necessarily a bad thing though).

 

I desperately need some new GoT / I&F. Ned Stark Lives 2 is getting too predictable and I swear it's starting to feel like one of those pairing stories with that latest Tyrion chapter. The SanSan vibes are too stronk for me.

 

The Sansan vibes are worse in North Remembers. You're screwed until I write my ASOIAF fic.

I didn't finish the first one. The Arya/Gendry was too much. And it seemed really mediocre to me.

Theres another fic where Ned Lives (Catelyn too), but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. Varys smuggled Ned to Pentos or something, and Catelyn was held captive by Walder Frey. Despite the super syrupy sap that was Ned/Cat, I liked it.

 

Perhaps you mean "Ned Stark Lives!" ?

No. No I don't. I'd have thought that was obvious, considering I mentioned "Ned Stark Lives!" in the same post. In this story, Catelyn was raped by about a dozen Freys, amongst other things.

The capital on the "L" might have thrown you off, I'll admit, but I consider Ned Lives a viable story category.

 

Love and Honour. I found it a bit too angsty to be honest. And too focused on Ned/Cat romance (which I don't really have much interest in).

In Ned Stark Lives 2, Arya/Gendry seems a lot less of a major feature as in the first one. Events still seem cheesy and everything seems to be going a bit too well for every POV character.

The SanSandor aspect of North Remembers is fine. Firstly Sansa is only one POV out of many, secondly Sandor hasn't even seen her the entire fic and thirdly even within her story it plays a very little part. Occasionally she may spare a wistful thought about him, but mostly she's focused on the events that are happening in the Vale. It's hardly a major plot component even within Sansa's own story (though recent events may change that a tad).

I think I'd like to see a decent fic where the original plan of making Ned take the black came about. Could be interesting.

 

There's a lot of it in there. It was a bit much, at some points, considering they'd been married for so long. You'd think they wouldn't angst over each other so much.

It gave me a good feeling, though, seeing Ned get revenge.

I haven't finished it, but it seems alright. It's only one chapter though.

I think it's about as Ned/Cat as Love and Honour though. They are the only two POVs.

left a bad taste in my mouth. Made me put the story down for a few days.

I wanted them to die so much more gruesomely than they did. Like, torture-porn gruesome. Sodomized by knives, boiled alive, strangled with their own entrails type deaths.

 

Water Dancers

One of the few fanfics I've ever read that have left me feeling physically nauseated and unable to continue. It's not very graphic at all, and the writing style is clunky and heavy-handed, but it still manages to be exceedingly fucked-up.

 

I liked it, as well as a couple of the other fics.
