If anything, I suspect it makes it more obvious.

Have you never looked at a bunch of siblings together, seen one who looks nothing like the others, and gone "lol" in your head?

If all three kids looked the same, then you might assume that nothing is wrong [unless you're Stannis, or have read 'The Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms']. It isn't until you compare and contrast them to the rest of their bastard half-siblings, that you'd notice the problem.

The differences in the Baratheon kids when they're standing together should raise an eyebrow at least. And curious minds will look deeper to see if there's anything suspicious.

Lol, Stannis is really Hermione. He has some 'light reading' as a hobby.

On the topics of knights can you do something that Martin does as well. Which is have a list of characters and descriptions about them. If you have the first chapter like that with a quick description of their allegiances and back pastors that would help..... Or just make a fan fiction wiki lol....

And someone needs to write r ballad if the blac prince for tie fan fiction.... I tried writing one but it sucked....

I've been writing one as I'm re-reading the fic. Will post when done. Might be a while though; I'm reading the fic very slowly.

As a taster, here are the ghosts:

Yak you be awesome.. I just asked for Harry's personal Knights. You gave me all of westeros:)

Will it be on google doc so I can bookmark it easily? :p

Btw sex-genius on a side note about master wulfric not knowing ravenry...I thinks that canon error, I think all masters are suppose to know about ravenry.. I think so at least.

Also the scene with tywin well done! B/c I remember there were two versions being bandied about and you mixed them both perfectly!

I want to read about tywins reaction when he sees the delivery of dragon bone arrows and finds about Harry's valaryian dagger. I remember reading that he tried to acquire valaryian steel swords for a long time.

If this was true, then logically everyone in Westeros should have dark hair. Unless, of course, Baratheons having only dark haired children is a recent development.

Did the books say anything about the mothers of the king's bastards? Is it possible that he simply favored dark haired women? The children born of two dark haired parents will obviously have dark hair.

Maybe. Ask me when I'm finished. I'm still not sure what form it will take. Some of the knights change position, like from Gold Cloak to Black Cloak and Harry's personal guard, so I'm still figuring out how to best present it.

I'm writing it for myself, so I wasn't worried about others being able to quickly find the right info.

If that's true, then Cxjenious can fix it with some minor changes. It doesn't have to be Wulfric's lack of ravenry which stymies him so much as his lack of ravens. Unless he brought them with him from KL [I doubt they'd be parting with them], he'd have to ask the Casterly Rock maester for access to their ravens.

    See this from Westeros.org:

    And

There must be a great business in transporting ravens back to their starting castle by cart after delivering their message.

Yes, they've been looking to buy a replacement for their long lost Valyrian sword Brightroar. In fact, Gerion has set sail to Valyria to search for it only a year or two before the current time of the fic, leaving his bastard daughter, Joy Hill, in Casterly Rock.

A dagger is much smaller than a sword. I think you'd have to gather a lot of daggers together to have enough Valyrian steel to reforge them into a suitable sword.

I blame it on features of a bloodline being influenced/maintained by minor latent or inherited magic. It's a fantasy universe.

It's noted in 'The Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms' that every child of a Baratheon/Lannister union has had black hair.

There are two valyrian sphinxes in King's Landing. I'm always surprised no one ever thought to rework them into swords.

Yes, they just don't know the secrets of how to make it from scratch. But they can rework existing pieces.

It's like how the creation process for watered steel was a secret for a long time.

Cxjenious, I figured you might be looking for elements of Harry's personal sigil then I saw this pic:
    http://dokuro.devianta******/art/Lion-1-11346620?q=favby:leaderpein/46807591&qo=6

I think that lion with a black mane, maybe two other smaller golden Lions to indicate the whole ' Lannister pride' and his leadership role for the family with a burning crown over the black lion's head on a red background. I'm lost on what the words should be, maybe "family first" or "Mine is the fury" with a set of antlers underlining the words.

IIRC The blacksmith in Kings Landing that Gendry works for (is owned by?) knows how to re-forge valyrian steel.

That's how Ice was broken up into two swords in ASOS.

The blacksmiths of who it are renowned to know how to reforge valaryian steel. It's a guild secret for them.

As for wulfric he doesn't know how to train ravens according to the fic. So yak based on your citation it's not a lack of having ravens based on cxjenious description he doesn't know how to train them...

Ya the dagger is quite small, but for tywin I'm sure it's better then nothing.

Now speaking of ravens will we see a hedging 2.0? lol, jk.

My thoughts as well. But are they Valyrian steel, or just Valyrian versions of sphinxes?

Edit: Another thing I need to change: unbalding Tywin invalidates something Tyrion said earlier in the story, about Tywin being as clever as he is bald.

I don't have the text in front of me. Westeros.org is a little conflicted on the issue. They list the two Valyrian sphinxes on the 'Valyrian Steel' page, but on the 'Valyrian Sphinx' page it indicates otherwise.

    and more specifically:

Based on that info it seems plausible, but unlikely, that they're made from solid Valyrian steel, or any Valyrian steel at all. The books might shed more light on it.

Harry's sigl should be a pure black lion with green eyes, and golden stag horns rearing on a red field.

I don't know nearly enough about Westerosi heraldry to say anything, but it is my understanding that Harry Baratheon wouldn't be able to just makeup his own coat of arms out of whole cloth like that. Furthermore as Prince and (potential/probable/maybe-someday-if-he-plays-nice-with-Tywin) heir to Casterly Rock it is probably best for him to use the coat of arms that Joffrey ends up using (Created I believe by marshalling Baratheon and Lannister together).

We've had this discussion about his personal arms earlier in the thread.

    My guess was this: Link.

I don't know if the crown usage is correct as he is Joff's heir.

Can't remember if Cxjenious ended up agreeing with it, or if he had small changes.

He can. Tale it from someone who has studied heraldry. Most any man can create their own personal coat of arms.

And I've already decided what Harry's sigil will be. Thanks for the ideas the though.

Could be that only the faces are marble? It seems to me though, that if it was possible to rework the statues into swords, someone would have done it.

I read a discussion about it on an ASoIaF site. Not about the statues, but about melting all of Robert's Valyrian daggers into one sword.

I can do that, actually. I already have my own little index on my computer at home.
